I was desperate for a car wash since the weather's finally nice and my car's full of salt. I'm waiting a little while before I get the inside cleaned out, and my focus was to get the outside as clean as possible without spending over $10. Since I was meeting a friend for lunch across the street, I found this place on google and stopped in. I guess Zax's purchased this location and I had to check into it as Brookshire since I guess Yelp didn't do an update yet. Fortunately the line here moved quickly even though there were a few cars ahead of me. Not bad for a "nice" Sunday afternoon. They have memberships here, but most people seemed to pay cash. Their washes start at $7 and I upgraded to the $10 wash to get the wheels cleaned and the underbody washed as well. The staff here was friendly and efficient, prices are on point and well, my car's clean. I have a slight pet peeve. I hate when the pack the cars into the car wash really super close, and this is one of those places. I like a little space, but not here. I guess it's how the keep the line moving so quickly? I had more than enough space for the car ahead of me, but the guy behind me in a pickup truck was so close I couldn't really see his headlights. Did anything bad happen? NO. It's just annoying. Anyway, I digress. Overall a nice place and I'd go again as the car got clean and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg. Thank you Zax, you're the best! read more

Brookshire car wash has been sold and has changed the name to Zax's car wash, and the new owners won't honor the old Brookshire car wash coupons. The equipment isn't being maintained either. The last time I had my car washed there the washrack stopped moving, and I had to drive around with my car covered with suds for a second time to complete my wash. The new owners aren't very customer service oriented. Because they have no interest in extending the courtesy of honoring the old Brookshire coupons. My suggestion is to stay away from this car wash. The basic wash has increased from $5.00 which included the underbody when it was Brookshire to $7.00 and no underbody wash, the new owners are rude. Funny, I was all set to repurchase another book of coupons but it's easy to see that it's time to move on..! read more

I went there a few days ago (first time ever going to a car wash pay the guy the price of 5 dollars which I figured was a good deal) so I was getting ready to pull into the wash and next thing ya know they stop me from going in ( I drive an old pickup truck I had a few things in the bed of my truck that I had to take out, they called my belonging junk and said they belong in the trash I told them simply that it is not junk and that I will hold on to it) so back to me going into their car wash they never told me to put it into neutral I drove in with it in gear not knowing that you had to put it in neutral they guy puts up his had to have me stop I do so immediately and he smacks the hood of my truck which actually did leave a slight dent and he also smacked my window which lucky for him didnt crack or break it, so after the service I was quite upset with the service I received so I pulled back around to they guy collecting the money and asked for a refund and explained why I felt I deserved it he said I had to talk to the punk kid that smacked my vehicle multiple times about it so I said thats not a problem (punk kid comes out of the cleaning tunnel and I could tell that he wasn't in a good mood) I talk to the kid and simply say that what he did was uncalled for and he said to me that he had to do it so I would stop my car I said I stopped as soon as you put you hand up I understand that you are incompetent and unable to see that I stopped but that still doesn't give you the right to smack my window (punk kid walks away ) I said you are just going to walk away Like the punk kid you are then aren't you (punk kid turns around acting all big and bad) comes up to my window calls me a retard and a few other words that were not nessesary and proves my point I felt like I was not treated right and knew that there was something I had to do about it so I pull into a parking spot in the back (this crazy ass old man comes out and he asks me why I'm still there I got my wash and to leave I simply tell him what happened and that I called the cops (20 minutes later cops show up ) cops ask me what happened and I told them they asked me to show them where they slapped my hood and I did neither one of us could see the dent it is really shallow and almost unnoticeable and then the cop directly goes over talks to the kid and the other punks in the tunnel start recording it (I don't really care about them recording) you would think me calling the cops would get me my refund well I guess not. The cops told me if they don't refund me then I can take them to court and its not worth the thousands of dollars just for a 5 dollar return (NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN AND I SUGGEST YOU DONT GO EITHER) sorry if it seems like I'm rambling on but I wanted to get my point across read more

I used to love going to this carwash. The other day when I went there I was greeted by a bunch of Punk kids when I first entered. One of them was smoking while he was scrubbing my car and the smoke smell literally entered my car. Then while I was in the car wash my car literally stopped in the middle of the car wash and wasn't moving. I didn't know what to do because the car behind me seem like they were going to hit me, so I put my car in drive and exited the car wash. I looked behind me and noticed the car that was still in there also stopped in the same spot. Don't know who's running this joint but its definitely gone downhill. Free scratches are included with the basic wash. According to the attendant you must request No Scratches, if you don't want them.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Asked for the 9.00 package for bug guts and they are still there. They didn't even spray the windows. Can't even tell we took it through. Waste of 9 bucks. Go elsewhere. read more

