    Fried wings

Was craving soul food and luckily found this on Yelp. I ordered their five piece fried wings platter and fried fish platter. Each platter came with two sides, my sides were onion rings, Mac and cheese, cole slaw and of course collard Greens. Everything was delicious... wings were perfectly seasoned and cooked. They weren't the little baby wings either, very big and meaty. The fish I believe were whiting fish and that was also very good. The platters were big, each platter was enough to feed two people. Highly recommend!

SUPPORTING YOUR LOCAL BUSINESS! ok I gave this place five stars. And I'm going to tell you why. The gentleman who answered the phone was very nice, very well spoken and polite. Next the pick up. Soon as I walked in I was greeted with kind words and conversation. Next my food coming out! The gentleman from the back was so nice and again nice conversation and very friendly. Now the FOOD! I ordered the fried fish platter $13.99. As other people have said, it's enough for two people. I received three pieces of delicious fish, cornbread that was moist and very tasty, candied sweet potatoes that had very good flavor and macaroni and cheese that was delightfully flavored. I enjoyed this meal so much and so glad it's close by and local! I will definitely be back to try more items from their menu.

Doesn't look like much when you drive past, but I was so glad I walked in! I was nervous because of the previous reviews on Yelp and thought my best bet would be to make my own opinion of the place. First impressions: a very clean establishment, personal feel, the business seems to be new to the area (popped up about 2 or 3 months ago) and they sell is SOLID. There are tons of options available from wings, fish, sides, sweet teas, and more. Fair prices, authentic soul food, and kind staff. Thoughts on the Food: I tried the Mac & Cheese and I loved it. The sweet tea was "ehh". The wings were average and fish were sort of soft but the FRIED FISH WAS LEGENDARY ! If you're looking for well seasoned, tasty fried fish-- this is the place to be. It is definitely worth a try and their fish is A1. I'm hoping next time the wings and fries will be a bit better. BUT -- without a doubt I will be back for the fish.

All the shrimp had it's poop sack.

Chicken was burnt to a crisp, shrimp weren't clean and the breaded scallops were soggy. Let's not forget the phone rang for well over 10 mins while I stood there and they were having a party with over 50 people during a pandemic. No thanks. 1st and last for me.

Collards and Mac and Cheese were outstanding, as was the luscious banana pudding. Generous servings; I just ate the leftovers for lunch here at home. I used to…read morevisit when they were cooking out of the trailer behind the VFW in Woodbury, and somehow I never made it to their new location. After finally stopping in, I have one question... Why did I wait so long? This is, without question, the best barbecue I've ever had in my life. The first surprise was the restaurant itself. I knew they had a nice outdoor seating area, but I had no idea they also had a beautiful indoor dining room. It's clean, comfortable, and a huge step up from what I was expecting. We were greeted by the sweetest young lady named V, and she was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. Friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer our questions. Customer service like that makes a great meal even better. My wife and I split a full slab of ribs, and they were nothing short of incredible. Tender without falling apart, packed with smoky flavor, and finished with just the right amount of sauce. Every bite reminded me why good barbecue is worth the wait. For sides, we ordered the mac & cheese and their famous Mean Beans. I'll admit, I thought "Mean Beans" meant green beans. It turns out they're baked beans...and that's saying something because I normally don't even like baked beans. These completely changed my mind. They were rich, smoky, and absolutely delicious. Then there was the cornbread. I've had cornbread all over the place, but this was hands down the best cornbread I've ever eaten. Moist, buttery, just the right amount of sweetness--it was almost dessert. Big Swerve's has come a long way from the trailer behind the VFW, and it's great to see them thriving. The food is phenomenal, the service is outstanding, and every part of the meal exceeded my expectations. This isn't just another barbecue joint. It's the kind of place that reminds you what barbecue is supposed to taste like. Five stars isn't enough. This has officially become my favorite barbecue restaurant anywhere, and I'll be back again and again.

Out of all of my visits, my favorite is the weekend brunch menu. There are so many yummy things to choose from like the breakfast burrito, the banana Forester French toast, the various of Benedict's including crab, and there were a bunch of various breakfast sandwiches, but the most menu appealing one that I liked is the pork roll. On my last trip I wound getting a chicken brie apples bacon on brioche bread. It was a special of the day. From the moment I bid into it, I knew I would love it for the savoriness, the crisp and sweet tasting bread. There was a side of potatoes... Very nicely seasoned and the perfect crunch to them. On my last visit, it was a total of 10 people in our group and the customer service was great. We were all able to pay with separate checks... Always a perk. The waiter was super super friendly and kept our coffee refills going. Inside it is busy which could lead away from the quiet ambience, but I didn't mind it at all.

