The place I regularly go to is always too busy, so I gave Mendi a chance. Her business is at the back of the salon on Main St., near Pokestuf. Eyebrows were $13 and upper lip was $7, I think. She was not as fast as other places I've frequented, but I really enjoyed the experience. She's the gentlest threader and works calmly and quietly. I've always came here to do my eyebrows and upper lip! I usually do a wax for both and they always turn out so nice. Mendi does a great job at keeping my eyebrows natural and does it exactly how I want it. She takes her time and makes sure she doesn't miss any hairs or messes up. I do get irritated on my upper lip after I get it waxed, but I am not sure it its from the lotion or aloe she puts on it or just my natural reaction. I'm going to be honest, I was a little suspicious about this place because it did seem a little ghetto. However, the lady was great. She took her time and really cleaned all my hair. It was reasonable price with the current inflation situation going on. I appreciated that she cleaned and sanitized her station for each person and kept good hygiene for her clients. For instance, she made me use hand sanitizer before she started. This is just a personal opinion, but as much as I appreciated her service, I did not like how my eyebrows turned out. I found this place on yelp as I had time to kill and needed my brows cleaned up. The reviews/high rating drew me in but I was so disappointed. The "salon" is tucked inside a hair salon so it took me a while to figure out. There were two chairs in the back for the threading. This was the most painful threading I've ever gotten! Threading can be a little painful since it's the removal of hair but it wasn't that. Mendi cut my skin so badly my eyelids were bleeding all over (see the picture I've attached). The blood came from her cutting my skin, not from the removal of hair. I'm also not a hairy person and my hair is really thin so threading never hurts for me and I never bleed. I usually stick with my usual girl in LA but came here for the convenience and timing since I was in the area with spare time. I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Have been coming here fo a while for their threading. They are really well known for that I supposed because when we come in, it's always busy. I tried their eyelash extensions for the first time. Honestly, I don't think I will ever do them again. At least not here. They used so much glue that it made it look thick and messy. It didn't look natural at all. I used to go to Kaya eyebrow threading in Rosemead, but they are a bit far, not always consistent and often rushed. I've tried Ziba threading, but they messed up my brows and they cost twice as much. (I have naturally thick and dark brows which is pretty easy to work with.) I really enjoy coming to Mendi's. She's very detailed with her work and really friendly. Her eyebrow threading service is $6, but I always leave her a good tip (simply because I rather spend my money here than at Ziba). If you come on a weekday, I would recommend coming here before 2pm or after 5pm. It's sometimes crowded by high school students during the after-school hours. I came here for threading, didn't get the threader's name! Overall she did an ok job. From a threading, I care about price, speed, outcome, and pain level: Price: competitive, was $13 for eyebrow threading and upper lip wax. No complaints. Speed: dreadfully slow. I usually have very quick threaders, and tbh no one looks forward to threading, so I like being in and out of the chair as quickly as possible. She was perseverating over each hair. Some people might prefer this, probably makes it feel like she's taking more care and precision to the job (I've had quicker people do a better job). Pain: possibly because she was slow (or because she has a gentle touch overall), there was NO pain. She's good for people that have sensitive skin when it comes to threading, was definitely a plus. Outcome overall: meh. I think she was too afraid to get too close to the eyebrow line so it ended up looking unclean when she first finished and I had to ask her to remove more hair. I already have relatively full eyebrows so I don't worry about them being a bit thinner. For how much time she spent agonizing over each hair I expected a better job. Not bad, just not one of the better jobs I've had. She might just be newer ‍ so tbh I didn't want her getting to close to my brow line in case she ended up taking too much off and destroying my eyebrows, so I told her to leave it. This place was recommended to me by a friend after a few disappointing visits to Kaya in Alhambra. Being the naturally skeptical person that I am, I was hesitant to try a new place because change is scary, alright?!?! Boy am I soooo glad to have taken that chance! Mendi does a wonderful job on my eyebrows and upper lip. She gives you her full attention and takes her time to ensure that the end results are clean and to your liking. She ACTUALLY listens to what I want (I like my brows natural so I always say not too thin) and my brows are shaped wonderfully every single time. This unassuming eyebrow threading space is located inside the back of a nail salon. It looks like they just rent out the space in the back. The small space contains 3 threading chairs and chairs along the wall for customers to wait. I do want to make a disclaimer that this is definitely a "no frills" type of place, but it definitely gets the job done! Every time I come here, weekday or weekend, there is always a small wait. Oh my god, I have finally found my new place. Mendi is awesome. She spent so much time getting my eyebrows equal. I love how she was not rushing at all and really took her time to get it done right. She told me to come back in 3 weeks to let some other parts fill out. Afterwards she even explained to me how she plans to let my eyebrows grow for next time to have an even better result. The first half of the review