I went there today and brought Oxtails the price was under $9.00 a pound I found out it's cheaper to buy the tail and have them cut to your size what really made my day was they trim the fat off the meat before weighing it that's if your buying it so I got 6 pounds for $51.00 you can't beat or find that price any other place I love their cut up small chicken size my granddaughter loves it read more

Quality of produce horrible! All of the cashiers barely speak english so the communication is poor. On multiple occasions I've witnessed most of the cashiers unable to do simple math by either giving back incorrect change or not being able to correctly do the math without technology. Hispanic or Latino customers have special privileges, they are allowed to hold a space with a basket or carriage while continuing to shop. Personal belongings (bags,etc) are supposed to be left at the entrance, but again if you are latino or hispanic this does not apply to you. The store layout is dangerous. There's very little room to move around the store. Their customer service is a joke!!!! The community puts up with it because it's close and since Stop & Shop Southbay prices increased you're forced to deal. I would welcome any challengers to come compete for my business, because Brother's is not worthy. read more

It has an okay selection of produce, nothing amazing and they could work on having more fresh produce. My major critique about the place is customer service. The employees there are very rude and don't like to interact with the customers around them. The store is always loud and it makes it almost unbearable to shop while you're in there because of how loud the music is. Employees are constantly always talking amongst themselves instead of helping customers who need help or restocking things that could need some restocking. I love this grocery store! It's right in the neighborhood (Uphams Corner/Strand Theater), they have just about everything that your major food store has, and the prices are comparable. They remodeled about a year ago, and it is very clean, neat and well stocked. They've got a good selection of most categories of items, and even have some items that you wouldn't find anywhere else. Lots of Spanish and other international foods. All of the employees speak Spanish, but can/will speak English when they realize you don't speak Spanish. Personally, I love listening to the beautiful Spanish being spoken. This is a great option when Stop & Shop isn't convenient. read more

Just dont be black shopping there. I've been shopping there 5-6 days a week for the past 3years & when I purchased a food cup Friday for dinner - it was rotten. When I returned it the NEXT morning with receipt I was initially told I needed to had brought it back the day I bought it - how could I when they were closed when I went to eat it. & TODAY - I purchased a grenade salad & when I went to eat it - it was ROTTEN. I went back w receipt & ended up exchanging it but got the 3rd degree in the process. I've seen "people" in & out for 3years with same issues - NEVER A PROBLEM. I give this four stars because they don't have a ton of produce in here, but it's so incredibly clean. They have frozen veggies so that's a plus. I know that the staff are multilingual and everyone I've had the pleasure to interact with were so kind. I've been here maybe four times and they're constantly re-stocking from what I've seen. They have a little ramp into the other side of the store where they have cleaning supplies, frozen food, and what appeared to be a meat/fish counter. I don't know if they have parking because I normally walk here, but there is a parking lot behind CVS if you need to drive! I highly recommend coming here for the staff. Now this is my second and last posting! This place has a lot to be desired. As i am shopping around with the LOUD music and loud people, one of the staff is dancing in the middle of the open isle were i have walk to get to the register. I then go to check out and got the same register of the young girl dancing with the bag boy! NO excuse me, NO sorry, AND no class!!!!! the register next to her the girl pulls out a gallon of water complaining that someone has been drinking her water. "REALLY" the ignorant girl cashing me out SCREAMS must have been a (BORICUA) I looked at her wanted to say something but better never go back there again. BTW she needs to take up english course as they all seam to have an strong accent and there all DOMENICANS. NO other culture or race. This Store has improved its appearance a great deal, however This location lacks Customer service in a major way, the Store Lacks in Diversity, all the employees are Spanish in every department ?? No other ethnicity to be found in the store at all , the music is blasting with Merengue, Salsa etc. like it's a Party on a Saturday Night If you get a phone call in the store, you can forget it, you definitely won't hear it, the employees are not friendly they sit around an talk more than they attend to the customers, one employee was walking around with a bowl of food in her hand eating in front of customers I personally thought that was rude an obnoxious an half don't even speak English? I just don't feel comfortable shopping in an environment that isn't multicultural management need to improve this immediately I will no longer shop there for these reasons. read more

I actually really love this place! It's convenient to my bus stop, so I stop in almost every night on my way home from work. They have great meats, nice fresh breads and decent produce. All in all, a very good market! read more

I really like this place. I recently moved to the area and was thrilled to find a little market w/in walking distance to where I live. It is immaculate, the selection is excellent and, although it is a smaller sized market, the prices are very reasonable. The meat department is great and the guys behind the counter couldn't be nicer. They somehow manage to fit in all of the staples along with a lot of specialty items in a tight space. I'll definitely be spending a lot more time there. read more

Went here for the first time today and I love it ! Great selection of meats and veggies and if you spend 100$ or more they give you a ride home with your grocerys if you are walking etc. I just moved here a couple weeks ago and this was my first time here but I'll def be back :) oh and the staff are super friendly, I was unaware of the spend 100$ or more and get a ride for free thing the girl at the register let me know and even was calling the guy so he could pick me up asap... and the guy who dropped me off even helped me bring my grocerys in my house :) read more

So being a neighborhood townie and living in Dorchester all my life, I love to support my local stores like brothers market! Have been going there sense they open. The food is great the people are pleasant and clean. Now my only concern and problem here is that when you cash out, walk out the front door there are a bunch of people hanging out front. Not sure if there those people looking to make a dollar by offering a ride home to local people for cheap money! I think that is a bunch of nonsense!!!!!!! If you need money that bad go get a real job. Most of these men are receiving some sort of income from the government. ( And I am very sure of that) SSI............. Being a GAY transitioning to transgender it was really disappointing having a perfect stranger say to my face right in front of the market. ( Q ESO) meaning WHAT IS THAT something that we are use to as transgender, but is just not right in my world!! Now if I decide to escalate on the subject matter get worse! So off I go with never returning to brothers market. OR maybe if they take this note under consideration and clean up the outside of the joint, like the inside! One funny thing, the "officer/security there looks like he is 15yo with a gun constantly staring at the girls at the registers.. I always wanted to like this place, but as the other reviewer has noted. they are terribly rude. It never stops there. I have had to return every once in a while, and every single time, without fail, the worker at the register is ruder to me than anyone else I've ever given money to in my life. If the owners are reading this, then please find a solution. I would prefer it if I didn't have to go all the way to Tropical Foods in Roxbury for Caribbean products, but that's what I have to do when your staff is so rude. Bottom line is this: If you're not their kind of person, which is some unknown variety of person who speaks Spanish and doesn't make them work too hard, then stay away. Give your business to Tropical Foods or some place that puts good business before language group. read more

This store is so great!! Fist time I visited and will definitely continue to come!! The employees are very friendly and are always asking if help is needed. There's a variety of fresh meats, produce and groceries!! The store is EXTREMELY clean, love that!! They even do deliveries!! A plus for me that don't own a car!! read more