Former home vibe, i was one of the earliest weekday diners. Since it a solo dinner, I opted for a few sides: Kimchi rice Cucumber salad Brussel sprouts (no meat or butter) The cucumber salad was so good, I ordered a second portion!! The tofu burnt ends and bbq jack fruit sounded so intriguing that I almost begged the kind server to ask the chef if they could serve a side portion. Otherwise the bbq is served in pound increments. For my lucky tummy, they obliged and wow those are both delicious vegan options! Maybe next time, i will visit here earlier during my trip to be able to take home leftovers. Booth was cozy and love that water bottle to refill my glass is on my table which sounds weird but I drink alot of water! Small place , would recommend reservations for weekend dining. Parking was a challenge on a Friday night as every space was full and turning around in the back lot involves making a k turn around the other vehicles who are also looking for a spot. We ended up parking down the street and walking over. We were seated immediately, as the bar has ample seating, both high tops and regular tables. My bff wasn't in the mood for a cocktail so we opted for Arnold palmers. Now, I am a HUGE avocado fan and I had heard about their infamous avocado fries so I was super excited about trying them. That may or may not have been the main reason for my visit. The avocado fries are fresh large slices of avocado breaded in panko and fried with a sweet and tangy spicy mayo sauce. I loved them but my bff wasn't as excited. He informed me he isn't a huge fresh avocado fan, so this one is for the avocado lovers. We also opted for the chicken parm rollers which is described as "Chicken mixed with ricotta cheese, herbs and spices rolled in panko breadcrumbs served with house made marinara and shaved parmesan" - they are chicken meatballs. We expected something else and now that we've had them and I re-read the description I'm not sure what we had in mind but it wasn't this. They were just okay. I think if they were placed on a plate with seasoned whipped ricotta and drizzled with pesto it could boost the flavor experience. For our entrees my bff got the chicken strips with the sweet and sassy sauce and I opted for the KO burger. My KO burger was delicious. The seeded brioche bun was buttery and fresh and the burger itself was flavorful. The fries were also fantastic. Fresh cut and sprinkled with a sweet seasoning, I didn't even feel the need to add ketchup or a side of aioli or anything. They were perfect. I didn't try my bffs chicken tenders but the sweet and sassy sauce tasted just like buffalo sauce. Pretty sure it was the wrong sauce but he didn't say anything to our server so that's on us. If you are looking for a bar to hang out and watch sports, get a drink, and have a great burger, I'd recommend this place - but maybe uber there.

They were packed with cheese and not greasy at all. I also had 2 cups of decaf coffee since it was so late at night (for caffeine). Our young male server, Evran, was so nice, courteous and attentive. Burger runn Cheesesteak…read more I've been told repeatedly to try the cheesesteaks here. On a previous visit I had the burgers and I thought they were very good. Though at my visit today I discovered they use Martin's potato rolls for the burgers. The place was a former deli and is tiny. I was greeted at the door and they took my order. Cheesesteak fried onions provolone. My go to order. The floor is tiled and slippery and I almost fell several times. It was around 4:15 so I thought I beat the dinner rush but apparently everyone orders from here on DoorDash or Uber Eats. At least a dz orders were picked up while I was waiting. I thought the wait was a little long.... But I stood there waiting for my sandwich. Finally a woman from the back come up front to address a problem with a chicken order and asked what I was waiting for.... A cheesesteak I replied and the counter woman that took my order grabbed a bag that was sitting in the pickup pile and handed it to me Alex? She asked yes I replied. I took my sandwich and got into my truck. At a red light I reached over to feel the bag... it was Luke warm. I expected my sandwich to be piping hot. Ggggggrrrrrrr. That is why I ordered at the place but the nearly 30 minute wait with the undetermined amount of time it was on the to go counter will you get the picture. On my arrival at home I opened the sandwich and snapped a photo. At this point it was barely warm. I prepared it with ketchup, hot pepper hoagie spread and my last slices sweet horseradish dill pickles. The first bite was underwhelming. Barely warm and the roll which was supposed to be sarcone's tasted more like amoroso. Onions were diced into fine cubes and I prefer more than the tiny amount provided. Overall taste was good but because it was nearly cold hard to actually evaluate. The overall sandwich had enough meat and a good meat to bread ratio. I found no trace of fat or grizzle. Maybe if circumstances were better I would have been happier but it did not reach the hype.
