Schlacht Platter $98,00 just a perfect selection for the party of 4-6
    Slava C.

It's always a solid choice for good food, big portions depending on selection, and a relaxed vibe by the water if you choose to. The $98 Schlacht Platter was the highlight - plenty of food for 4-6 people, loaded with perfectly grilled sausages and a giant, tender Schweinshaxe, all with a side of tangy sauerkraut and chopped pasta that ties it together. Pair it with a 1-liter Pilsner for $15, and you've got yourself the perfect German October feast. Shoutout to Stephanie P. for being so accommodating and keeping our fun group happy throughout the night. The space itself hasn't really changed over the years, but it still works - simple, casual, and full of character. Add the Alameda waterfront view, old boats, and changing live band, and you've got one of those Oakland spots that just feels right.

We ended up going to Brozeit for a friends birthday party and this place is absolutely awesome! It is in front of water and the perfect spot for delicious German food and beers. The service is top notch and its cool as it is hidden where you have to drive through a hotel parking lot! For the food I tried: * Fried chicken burger with fries - this was delicious and the patty was lightly coated with burst of flavor. We really enjoyed this dish and love that the sandwich was cut in half * Sausage platter - got this with two sausages and absolutely loved the andouille one as it was nice and spice with so much flavor. This also came with sauerkraut which was yummy and this pasta thing which was surprisingly delicious. This also came with a pretzel which was awesome and flavorful with the homemade mustard sauce Overall, really good experience and would totally come back!

I would put their mushroom gravy on everything in life! My boyfriend and I absolutely loved the potato balls! The staff were super friendly and helpful when I was struggling to pick a dish. The place is small, not a ton of tables, but a great view of the Bay! I will definitely be going back for the pretzels and a bratwurst. I didn't try the fish and chips but I couldn't take my eyes off of it at the neighboring table!

the vibes near the water and having a drink or two is immaculate. the service was nice and considerate and very helpful when it came to helping assist on what to get. i enjoyed the sausage platter as you got to choose from a variety but also coming with a pretzel :) great vibes and would come again to try more drinks and beer and foods

Love this local joint. We have come here at least 5 times in the last 3 years and never had a bad day. We came as always with our child to Brooklyn basin for her to ride the bike and enjoy a gorgeous sunny day. It was father's day we were seated in 10min which was great and we wanted a shaded table. Our mistress was fantastic and we loved the food. We shared a sausage platter with 6 sausages which was great for 4 adults and one 7 year old. Big lovely fresh salad, variety of sausages, spaetzle, giant pretzel and lots of red cabbage and classic saurkraut and fries was more than enough for all of us. As always we paired it with beer - love my kolsch! The only thing that's never been my thing here is dessert (have tried bread pudding and apple strudel) and the bathroom set up is extremely weird. Other than that love this joint!

I knew I was here before. They must have changed ownership because the food is not the same. Boo. I'm not going back. Originally I got Käsespätzle and an Augustine's Keller beer (that I'd enjoyed at the Augustiner Keller Biergarten in München). It was fantastic and I've been wanting to return. I finally found the restaurant again and ordered the Käsespätzle, rotkohl (red cabbage) and a blond beer (sadly, they didn't have Augustine's Keller). The rotkohl was dry and had the feel that it had been cooked on a different day. The "Käsespätzle" completely different. It was more like a mac and cheese smothered in a flavorless cheese sauce, thickened with flour. I wouldn't even call it rustic. I've attached an image of the menu, Käsespätzle, and beer I got on the first trip, followed by an image of what I was served today. At least the beer was good.

Overall, it was a pretty pleasant experience to celebrate my birthday. We had a party of 8 and they accommodated our group nicely. Overall, we thought the food was good and fresh, but we are used to larger pretzels that we had in Germany. The reason I can't give it a higher rating is that we spent close to $400 between the food and the beverages and when it came to bring it out a strudel with a scoop of ice cream... You would've thought that they would've comped the dessert for me for my birthday, but they didn't! I felt that was kind of cheap and it was two extra dollars for the ice cream scoop that was about the size of a golf ball. Our server didn't say that there was a charge for the dessert. The other thing that I'm critical about is my son-in-law park there about 20 minutes before our reservation and he caught some attitude either from the manager or the owner of the restaurant and my son-in-law didn't appreciate it... Something about parking early and making sure that you get in there to have a meal. The location is great and parking is at a premium, so just be aware of that but overall it's not a bad place to grab some German food and beers.