I've been going to this car wash since it opened at least once a week. Lately the staff have been rude, I ordered a $7 wash gave the attendant $20 and received $5 change. I had to explain to the kid what the change should be. After the wash I had an oily like film on all my windows. I went back to start of the wash and asked them to run it through the wash to get this film off the car. The old man (Steve) gave me such hard time on running the car through a 2nd time. Finally after 10 min of arguing with this old idiot he ran it the through. This is the last time I'm bring my cars to this place. This is one of the best car washes around. We wash our vehicles quite a bit and I highly recommend this car wash. We have a pick up truck and an SUV, so the 'same price for all vehicles' is great! I just went to this car wash and a man with mustache and beard approached. I asked for a $7 wash and said "Can you also please make sure that dark spot is removed"? He took my money and marked a "3" on the windshield. I went through the wash. I pulled off and came right back because the spot was still there and the "3" was still on the windshield. I pulled up and waited. The man came out finally. I told him the dirt was still on the car and he said "The car looks clean to me." I got out and tried to wipe the spot with tissue. It was coming off. It was just dark brown mud. He said "We don't spot clean." Then he threw his hands up in the air and said "You didn't even tip". Wow, Really?!?! WHY WOULD YOU NOT TELL ME THAT AS I GAVE MY MONEY AND ASKED IF YOU WOULD REMOVE THE DARK SPOT? THAT IS WHEN I SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOLD "WE DON'T SPOT CLEAN"!!!!!!!!!!!!! Horrible service!!!!!! This place has gotten worse. I used to take my truck there after a weekend up north to get the road grime off..Well now ther refuse to do it. The kid took my money and said it won't clean everything with I stated was fine , then an old man man came out the office and refused to wash it , stating he's losing money.. Had an Extremely aggressive, rude, inappropriate encounter with the older gentleman who owns the place. He screamed in a violent and aggressive manner at me for not immediately putting my car in neutral (mind you- he was screaming at me and I was very flustered). Once I figure out what he wanted he proceeded to scream bull**** at me. To top it all off my three year old witnessed/heard it all. And the car wash itself was done poorly. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and I encourage everyone else with similar experiences to do the same. read more

The car wash itself is decent, but the old man that owns/works there forces you through the car wash so your car does not get dry. One day I went there and a couple was outside screaming at the old man because he put their cars too close together and they hit each other. I prefer the one on Van Dyke and Riverland, at least they hand dry your car. read more

If I could have rated this establishment as a zero I would have. Had the most disappointing and frustrating experience there today. The young man collecting the money was very kind, but the older gentleman that claimed to be the boss and owner was completely out of line and disrespectful to me, running beside my vehicle during the car wash screaming at me that I was not following the "neutral directions" (which I was) & "to stop touching the wheel" (which I was not). His erratic behavior scared my children causing them to cry. After the wash I attempted to speak to the man about his disrespectful behavior to myself and my children, and to my disbelieve he started screaming at me once again, four things that I did not do during the wash. My family and I have been using this car wash for years with no issues at all. I do not know if there is a new management or ownership going on now but due to this disrespectful "older gentleman" our friends in large family will be definitely taking our business elsewhere. Paid for a $5 car wash and ended up with scratches all over my hood, sides of hood and roof. Brushes and mats should be checked consistently for rocks, salt, or anything that can scratch a vehicle! Went to my dealership right after this and the collision guy saw it immediately and said 100% it was from the car wash I just got. When I brought quote and vehicle to show owner he denied any responsibility. Worst service and zero integrity. read more

The old man is very aggressive and argumentative. The son (owner) just doesn't care. Be warned if your car is damaged here you are on your own. First and last time at this car wash. Everything started normally. I had my hands off wheel, car in neutral, foot off brake. A third of the way thru I felt the pusher slip under my tires and my car started to roll backwards. The car behind me was blowing its horn. I had to put my car in drive to prevent a collision. The kid from car wash ran up to me and cursed me out in four letter words. I told him that his car wash was broke. He told me to put it in neutral and I did. The pushers continued to slip under my tires. He told me to drive it out. The kid then tried to blame me saying I had my foot on the brake or hands on the wheel. I have going thru car washes over 40 years and have not had this happen before. Avoid this car wash if you do not want your car to get damaged. read more

All of the reviews are correct. I saw the older man just being horribly rude and screaming to the top of his voice to a customer. The employees are very unprofessional. I followed the advice of another reviewer and went to the car wash on 18 Mile and Schoenherr and they were so polite... they scratched my car little bit but the customer service was great. read more

the car wash is adequate, but the old grouch that runs it screams at you if he thinks you are pulling in too fast/slow, or are slightly off the perfect approach to line up the wheels. the garbage cans by the vacuums are overflowing, and the parking lot is so filthy it needs to be cleaned with a shovel, not a broom. constant turnover of young kids, showing the jerk that runs it probably screams at them all the time too. the best thing they have going is there are no other car washes in the immediate area! which is the reason I keep going there. Makes me think I ought to go into the car wash business, because if this place survives with this angry jerk running it, imagine how successful a place like this would be if run right. read more

Do NOT come here! My Cadillac was damaged today all down the passenger side. Sounded like my tire was rubbing against something the whole time I was going thru the wash but didn't notice the damage until I got home and parked my car in the garage. Went back up to the car wash because the phone number doesn't work (they won't pick up and the mail box is full so you can't leave a message. The old man/owner was there. He knows me. I've been going there since day 1 when he first opened several years ago. He was completely rude, dismissive and called me a liar basically. I'm so upset. He's always been a jerk because he yells and screams at his customers when they are in line....he did that to me once when I first started going there and I yelled right back at him and from that point on we had an understanding. But this is despicable. What a terrible person and business owner. He was not the least bit concerned that there was any problem with his equipment or something was wrong. He said nothing was wrong because I was the only one that was complaining! What a complete moron. I can't even believe he's still in business there other than the fact that there's no other car wash around. Now I see all these other bad reviews about damaged cars and horrific employees, there's a new crew there every week because he can't keep anybody hired.