is for Noemi. I have very long hair... All the way to my waist and I'm very particular about who cuts it. I always feel like the stylists don't listen to me. That is not the case with Noemi. Not only is she sweet and personable, she listens and did exactly what I wanted! And she didn't overcharge me based on the length of my hair. She squeezed me in and warned me that she may not finish before her next appointment. Noemi was doing me a huge favor by taking me on short notice and I love that she respects her appointments. That says a lot about her customer service. She ended up styling my hair and finishing up before her next appointment arrived. She cut my hair dry, which I normally hate because it feels like the stylist is pulling or treating at my hair. But Noemi is a professional! She did an awesome job and my hair looks great! No one else is going cut my hair again!!!! I only met Noemi because my sister gets her eyebrows and lashes done by Mendi. My sister swears by Mendi! And now, I do too!!! I went in this Saturday to get the last extensions. Mendi is so nice and sweet. On top of that, she has a really good eye! I had recently haphazardly plucked my own eyebrows and she suggested cleaning them up for me prior to doing the eyelashes. I honestly did not think it would make a difference. It really did. She shaped my brows beautifully and got all those pesky little hairs I'm too lazy to pluck or can't even see. And then she did my lashes... They look goooood. She did them just how I like. They don't even look fake. It looks like I'm wearing really good mascara. She placed each lash bunch perfectly to make sure my eyes look even (my left one has issues sometimes LOL). Guys gotta have some presentable eyebrows too ya know? Located in the back of a hair salon, Mendi and Meera do a fantastic job on eyebrows and other beauty services. At first, I was kind of sketched out getting my eyebrows threaded here since the whole salon looks like it hasn't been updated in any way, shape, or form since 1995. Even on a Wednesday morning, there were 3 people waiting ahead of me. You kind of just sit on one of the chairs and memorize the order of who you came in behind. When it was my turn, I sat in Meera's chair who was so nice. There wasn't much to say and since I don't really get my eyebrows threaded too frequently, I assume she knew that I just wanted my brows cleaned up. She's efficient and ruthless but gentle when she's working on you. I also appreciated that she's not much of a talker since I'm not trying to have a full on conversation while someone's yanking out stray brow hairs from my face. When she was done, I was happy with how they came out: clean but not unnaturally so. It was only $6 but I left a $2 tip (there's a $1 surcharge if you use card I believe). I've been looking for a place to do eyebrows affordably and I'm pretty sure this place is going to be my regular place when I want my eyebrows fixed. For me, threading is so frigging painful. Especially when they're pulling out my eyebrows from my eyelids. It's a pretty tough time trying to sit through it but I managed to go through the whole thing thank god. The lady was really nice. I called in pretty late to make an appointment for brazilian waxing. They were actually okay with it and I really appreciate that. The ladies who work there are nice and accommodating, i would recommend calling before going. The price isnt that expensive. I paid $40 for brazillian and the lady is super gently. It didnt hurt that much and it was my first time! There were people coming in and out specifically for threading. They also offer eyelash extension for $40. They close 5:00pm so i would recommend calling if you are coming in later than that cause they would actually be okay with it and wait for you. read more

I usually go to another eyebrow threading place, but I just did my nails nearby and didn't want to drive to the other place and struggle with parking in the vicinity of costco. The front of the shop is a nail station, in the middle is hair, and in the back is the threading station. Threading was okay. When I got home and looked in the mirror, my eyebrows weren't even. I just plucked the stray hairs out and it looked good. It's only $6 so I'm not upset. None of my skin got knicked so I'm happy with that. My daughter is extremely picky when it comes to her eye brows. I have taken her to many places before but she was happy with the customer service or the way they shaped her eye brows for her. Which is very long and annoying process to have to wait for them to grow back to try again. But if you go here you won't need to find another eyebrow threading place again. The first time I came here I was in awe. Perfect arches, not too thin or too thick eyebrows. I was held captive by Mendi's work. I was charged $6 and tipped. I just had to come back soon again. And I did. But it was far from the experience I had the first time. There was a teen party going on, and it was really crowded. So crowded I wanted to schedule an appt for when the shop was not as busy. Mendi said she could still take care of me. Not true. I sat down and she seemed to want to focus but just could not. People were trying to get her attention, asking her schedule and telling her fun gossip. My eyebrows paid the price. One was thin and scraggly, the other can only be described as glam caveman. I told her I was not happy and she just shooed me out and said for me not to pluck, she could "tell" I had. I hadn't! It would have been forgivable and understandable seeing as it was a huge party going on. But I was charged $7 dollars, cash. When I asked, she said it was a new rate increase. The third time I went in and asked she said $6. I was purposely overcharged a dollar. It may not seem like a lot and possibly petty to complain about, but I refuse to do business with a shady shop. Overall, seems like potential place for grooming but being ripped off is a nono for me. Will not return. read more