My friends and I stopped by Brotzeit Lokal for Oakland Restaurant Week on a Wednesday evening without a reservation and we were seated right away at a table with a nice view of the harbor. My wife and I had stopped by a tad earlier than our friends so we actually had a chance to check out their happy hour menu as well. We ordered two beers, along with the fried calamari and mushroom & Swiss poutine fries. The calamari was fried to perfection and I really enjoyed the intense mushroom flavor in the gravy smothered over the fries. The fries themselves were a bit soggy, but that's to be expected when you pile on oozy, melted cheese and juicy mushrooms. After happy hour had ended, I ordered the Restaurant Week prix-fixe dinner menu, opting for the potato pancakes, the jagerschnitzel -- with spatzel on the side, the apfel struedel a la mode for dessert, and a bourbon sidecar as my included cocktail. For $45, this is a steal! This ended up being a ton of food and I'm glad my wife and I shared a single prix-fixe dinner instead of getting our own. Of the items I had tried, my favorite was the potato pancakes. The pancakes were fried to be super crispy, not excessively oily, and the sides of sour cream and apple sauce paired well. Across the board, the food was on par with other German restaurants I've visited in the Bay, including Suppenküche and Schroeder's in San Francisco. If you're looking for Oakland Restaurant Week options in the coming week, I would definitely recommend giving Brotzeit Lokal a try.

Weekend lunch. Great atmosphere, nice location on the water. Staff was efficient. Busy on the patio, so we got a table by the windows inside. Great spot. The menu has the food, but there's a QR code to see what drinks they have. Kinda annoying to have to go to 2 places to see what to eat/drink. Just go with digital! Drinks: -Bembel Kirsch Cherry Cider. This was unusual and very tasty. -Kostritzer Schwarzbier. Also very good. Food: - My "Weiner" Schnitzel could've been better. (Spell it right, please!) The schnitzel seemed a bit dry, and needed salt. The fries were ehh. Not crisp enough. - Husband's Lokal Wiener on a Roll with the Wurzige was ok. Fries were also not crisp. The pickled onions and sauerkraut were good though. Prob would be a 3.5 star if I could rate it that way.

$80 Brotzeit Sausage Platter for 3-4 with salad, fries,, a pretzel, and sauerkraut

Came here for a local bar event and it's a nice scenic spot on the water. Parking lot is pretty small so I recommend uber/Lyft or getting there early to get a spot. Happy hour ends at 6 and we were able to get some pretzels and delicious/crispy calamari before it ended. Their Pliny the Elder draft beer and black lager were refreshing and hit the spot. We got the $80 sausage platter that came with 6 different sausages, fries, salad, and sauerkraut. Service was friendly and prompt. Will be back to try more of their food and go for happy hour.

I love outdoor dining. The patio at Brotzeit is perfect on a clear day. As you sit at a picnic bench drinking a good libation and gazing at the water, your troubles melt away. Noshing on a freshly baked pretzel or some spatzle just adds to the experience. I've never had a dish I didn't like and I'm particularly fond of the apfel streudel. With whipped cream and caramel sauce, it's a satisfying end to your meal. Apart from beer, they have some good ciders and a cocktail menu. Housemade lemonade, too. The restaurant isn't near anything, so going there is a conscious choice. It's easy to get to and they share a parking lot with the hotel next door. So, it's usually easy to find a space Recommended.

Not bad. I like that it's on the water. Indoor and outdoor seating available. I come here for the fried pork shank. Entrees are large portions. Wish they had curry wurst or traditional German soups. Service is okay depending how busy they are.

    German pork shank

We have been to this restaurant several times and really enjoy it. Tonight was particularly special. The weather was beautiful. We sat outside on the outdoor eating area. We love German food and I've been to Germany and I am Polish and I'm familiar with Eastern European food. The food here does not disappoint. We had the pancakes and the German roasted pork, shank spetzal sauerkraut and a salad. If you're into German food, it is very authentic and was very well prepared. We had an amazing server who was friendly and thoughtful and intelligent and fabulous. The prices were quite reasonable and the food portions were very generous. I'm almost reluctant to post how amazing it was because it's such a small restaurant. It might get too full. This is truly good German food in a lovely relaxed atmosphere.

I unfortunately do not have screenshots from a couple of days ago, but will share what I see now. Right now I'm seeing 16' gourmet pizzas in the low $30's which I agree is fine and not out of bounds. It looks like the Caesar salad is now only $16. One of two things has happened: 1. You adjusted door dash prices on your end. Or 2. The DoorDash algorithm added surge pricing. Whatever the situation is, I do not think it is ok on the customer end. If you intend for prices to be in the low 30s, that's not what I was seeing. And I didn't just look at the pizza, it was several things shockingly high. But again, right now they appear to be lower.
