Authentic links which were good, but the skin on them ruined the sausage because it was so chewy; however the inside of the sausage was fresh. The sauce it comes in is good as well. The beans are good as a side, along with the green beans. The brisket, coconut and lemon cakes are okay. Don't think I will get them again. Thanks for the visit! read more

Nestled in southwest Beaumont, this is a little hole in the wall barbecue joint. I was in the area for work and because it was on my way out of town, I figured I would try it out! Hole in the wall barbecue places are normally pretty satisfying.. To me at least! I went with the chopped beef sandwich, potato salad, and a water! My go-to.. At first, everything seemed to be going smoothly.. I stood in line a few minutes, got up to the window, ordered, and then began to wait.. As I waited in the parking lot (with everyone else who had ordered), a woman walked up who must have known some of the workers. She skipped the line, went straight to the pick-up window and yelled to the cook what she wanted. Ok, no big deal.. Or so I thought.. I wouldn't have minded if my meal and others waiting had gotten their food before her, but NO! She did not call ahead and got her food before others who had stood in line and ordered already! That pissed me off to say the least! After a 20 minute wait (), my order was ready to go! Because I wanted to get back to Houston, I ate on the drive home.. (I don't suggest this as the chopped beef sandwich is greasy and messy! I wouldn't imagine the other menu items are too easy to eat while driving either.. Onto the food rating.. I don't suggest the chopped beef sandwich. The beef just overall wasn't flavored and the sandwich as a whole was very greasy! The potato salad is average, nothing special.. It almost tasted store bought, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was.. Anyways, maybe some of the other menu items are better, but I wasn't impressed with my meal at all.. I've had LOTS of barbecue in my lifetime, and this place definitely didn't leave a good impression. I blew through Texas without having tasted any BBQ. Before crossing into L.A. my buddy (Patrick) and I chose Broussard's based on the Yelp reviews. It did't disappoint. The roadside location was a fairly convenient stop over off the 10. The line at 2:00pm on a Saturday was only 5 people deep. I ordered the combo plate with ribs, link, green beans, and baked beans. The ribs were slammin, I mean some of the best I've had, ever! The link was not my bag. The beans, both varieties, were totally satisfying sides. As far as the links go I know how to stretch meatloaf out with bread. Broussards is like buying meatloaf in link form. Plus there was no flavor or smokiness. Patillo's links maybe a little bit greasy but they have flavor and in my opinion this what a true Beaumont link is supposed to taste like. read more

I really hate writing bad reviews but I have to tell it like it is. While visiting family in Beaumont my mom took us to Broussard's for some BBQ. She told us we use to go there when we were just little girls. Wow still in business, this BBQ must be the bomb!! So I ordered a link sandwich for my sister and my mom and I got the two meat combo. I had the beef ribs and brisket and mom ordered the link with tri-tip I think. I always thought combo meals came with sides but after reading the sign I realized they were extra. So I went back to the window and got a small dirty rice and baked beans. Okay people! I thought Texas was known for some of the best Q in town. I can't tell you how disappointed I was. Lets start off with the sides. The beans weren't to bad but nothing to right home about. That rice! OMG!! I took one bite and said what the hell. Went in the cabinet to see if I could spice it up but nothing helped, so trash it went. How can dirty rice be so bland? On to the meat. The link was in this casing you had to squeeze the meat out. The flavor was just okay but the grease, good lord! The other meats were flavorless and I could hardly chew my rib (Smh). To be honest the wonder bread was the best thing on my plate. read more

Stopped by on Saturday March 18th to purchase three chopped beef sandwiches. The time stamp on my receipt was 14:59 (2:59.). I was position 28. Order 26 was called; then 29; then 30; then 31. NO 28. When I inquired, one of the ladies preparing the orders said "Let her wait." I did not appreciate that, especially since I know none of then, and am pretty sire that none of them know me.... I finally got my order at 3:35; 31 minutes after they got my money. This is totally absurd. Needless to say, I won't be doing business with these folks again. This place lack customer service. The female at the window was short, and like always my order was completely WRONG!!!! I had a call in order, so I decided to go through the drive thru. WRONG answer!!! We waited and waited. Finally, it was our turn. I told the female, I had a call in and gave her my name. She came back asked 4 links. Because I waited for so long and already endured enough of her so called customer service, I said yes. My original call in order included 6 links for travel since they were out of frozen and cold links already. Remind you it's 2:30, and they're out already. Moving forward, I got my order and you guessed it. It was totally wrong!!! They gave me link sandwiches. Meaning the sauce is mixed in with the meat. I did say for travel!!! When I told them my order was wrong, I was told, they couldn't take the food back. However, I could order more sauce and fix it myself. REALLY!!!!! First things first I called this place BEFORE I placed my order. I asked how many ribs come with a pound? I was told 6-8 ribs per pound....this was told to me after the young lady I spoke with yelled to the back. I ordered 2lbs with 3 hot links. Okay the ribs were good, but I only got 8 ribs on a "6-8 ribs per lb" SO I call and ask about the order and once again I am told 6-8 ribs per lb! Great BBQ!! You can tell the links are homemade and they have amazing flavor especially because they're soaking in that sauce. The sauce was a perfect blend of sweet, spicy and salty mmmmmm it was good. I also had the ribs and they were cooked to perfection with a perfect layer of bark. Try the rice dressing you won't be dissapointed. Overall one of the best BBQ joints I've been to the only problem is I don't live in Texas so I don't think I'll be back anytime soon. I love Broussard's!! Very seldom get some tough ribs but slip ups are rare with them. My husband talks about me driving 'all the way to California for something to eat' but it's worth it! Especially when u continuously drive 5 minutes away and not be satisfied with your meal!! Don't eat as often as I used to for health reasons only! And definitely call ahead!! I told them 6:30 & they had just brought my plates to the counter just as I arrived!! My daughter wants me to get a plate, freeze it, & send to her at Baylor!! (If it were possible....)! read more

It do not get no better than Broussard's. Just down right GOOD‼Calling in your order ahead of time will be wise and speed up your wait. Do beware, of the drive - thur if you don't have the time to wait and there is no one waiting, don't use it, it can be time consuming. read more

I've been to this place three times because i like to patronize black establishments. The problem i have is that two out of the three times my meat seemed old and over-cooked, not to mention soaked with sauce. It has a good flavor, but the rib-ends have to go!!!! Had the Mr. B's Baked Potato & it was fabulous! The portion was HUGE, enough for two people to split. It was about $6.50 so a good value too. If you go during lunch time, be prepared to wait in line but it is SO worth it & always busy because the food is so good! read more

YUK! To begin with, it took 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge I was waiting to order. Then I was confronted by an employee bristling with a militant attitude. But being curious about the food, I ordered anyway. The best part of my 2 meat plate was the sliced white bread. The acclaimed links were horrible. They had a tough, inedible casing that required so much work to cut into I broke the plastic knife. The inner part of the link had the consistency of canned Vienna sausage--puke. The tiny ribs were dry, tough, and sparse. Potato salad was definitely not homemade and wasn't any good either. This is a place that is grossly overrated. Amazing BBQ, awesome staff, low prices. We drove from LA to New Orleans and this was the best lunch we had! I highly recommend the boudain. I chose to eat here after the many great reviews I read. I was greatly disappointed. The rice dressing was nothing more than some white rice with some meat tossed in. It had no flavor whatsoever.
