4-stars- I tried them for the first time as I was looking for a new Chinese take out restaurant since Grand Szechuan closed, which was on 5 Ave near 87 street. The menu and Yelp reviews looked good so I decided to give them a try. I ordered the vegetable spring rolls, Kung Pao Shrimp, General Tao's Chicken and Chicken Pad Thai. I was told it would take 45 minutes to be delivered and it came in a few minutes under the time. All the dishes were good, portions were fair and there were good flavors of each dish. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because there was an issue with one of the dishes. I ordered the Kung Pao Shrimp and we received Chicken instead. It would not have been a big deal but we already had two chicken dishes and wanted to have a shrimp dish. When we called they asked me if I wanted the $1 difference back. I said, no I wanted the shrimp dish. I told them I took out some of the food and put it on my plate not realizing it was not shrimp. I said that if this happened in a restaurant, they would just give us a new dish. My expectation was that they would apologize, send me the shrimp dish as quickly as possible as we were already eating. Instead, they had to check with the chef and the manager before agreeing to send me the shrimp dish. They asked me to give them back the chicken dish wish surprised me. What are they going to do the chicken dish?? They did send me the shrimp dish within about 30 minutes at no charge. Mistakes happen, and I was understanding. I wanted to help them improve their customer relations as most customers would not be back if they had to plead to get the dish replaced. I would still order from them and recommend them. I just hope they learn from their mistakes as I would like them to succeed. The food is very good and I would like to see them succeed. I will give them another try on the future and I hope everything is on point. read more

A goodbye message of sorts... Parting not by choice but because I'm moving away. Brother's Asian Cuisine has been there with us from Harry Potter nights to Monday Night Football. It was there for me physically and spiritually when I was in need of healing. This place has been my go to for years since I've lived in Bay Ridge. I've tried every single takeout restaurant (and I do mean every single one) and Brother's has the best General Tso's in this area. I recommend ordering it with Lo mein and make it extra spicy. I've been wanting to try this place given the unique menu of Cantonese and Thai options. I had takeout today and was greeted with friendly hospitality and smiles. A family business and very clean inside too. The combo order included fried rice, spring roll and soda. Arthur was very personable and his mom too! TBH, I am used to traditional Cantonese fried rice which is usually white/yellow. This rice was quite greasy and salty to my tastes. Don't understand the positive reviews. However the wings were also a bit salty but ok ....it was a good sized order which had enough for a second serving! I'm not giving up on this place yet and will up my review to 5 stars if the chef can alter to my personal taste, less salty and fried rice with light soy sauce instead of dark. The flavor of the dark soy sauce was much too strong for me. The dish was hot and fresh so I'll give them credit for that. Next time I'll stay away from fried rice and probably stick to classic Beef or chicken w broccoli w WHITE rice. Maybe pad Thai? I'll see if there will be an improvement next time. Go to chinese food spot. Hands down probably best chinese food in brooklyn. Food is always on point and vegetables are always fresh and crunchy. Fried rice is actually fried rice and not yellow. Lo mein is always very flavorful and garlicky. One time my grub hub carrier never showed to pick up my order and they called and had their own delivery guy deliver it after they were already closing. Came here wanting Bahn Mi but it wasn't available. Yelp described this as an Asian fusion place with Chinese & Vietnamese cuisine. This was more of a Chinese take-out with some Thai dishes. Came with a friend and my husband for lunch. We came here after our original plan fell (original restaurant was closed). We ended up with their lunch special Chinese food. *boneless spare ribs with fried rice and egg drop soup *boneless spare ribs with white rice and hot&sour soup *Chicken with mixed vegetables and wonton soup *gingerale *iced tea all orders come with a vegetable spring roll The spare ribs was somewhat moist&tender, sweet