The rolls were packed very full, good ratio of rice to fish and everything was fresh which I was surprised about even for delivery, however it did take a little bit long and no sauces are included. Came here on a Saturday evening, and were really surprised as it was almost empty. And it's really rare when you got an empty place on a Saturday evening especially in Sheepshead Bay. Anyway didn't want to leave. The service was very good, the waiter came up to us very quickly and the order was ready quickly too. But I didn't like food there. We ordered few special rolls, very bland, tasteless and rice felt not fresh for some reason, regular rolls were fine, fried rice was tasteless as well and dry, and chicken pieces were huge. Came in for the last time tonight... the service was so awful. If you've ever seen my review of the Cheesecake Factory, this was a close second. We tried to order tea and food from the menu such as a party platter and the waitress came back TEN minutes later to tell us we can't order that. Still no drinks at this point. Finally we order and more time passes we finally get our tea. About twenty minutes pass and our waitress has passed us plenty of times and finally we were able to flag her down for more tea. This happened multiple times as the night went on she'd pass us and not say a word or update on the food or ask if we wanted refills. About an hour passes and we asked her where the food was and she seemed shocked. People were sitting down after us and leaving before us. When we ordered the food I asked for spicy Mayo. Didn't come with the food so I had to wait another ten minutes for her to pass us again. Don't get the Coney Island roll. Immediately we ask for the check. We just don't want to be sitting around for another hour to get it. Waitress seems shocked that we were so eager to leave. We pay but I go to use the bathroom where I was greeted by a cockroach.... Not the kind of company you want at a restaurant. Tonight was the reason I will never come back after so many positive experiences. read more

One of the best spots to get sushi in the neighborhood. I visited this place twice in one month and I was very satisfied with the service and food. Sushi is delicious and reasonably priced (07/2021). The platter for two is a very good deal and portion sizes are generous. Added a few A la carte sushi/sashimi to the order and it did not disappoint. The otoro sushi was a bit on the pricy side ($9 a piece). The regular rolls are a great price and a good filler if you're not full. Used to go to the all you can eat sushi spot ( Shinjuku -down the road) but I'd rather spend my money here. The price for two comes out to about the same in both spots but here the quality is much better and we're still full at the end of the meal. Expect an average about $40/person. I used to frequently dine here years ago. Didn't get a chance to write a review til now. I had the sushi pizza which was $10. It had tuna avocados masago spicy mayo and sweet sauce on it. I also really like the lunch specials. I usually get lunch c which you get a special roll along with a regular roll and a side of soup or salad for $12. I usually pick yellowtail with jalapeño and paradise roll. It has shrimp and lobster in it along with bananas wrapped with soy paper. It's really good. I never had a problem with service here and I only had sushi here although they have Thai and Chinese dishes too. read more

Decided to give this place another try and went with my daughter and grandkids. She insisted on Mitushi next door but I said let's give them another chance, which I lived to regret. Seeing we had kids and informing them that kids are hungry the waitress brought my order then my daughter's. We couldn't eat cause we had raw fish and kids eat cooked food. I asked when kids' food will come and did she think that maybe it would've been better to wait with our food since we can't eat it anyway. Took another good 10 minutes to get kids' order. My husband and I came here early on a weeknight and we had a great dining experience from start to finish. The sushi is some of the most delicious you can find in Sheepshead Bay, and really reasonably priced. We had the American Dream roll, rainbow roll, and an assortment of regular rolls. My beau and I had a yearning for sushi one weekend, and we were in need of finding a new sushi place in the area. Thanks to the Yelp app, we were lured in by the amazing Volcano Salad pictures that were posted - hook, line, and sinker here! The inside is incredibly cute with a thickly various selection of foods to try besides the sushi staple; really a great competitor on this sushi strip! We firmly decided to "feed the need" and only stick with "raw dead fish", as my sister always so beautifully puts it. The service was quick and good thing our waitress had nimble fingers to write our order in shorthand! Better option - DON'T SHARE THE VOLCANO SALAD! It's great to have as an appetizer, but it's even better when you know you DON'T have to share; we will practice this next time! Sushi was fresh, clean, and tasty; get up and go look at the 5-6 sushi chefs in the back, cranking out orders to go and to stay. Have you ever bought sushi from a Costco? Well, this is what the rolls from Tenda Asian Fusion taste like. Their basic rolls anyway. I ordered the three roll lunch special - chicken tempura roll, white tuna avocado roll and salmon avocado roll. The chicken tempura tasted really oily. The fish was okay. But the rolls in general - BLEGH! The rice was basically a big pile of mush, wrapped haphazardly around some fish, avocado and seaweed. There was also way too much rice in the roll for my liking. So Tenda, if you're reading this, your rice to filling ratio could use some work. They also need to work on their timing. Our appetizer, soups, salads and entree all came out at once. What should I eat first? I don't know, I'm so confused! Oh, and my third roll came out when we were all almost finished with our meals so by then, I was already full. I had to take it to go but I can't imagine how good that will taste later on, seeing that it wasn't even that great when it was 'fresh'. I picked this place because of all of the rave reviews it received on Yelp. Sorry fellow Yelpers but you must be on some crack. The only thing that was palatable was the volcano salad (mix of shrimp, crab meat, seaweed salad and cucumbers). Other than that, I would say you can skip this place. read more

