I've been going to this business to get my brows done for five years now, back when it was Anastasia and in a different location. When it was Anastasia all the brow technicians were trained by her. Now that it's Brow Lounge, I think the owners had been previously trained by her and now they train the new people. It's a really cute boutique salon and the staff there is very gracious. My favorite person to do my brows is Crystal. They are very skilled in brow shaping and are good at teaching clients how their brow should be shaped. The experience is posh, you recline in a comfortable leather chair as they meticulously groom your brows. My only qualm is the price. I think $40 is a bit steep, even for the expertise and ambiance. Especially since the technicians aren't trained by Anastasia. I've had good experience with the Brow Bar by Benefit and it's half the price. read more

After doing a lot of research on Yelp for the perfect brow waxing spot, I decided to trust my gut and book an appointment at Brow Lounge. My first appointment was for eyebrow and lip only. Annie did an amazing job waxing and shaping! On my second appointment, I decided to try out another specialist for a Brazilian wax. Since my experience with Annie was so great, I had high expectations. Unfortunately this wax disappointed. The wax was overly hot, leaving my hoo-ha burned and some hair was left behind. Lesson learned - I will not return here for that particular wax treatment. So, for brows and lips this is now my go-to salon:) read more

I've been coming here since they were Anastasia Salon before they moved to the current location on Silverado. It's definetly a trek up to downtown La Jolla, but its worth it. I've gotten my brows done by nearly everyone who works there. Annie is my favorite. They are still trained using Anastatia's methods. Although they are no longer affiliated with her (therefore not trained by her in person), they do sell her products. I wouldn't trust my brows to any one else. read more

My brows are always perfect when I leave! When you get an eyebrow wax they also fill in your eyebrows. They not only provide waxing services but other amenities like the spray tan. Definitely pricey, but you get what you pay for. The salon has a beautiful and peaceful ambiance. The aesthetician, Kristi, was friendly and helpful as she first asked me if I preferred tweezing, waxing, or both; explained how she was going to shape my brows; then gave me tips on how to maintain them. I usually ask for thinner eyebrows, but after she told me how she would be able to create the "illusion" of a thinner eyebrow without actually doing it, I felt a lot better about keeping them thicker and let her do her thing. She chatted with me the whole time and seemed very sweet and laid back. The whole process was quick, relatively painless, and relaxing. Happy microblading and waxing client. I have been going here for maybe 7 years, even after I moved out of state. I refuse to let anyone touch my brows. I come back to town once a month and first stop is brow lounge. I just got microblading done and i am so glad i did. They are experts and create natural and customized looks. Love this place! Yes $40 for eyebrows is expensive, but eyebrows are Soooo important. Not only did I love my eyebrows, but the service was great! The staff was really friendly and attentive. They offered me water while I waited and I was only waiting because I was early. I was taken for my appointment right on schedule. During my waxing, the working on my eyebrows really took her time making sure they were PERFECT! Overall, loved the service and loved my eyebrows. I was greeted with a sincere welcome as I walked into this upscale boutique even though I was wearing my grungy clothes (didn't want spray tan ruining anything worthy of this shop in La Jolla). I absolutely LOVE this place!! I stumbled upon it walking in La Jolla after lunch. My eyebrow lady had recently moved to another state and left me bushy eyed and scared to try anyone new. Although I was hesitant I walked in and immediately felt welcome. It's such a cute place!! They set me up with a sweet chick named Annie, I explained how scared I was to have someone new touch my eyebrows and she was very understanding. She mapped out a stencil of what she wanted to clean up and asked if the thickness was okay, she even showed me where I needed to let more hair grow to get a more even brow. I have been going to Annie for over 10 years. She randomly took me as a walk-in 10 years ago, and she is so insanely talented, that I have never stopped going. Annie is extremely talented at brows and make-up; I constantly get complemented on my (not naturally very special) brows because of Annie. I have gone to Brow Lounge for about 3 years now. I started with brows-- which is amazing. I don't have a lot of 'brow' hair, but they did help me to grow them back in and maintain a normal shape. However, the facials...OH MY GOD! The blonde one, I forget her name, is amazing. She always makes you feel completely relaxed and comfortable and was the one to introduce me to the Green Peel. It is by far the best facial I've had, and I've had a quite a few. It is pricey, but I'm telling you, you leave the place feeling relaxed and glowing. They even give you this balm that has a tint to it so you don't leave embarrased and red or pinkish. The 2nd and 3rd days following the facial will be the best. You will seriously love the way your skin looks. Glowing, fresh, clear. Got to try it. read more

I've been coming here for years. So long, that I remember when it was Anastasia. They can be trusted to do good brow work and are consistent. However, after many interactions with the reception staff here, they need to train them to be more friendly and informative with customers. To often, I have received an uppity attitude and a curt response to a question or appointment inquiry. I also think they charge an arm and a leg for their brow services but understand their rent must be high. It still seems like a high price given the amount of time getting one's brows takes (15 min tops) and the brow tint is also costly (this takes 10 min. tops). i got my first brow wax at the brow lounge right around at the beginning of july, i went in thinking it was going to be great but no, it wasn't. i walk into the door am greeted by two blondes who think they are hot stuff just becuase they work at a salon in La Jolla. i tell them i was running a bit late from traffic and am accepted to my brow waxer. she turns out to be a really sweet person who does fantastic brows and knows how to treat a customer who is spending a lot of money. after i get done i am satified with my brows and go to pay, i give the blonde my card and she doesnt even say thank you or give me a card! After this snooty experience i decide to never come back. sucks for them as they could of had a great customer. read more

i came here to get my eyebrows shaped a few weeks ago, and the results were...eh. i can't even be bothered to think of an appropriate adjective because i'm bored just thinking about them. they weren't disastrous, but they certainly weren't good. imagine you gave a pair of tweezers to an average 12-year-old girl and told her to pluck your eyebrows. i think that's about the equivalent of what i got. it could be worse - the kid could have been 8-years old and epileptic - but i definitely wouldn't go back. the best brow place treatment I've had in SD so far is still Urban Calm, where they will do a great threading for the same price as i paid at Brow Lounge ($20). read more

i saw annie today for a brow and lip wax and she did an absolutely wonderful job. i was a bit worried of how my brows would come out because of some of the negative reviews on yelp. i would have to say that i am extremely picky with my brows and how they are waxed. they usually look ridiculously thin and uneven after getting waxed or threaded. annie was gentle and very thorough! and i now have perfect brows:) read more

The "aestheticians" are basically washed up counter girls from the cosmetics department at Nordstrom. Seriously do NOT bother. I was in a bit of a rush to get my brows waxed before leaving for a holiday. I was a first time customer, so didn't ask for anyone specific. I only had my lunch hour to do so and this was the closest salon. The girl who shaped/waxed was decent. (I won't say her name in case I just happened to get her on a bad day). The real issue: I've had better shaping for my brows from other salons. My brows looked stenciled in-literally. Too boxy for me. As I was walking back to the lounge area my shaper mentioned a brow kit. I like a bit of a filler for my brows so agreed for her to show me. Not thinking it would be ridiculously priced, I let her flop the kit on the counter and realized I was paying for an overpriced $80 kit. I was so rushed to get back to work and just left, thinking I would return it the next day. When I called the next day I was informed of a NO cash back policy for merchandise. Great. Overpriced brows and an extremely inflated brow kit. Not worth the price for either. Just be prepared and ask UP FRONT for all product pricing and their policies. Think I'll stick to Myra the sugar waxer from The Upper Level. read more
