I'd go to Jackie and KK the most but back then Anju did a good job. After a while, I'd go to KK exclusively because she knew EXACTLY how I liked my brows and was always consistent. I'd go with my grandma, who would usually go to KK or Anju or Jackie. Well, she had to stop going to Anju because Anju would leave her eyelids cut up more often than not. I had already stopped going with Anju because she messed up on me a few times and didn't really listen when I'd tell her what I wanted. I knew her personally for so many years, so I just let it slide and would go to KK. I also understood why my grandma would stop going (she also had fewer hairs to remove with age). I moved to San Francisco, so I would only come here when I was in town visiting family. I'd make the effort to come in once a month to maintain my shape. But then I started to notice that KK was there less frequently. All of a sudden, she's gone. Why is this suspicious? Well KK is a sweetheart and for a while, she basically helped Anju run the place. She handled the phone, payments, services, and cleanup. Some days there was even a line because everyone was waiting for KK, so Anju and another woman (not Jackie) had no work. They often seemed annoyed about it. After seeing reviews about Anju in the recent years, this makes sense. It just feels weird to see reviews about customers being told KK was fired. I, too, was told she went back to school or went on vacation. This can only hold up so long, I guess. So, then they started to tell people she was fired. When I was first told she went back to school I was confused. I talked to KK for years and knew she was in school, so I figured she decided to go back full time. Then I saw reviews saying she went on vacation. So, I called back out of curiosity and was told the "she's on vacation" line. Weird. I miss KK and still haven't found someone as gentle, precise, and kind as her. She was always so sweet and even during the pandemic she's cover up and make sure to keep her hands clean. Anju has always been so kind to me and my grandma, but I've seen her and the business change over the last few years. She seems far less into it now and I'm so sad to see it reflected in her and this once great salon.

I had full, natural brows before -- all they needed was a little shaping. Instead, she took off way too much and completely ignored the natural shape of my brows. They're now uneven and ridiculously thin. I left the salon staring at myself in the mirror wondering how a "clean up" turned into a full-on over-plucking disaster. For reference, the photo I'm posting is WITH eyebrow gel, and they still look sparse. Without it? Even worse. Eyebrows take months to grow back, so this isn't just a minor mistake -- it's something I'm going to be dealing with for a long time. She was hesitant to trim the ends, which is something that I always have done by my original eyebrow lady. My eyebrows were uneven as one was arched and the other was curved so I had to tell her to trim the ends or take off more above the arch. She had to go back in several times and each time she failed to do what I asked her. My eyebrows were 3 weeks grown out and I could literally see my shape yet she failed to see it. I left unsatisfied and tried to clean them up with tweezers afterwards.