A trip to Sheepshead normally doesn't happen, but when it does, it's usually for Tenda. This restaurant was strongly recommended to us by friends, who like myself, are sushi/sashimi fanatics, especially affordable, fresh ones, and that is why we frequent Tenda. They sell sashimi by the piece for as low as $1 each and rolls for as low as $2.50. Sake is buy one get one free and special rolls are buy 2 get one free I believe. These offers make me wonder how this business makes money! It sounds too good to be true, but this is in fact, a real business and most likely, a profitable one (it's almost always packed). The food is great, quality is on point, service is satisfactory and prices are unbelievably low for Japanese food. Not to mention, they also serve Malaysian, Chinese and Thai food, so if you haven't acquired the taste for Japanese (which is silly!), note that you do have other options. I would recommend trying the volcano salad, salmon tartar and ordering a bunch of sashimi and rolls (including the special ones). The one item I am not crazy about, frankly, is their uni. I've ordered it multiple times and it has never tasted right to me. Besides that, all else is mucho bueno and never disappoints. Go Tenda! read more

I have been to this restaurant more than once to eat. I always get the same couple rolls, one roll specifically, which is called the paradise roll. It was always very good. I ordered for the first time to my house. I only got the paradise roll and paid $23 for it. It was absolutely disgusting. It was so fishy i could not eat it. I called yelp and they called the restaurant- which resulted in the restaurant saying if i ate some of the roll they could not give me a refund. That logic is completely ridiculous, i obviously had to eat it to try it and say that it was inedible. The restaurant sent the delivery guy back to get my order, which i didn't understand either. I rarely come here nowadays, but I was once a frequent visitor when they were not even called Tenda yet! However, I did come here for take-out recently and it reminded me to write a review for them. First and foremost, I like the restaurant because they really spruced up the decor inside. It's alot more fancy looking than it once was, plus they have a TV inside, which is usually televising a NY sporting event! Since the decor changed, it has become alot more popular and there's usually a wait if you plan on coming here at night. As for the quality and pricing of the sushi, the price has caught up with the standard now of $3 per regular roll from $2.50. The quality is excellent and the rolls aren't too big. I prefer them over Masakari, which is a block away. Masakari is very flamboyant, but their lack of selection is their downfall, whereas Tenda has a larger selection of regular rolls and sushi. Tenda makes for a good takeout option if you're ever looking for sushi in Sheepshead Bay. read more

Since we love the cuisine, we very rarely miss an opportunity to try a new place to see what kind of flavors they can think up. Our friends introduced us to Tenda in Brooklyn. A relatively small yet modern restaurant. We shared a the Volcano Salad, a few special rolls, tuna on a wasabi cracker. The Volcano Salad was too finely chopped, you could barely taste any of the components. The wasabi cracker with tuna is an excellent touch. The rolls were good, but some of them had a little too much going on. I think Tenda is a great find for Brooklyn standards, but I prefer a more authentic, rather than trendy, sushi bar. read more

They've finally opened the restaurant back up for indoor dining (though I'm sure for limited capacity). Friendly staff and efficient service. They follow CDC guidelines. Great spot in sheepshead bay, prices don't compare to the others and food is just as good. They just expanded and are working on the other half of the restaurant, I'm sure COVID-19 hasn't done them any good with this new expansion but they keep going and I hope they continue. So Tenda started delivering to my job and I got really excited and ordered the 1 regular roll, 1 special roll lunch special and the volcano salad. This place was my favorite sushi place years ago. What happened? Why is there so much rice in the Philadelphia roll? Also the 'special' roll I chose was the iso fantastic roll which stated spicy tuna, salmon, and yellowtail. WHY does the yellowtail look like someone already chewed it up? I had to pick it out of the roll cause it tasted so damn fishy.