and yet some pieces were chewy. All the fried rice was cold. The white rice was hot (warm in the rice cooker) but seem old and dried out. The chicken with mixed vegetables was just broccoli. The first spare ribs dish was just cold- all cold with 1 broccoli while the second spare ribs dish was warm with 2 broccoli pieces. The hot&sour soup has firm old tofu (overcooked and old) and mushrooms and nothing else. Where is the typical hot&sour soup ingredients like the egg, carrots, bamboo, and fungus? This was my first order from Brothers Asian Cuisine, and I didn't want to order anything inedible, so I kept my order 'stereotypical'; A Combination Platter of General Tso's Chicken (which came with Wonton Soup) and a Roast Pork Egg Roll. The Wonton Soup - A rich, thick broth with copious amounts of collagen (my lips stuck together - that's gooooood!) The Wontons were very small; Two to a pint, and not much filling, which was a first for me. But, for what was there; they were good. The Eggroll - They supplied a complimentary Spring Roll, which was so sweet! Not only was it sweet of them, it was delicious! My Roast Pork Eggroll was HEAVEN. By far, the best Eggroll I had ever had in my life. Stuffed with pork, crunchy vegetables (so Uber fresh!); So delicious. The General Tso's Chicken was REAL. There were real chilli peppers mixed in with the chicken (so... Not just peperoncino... REAL chilli peppers). It was spicy as fuck and I loved every second of it. The competitors make a sweet version but slight tangy version. I don't want tangy - I want spicy! The Pork Fri ed Rice was very flavorful but a little too "al dente" for me. It was almost crunchy and tasted like it needed to be steamed a little longer. Overall, this was an absolutely amazing restaurant that serves delicious dishes. Having a 21 month old with a savory palette, you really try to think out of the box when it comes to meals. Since we noticed it's been some time since we had Chinese food, I wanted to give Brother's Asian a chance to wow my son. Wow is actually an understatement - he was stomping his feet and bopping his head when he got a mouthful of their pork fried rice! We have a winner! I ordered their chicken and broccoli with pork fried rice, an egg roll and a quart of wonton soup, because why not? The reason for their 5 stars is because their food was not only delicious, but their delivery person had the patience of a saint and went the extra mile to text me that he had rung the bell twice (which I never heard) and that he left the food on my porch table, but out of sight so no one would take it. How incredibly thoughtful was that?!?! Ordering through Yelp couldn't be easier, and we will definitely have to further explore their massive menu. We'll be ordering more often from now on! Ordered our usual dishes; Hot & Sour Soup (fresh, full of mushrooms and tofu, and spot on w/the hot & sour soup flavors (thankfully not a ton of pepper flakes like the place Im done going to); Wonton Soup is rich in chicken stock and wontons and the large, plentiful wontons had a great pork flavor; Vegetable LoMein was chock full of a variety vegetables, and not bok choy. The flavor of the dish was great; not the same ole, same ole. The Chow Mei Fun was bright and rich in flavor! Portions were good. Delivery was quick and food arrived hot. Of all the places I eat regularly, Brothers is the only place in Brooklyn that is consistent. Recipes stay the same, the items included stay the same. And the prices are actually fair for what you get. I can order beef and broccoli, beef with veg, or the coveted Kung pao beef. Both the white and fried rice are good. They have soy and duck sauce, which aren't always offered at Chinese places. Thanks for being affordable and consistent! This is the only plate I always know will be empty when I am done. read more

I would rate this ratty little dump ZERO stars if I could. I was moving out of state, exhausted from schlepping heavy boxes all day and thought I would just go someplace nearby and grab a quick meal. I decided to order a LARGE tofu and broccoli with BROWN rice, paid almost $14, and thought I could save $ by making it last for two dinners. The girl working the front was terrible. When she told me how much, her Chinese accent was so thick I had to politely ask her THREE times how much... finally she was able to squeeze out an intelligible "Fourteen" in an angry impatient tone. She was quite rude! I just needed food and a little rest. When I got back to my empty place, too tired to go out