Pulled chicken with baked sweet potato

The food was amazing. The service was courteous. And the place had a laid back atmosphere.

Super friendly employees and delicious food. Very generous email rewards club with free sandwiches on your birthday and Christmas. Thankful there are these around cause NJ has overall amazing varieties of food but can be a BBQ desert.

1/2 Yard Chicken, baked beans, cornbread (11/9/23)
    Tricia G.

The Yard Chicken was stupendous! I tried two sauces with it - KC and Memphis Belle. Both were really yummy! I should've taken a picture of the literally skin and bones that were left! I never eat chicken on the bone to this extent! I don't normally eat baked beans but didn't want to blow my low carb thang! They were really good! (My dog got the cornbread that I was drooling for). I bet you usually don't see bathroom pictures on Yelp reviews ... I just couldn't get over the cleanliness and even the overall beauty! So far the winners for me from Mission are this chicken and their salmon! (Not a fan of the pulled chicken sandwich). Im taking the parents here next time!

    My meat sampler
    Jeff M.

Service is great. Food is average. I had the meat sampler, pulled pork and brisket with Mac & cheese and a drink. $20. Doesn't appear to be a lot of food or worth the price. It was filling. Meat was luke warm at best. Mac & cheese was really good. The corn bread was ok. Butter was frozen so couldn't apply it to the bread without it breaking all apart. I tried all 6 sauces and enjoyed each one. Texas twang, Memphis Belle and tupelo honey heat were my favorites. Overall, just avg. Not the best for bbq.

Fantastic barbeque place. Chain restaurant with local flair. Brisket was incredible. Also loved the pulled pork. Thank you for your service.

There is nothing special about the flavor and the meat is not tender. And the service was weird.

Out of all of my visits, my favorite is the weekend brunch menu. There are so many yummy things to choose from like the breakfast burrito, the banana Forester French toast, the various of Benedict's including crab, and there were a bunch of various breakfast sandwiches, but the most menu appealing one that I liked is the pork roll. On my last trip I wound getting a chicken brie apples bacon on brioche bread. It was a special of the day. From the moment I bid into it, I knew I would love it for the savoriness, the crisp and sweet tasting bread. There was a side of potatoes... Very nicely seasoned and the perfect crunch to them. On my last visit, it was a total of 10 people in our group and the customer service was great. We were all able to pay with separate checks... Always a perk. The waiter was super super friendly and kept our coffee refills going. Inside it is busy which could lead away from the quiet ambience, but I didn't mind it at all.

Former home vibe, i was one of the earliest weekday diners. Since it a solo dinner, I opted for a few sides: Kimchi rice Cucumber salad Brussel sprouts (no meat or butter) The cucumber salad was so good, I ordered a second portion!! The tofu burnt ends and bbq jack fruit sounded so intriguing that I almost begged the kind server to ask the chef if they could serve a side portion. Otherwise the bbq is served in pound increments. For my lucky tummy, they obliged and wow those are both delicious vegan options! Maybe next time, i will visit here earlier during my trip to be able to take home leftovers. Booth was cozy and love that water bottle to refill my glass is on my table which sounds weird but I drink alot of water! Small place , would recommend reservations for weekend dining. Parking lot was limited too. Enjoy!

On top of the Guinness, they have an excellent liquor and beer selection. One thing to note is they have a special seasoning, the KTFO. It is a spicy, salty sweet seasoning that is the default on the fries and chips. Many people love it, but I personally can't stand sweet flavors, so if you are like me, order them "naked" and they will be regular.

My foodie bestie and I added Kid Rips to our must try list years ago and finally got around to…read moretrying it. Parking was a challenge on a Friday night as every space was full and turning around in the back lot involves making a k turn around the other vehicles who are also looking for a spot. We ended up parking down the street and walking over. We were seated immediately, as the bar has ample seating, both high tops and regular tables. My bff wasn't in the mood for a cocktail so we opted for Arnold palmers. Now, I am a HUGE avocado fan and I had heard about their infamous avocado fries so I was super excited about trying them. That may or may not have been the main reason for my visit. The avocado fries are fresh large slices of avocado breaded in panko and fried with a sweet and tangy spicy mayo sauce. I loved them but my bff wasn't as excited. He informed me he isn't a huge fresh avocado fan, so this one is for the avocado lovers. We also opted for the chicken parm rollers which is described as "Chicken mixed with ricotta cheese, herbs and spices rolled in panko breadcrumbs served with house made marinara and shaved parmesan" - they are chicken meatballs. We expected something else and now that we've had them and I re-read the description I'm not sure what we had in mind but it wasn't this. They were just okay. I think if they were placed on a plate with seasoned whipped ricotta and drizzled with pesto it could boost the flavor experience. For our entrees my bff got the chicken strips with the sweet and sassy sauce and I opted for the KO burger. My KO burger was delicious. The seeded brioche bun was buttery and fresh and the burger itself was flavorful. The fries were also fantastic. Fresh cut and sprinkled with a sweet seasoning, I didn't even feel the need to add ketchup or a side of aioli or anything. They were perfect. I didn't try my bffs chicken tenders but the sweet and sassy sauce tasted just like buffalo sauce. Pretty sure it was the wrong sauce but he didn't say anything to our server so that's on us. If you are looking for a bar to hang out and watch sports, get a drink, and have a great burger, I'd recommend this place - but maybe uber there.
