This was my first experience with threading! My impression is that it's about 1.5 times as painful and awkward as waxing (in my opinion) but it doesn't take nearly as long so it's over very quickly. One of the few threading places in Portland area. I have really sensitive skin, Brow bliss does a great job with my eyebrows. I have been here three times and have had a really good experience. There wasn't much of a wait time, the place is very clean and the staff is well trained. The owner of the place is very considerate as well. This place is always so great in doing my eyebrows, I originally found this place after the last eyebrow place threaded them too thin. They always tailor to your needs and Azi is great at making sure your eyebrows look how you want them to look. I have been here about 5 times & all I can say is I am happy I found this place I drive from the east side of Portland just to get my brows threaded by "Nilo" it took me a while to find someone I can stick to since my previous brow person waxed me & then moved...So I chose to change to threading which was a GREAT decision! If Nilo isn't there I will let Azi do them, everyone does a great job there however Nilo knows my brows she talked me through it asked what shape I wanted & etc. I highly recommend these laides! read more

I am very peculiar about my brows and really hesitated trying this place out. I've had my brows done at a high end wax salon for years paying $35 a wax. Been going to these ladies for a while now and I've got to say I love it! First threading was here and I haven't gone anywhere else. The only thing that made me give them a 4/5 and not a 5/5 is SOMETIMES the ladies seem to be a little on the cranky side. It has happened more than once now where they seem more annoyed that I am there rather than happy I am helping their business. I was greeted warmly upon arrival and appreciated the cleanliness of the salon --surprisingly for a Saturday, there was no wait! VERY upset. I won't be coming back here unless I see the same girl and there's consistency. Last time I was here I did not see the girl who I like doing my eyebrows. I've never had my eyebrows done by this other girl and she totally slashed my eyebrows! It has taken years to finally get my eyebrows to grow out and have an arch and she ruined them!! My eyebrow is missing hair on my arch part and she made my eyebrows super thin and complete opposites! One eyebrow is thinner than the other. I have been threading for years but the place I used to go always was really busy and was no longer convenient. I found Brow Bliss initially through their Groupon offering but was super excited by the level of service! I called to make an appointment but was told that I could come right in. Azi did a great job cleaning up and shaping my eyebrows. I tried waxing once for my lip hairs and I broke out horribly but threading was great option with much less redness and angry skin bumps. One of my good friends went to the AVEDA school in Portland and the MUDD school in Burbank and warned me of how much threading hurts, etc. etc. Well one day after the gym I very much needed my eyebrows done and saw that Brow Bliss had just opened. I walked in and asked for an eyebrow wax and Nilo said they just do threading and she talked me off of the edge. It does not hurt and it is way more defined than waxing. I also had the problem of breaking out after waxing and I no longer have that problem. It's quick, the staff is very friendly and professional, and they do superb work. Never going back to waxing! So I've been to Brow Bliss a handful of times now. Talk about inconsistency! First time great! Second time a little uneven but nothing crazy. Decided to try them one more time seeing as they were right next to my gym. Mistake. I asked for the technician to just clean up my eyebrows seeing as I've been trying to thicken them up. I ended up with my left eyebrow with good shape and the other ridiculously thin and not even arched the same as the other brow! I'm so frustrated. It will take me months to get them even again! I can't believe a "professional" could do such awful work! read more