in the freezing cold again, I discovered she had given me a SMALL dinner with WHITE rice. I ate a few bites and it was disgusting, gloopy and too sweet. I threw it away! Don't waste your time or money on this place. Tried Brother's Asian yesterday based on the glowing recommendation of a really nice FedEx office rep. Since this was my first time there, I ordered the standard chicken and broccoli and it was superb! Excellent quality chicken which was sliced perfectly thin along with broccoli and steamed white rice. Delicious sauce and everything was very fresh and seasoned flawlessly. The lady who took my order was super friendly and patient. Important to note that the food held up beautifully during the 20 minute car ride home. I finally found THE place with the most variety of Asian cuisine in one establishment. As a fellow Asian, their food is the most "authentic" I've tried from a fast food restaurant. Asian food in Bay Ridge is generally terrible. But this place is amazing. The wings are always fresh and crispy, the BBQ spare ribs are the best I've ever had. They were meaty, tender, super saucy and the sauce was flavorful, savory and sweet. I usually avoid spare ribs but I'm so glad I took the chance and ordered them. Maybe due to their non existent traffic when I was there ? As for the chicken, it had a texture and look very similar to bacon . I would give this a zero star rating if I could. The "11. Roast Pork Wonton Soup 叉烧云吞汤" has soup filled all the way to the top and has uncooked pork all the way at the bottom of the container. It was our first time going here and I have to say it is quite good for the price. The beef and broccoli sauce had a stronger garlic taste(according to my boyfriend) , compared to the other beef and broccoli's at other restaurants. The Pad Thai was a bit bland, but for the price and portions for the noodles, it was quite good. My favorite out of what I got today was actually the lychee bubble tea with a black tea base. I am a HUGE fan of lychee and this drink was actually very very good. The right amount of sweet and the right amount of bitterness of the tea and the tapioca pearls were very chewing and soft (some places have really firm and hard tapiocas which kind of ruins my wanting for the pearls). I stumbled upon this place today whilst I was actually on my way elsewhere for bubble tea. I had just done a quick yelp search for bubble tea in the area, but this place didn't show up in the results. However, when I saw that they also sold Bahn Mi I was sold! Their menu was kind of a pan-asian hodgepodge, but I knew what I was there for, so I didn't look too hard. I ordered a coffee milk tea with bubbles and a tofu Bahn Mi; totaled about $13.50. The tea was just okay; literally an iced coffee with boba. Kind of disappointing because I really like typical coffee/black tea blend. I ordered the Bahn Mi spicy and the girl asked me twice if I was sure. I said 'yes, definitely' but I still only got something maybe 4/5 spicyl level (no one ever believe me, and so I never get the heat I want, lol) I got it to go and even with the 40ish minute commute the bread and the flavor held up pretty well. The daikon was a little too sweet, but I added soy sauce and it balanced out. I will be in the area again in 6 weeks and plan on hitting this place up again to dine in. I've ordered from here at least 10x already and each time something different...it all tastes amazing. You can tell immediately the food is different...for instance if you get General Tso's, you actually taste the chicken and not just batter. I just had a jumbo garlic shrimp dish for lunch and it was simply amazing. My wife had the Kung Pao Beef and to be honest it's very comparable to a full fledged Chinese restaurant. Soft and tender beef and just the right amount of heat. Added bonus is they deliver pretty far. Granted the prices are a bit higher than normal takeout..but the portions and quality far exceed what you normally expect. Totally a better value from that perspective. This place has been my go to spot for lunch lately. Their lunch specials for $7.99 are on point. They have a huge selection, portions are big and most importantly it taste great! Their banh mi sandwiches are also really good, my favorite is the dark meat chicken bahn mi, the bread is fresh and it comes loaded with tasty chicken. The lunch specials also include 3 options for soup. I work at a dealership nearby, so sometimes I choose to eat in here because the seats are comfy and it's a pleasant environment to eat.
