Browns Collision center in Charlottesville Left trash in my vehicle, TOOK ALL OF THE CLOTH BRANDADES OUT OF MY TRUCK AND LEFT THE EMPTY BOX, missed clips on my bumper so they're just hanging out visible, left one tire at 33 PSI when the rest are at 55 PSI on the dot and failed to remount my antenna after they removed it for whatever reason considering all of the body damage was on the other side of the vehicle (Just found that this morning just laying under my windshield wipers). And for all of this terrible craftsmanship it took them over a month to complete the job AFTER I waited 2 months for them to order parts. And to top it all off, Jarred decided to offer me money to write a good review for the "detailed" work that they did. This body shop is a joke and a disgrace to the automotive industry and I would highly recommend that everyone completely avoid doing business with them. I'll attach pictures of their botched job on my 2020 Chevy Silverado LTZ. I'll admit they did call me back after I filled out they're satisfaction survey and I declined all repairs because I would rather pay to have it fixed by a professional then bring it back to these clowns. (And just to note, this was an insurance job) UPDATE: They did frame damage to my vehicle. My lug nuts were finger tight as well as bolts for the alignment. My initial experience with Brown was that they took almost a month to affect repairs to my vehicle as they first tried used, then after market and finally original equipment manufacturer parts when the others didn't work. I went there again recently since they are in my insurance company's network. Brown couldn't provide a time estimate for repairs and wanted a signed agreement disallowing their rental vehicle expense responsibility if repairs took longer than insurance company reimbursement. Brown appears focused on pleasing insurance companies not customers and are prepared to repair vehicles on the cheap for as long as it takes. I greatly regret having ever used them. read more

This is the insurances "preferred shop" so while we weren't "required" to have our repair work done there, we assumed that the repair would be potentially easier to navigate given this. Not. So. With businesses struggling to find employees and "supply chain shortages", in my opinion, communication is crucial. We may as well have not existed, really. WE were the only ones communicating. WE knew our parts were there before they did, and not once did they communicate with us. The only call we ever got from them was to not bring the vehicle in, parts were not available. And on top of that, called 10 days later and they asked us if "the vehicle was on site". Nope. It isn't. Even with the insurance company encouraging them to get to work on our vehicle, it didn't happen. If this isn't frustrating to you, then by all means, use browns. read more

The clear-coat on 1/4 of the front bumper of my wife's car that was repaired by Brown in 12/2013 started to peel about five years ago. Because a friend made an attractive offer on the 166k car for Memorial Day purchase, we wanted it looking as good as possible for him. An auto paint store owner suggested I take the car back to Brown and not do the repainting myself. Christian looked at the bumper, agreed the paint has peeled and had the bumper fully repainted and clear-coated. The car now looks new! I cannot state how impressed I was with Brown's commitment to standing by their work. I will not hesitate to bring any future work their way! read more

Very unprofessional. My experience with body work is that someone comes out and explains the work they've done. They didn't do this because they got paint all over my new fire and left some dust residue all over the interior of the car and refused to clean it. Worst experience with a shop. Beyond excellent service. Megan Hall and Jack the mechanic went above and beyond. After taking on a deer mid flight after it jumped off an embankment, I got my car to them immediately. With convenient after hour drop off and pick up, they were able to get my BMW back to me in PRISTINE condition. Everything was perfect. read more

I had to take my car back THREE TIMES because they failed to complete the work satisfactorily, causing my car to stall on route 29 and almost getting me killed. My case was escalated to the manager who eventually dealt with it, but it was too little, too late. Wouldn't go back! read more

I went to Brown's Collision because of its convenient location after someone hit my car in a parking lot. I had to pay a $50 non-refundable deposit to make an appointment get an estimate from them. They told me that the estimate I paid would be applied to the collision job. I paid and made the appointment. When I came back for the appointment, the person was late so I had to sit around waiting. While I waited, I met a woman who told me she'd been back a number of times in a 4-week period because the job Brown's had done on her car was unsatisfactory. The estimate I finally received from Brown's was so high that I decided to drive 10 minutes further on 29 to go to Halls. The estimate Halls gave me was $200 less than Brown's. I lost the $50 I gave Brown's and still saved $150. Halls did a great job. I highly recommend them. read more

Currently into 7th week and still no vehicle. I felt I was very patient and was told about three weeks into the claim that it would be ready the following week, and then that happened again, and again, and again. For the damage that was done to my vehicle, the amount of time that this has taken does not align. Communication has consisted of me placing the phone calls to see what's up (and being told things that are incorrect). You would think that, especially after I've been told multiple times that it's almost ready, someone would be proactive and would let me know what is happening and, shocker, light a fire to get it completed. At this point, my $900 rental allowance from my insurance company is about to run out and still no sign of my vehicle back. I've got other things to do than write reviews, but this seems to be about the only recourse one has as a customer and consumer. read more

I had simple damage to my car when I was rear ended, just a dent in the bumper. Brown Collision was so pleasant to work with and everyone I encountered there was friendly and knowledgable. Travis was the estimator and took the time to show me everything and explain the damage and work to be done. He kept me updated with the status of my car as it was being worked on. Brown completed the repair in a very timely matter and my bumper looks incredible. My car is older and gray, so I was concerned with the new painted bumper matching the rest of the faded gray on my car. I've twice used Brown to repair minor body damage in my car due to parking lot mishaps. One happened a year after I bought my car, and the other, which had more damage, five years afterward. Both times, the work was flawless! The paint was blended so seamlessly, you can't even tell the repairs were done. And both times, my car was ready one day earlier than promised. Enterprise and GEICO are right there on site, so it makes the entire process incredibly easy. On my most recent visit two months ago, Brown's inspector checked out the entire car and discovered that there was a paint defect in the door moldings. With my permission, they coordinated with Brown Dodge to get my car up there for photos to be taken and sent to Chrysler, who agreed to pick up the cost of most of the replacement for those pieces even though the car was out of warranty. My husband recently hit a deer and sustained major damage to his car. He was going to take it to another body shop but I insisted on Brown because we had no experience with the other shop, and they're communicating with us every step of the way, even over the weekend (they're currently working 7 days a week because so many people have hit deer recently!). I highly recommend them for both small and big issues! read more

Getting Browns to call me back has been a problem. Browns has informed my insurance company that my car is finished, but that is not true. The shop service is horrible. They charged two hours of labor and paint on the hood, but didn't sand some small chipped spots, so now my car has small craters. The guy who serviced my car argue that it wasn't part of the accident. It was near the collision, but his reasoning was that it was most likely done by stones or something while driving. I had no proof to argue. If you decide to service your vehicle here, make sure you have pictures of your vehicle prior to it being in an accident.. oh wait, it not like people plan on having an accident when going out. read more

A great place to take your car! I've had work done at Brown Collision Center twice and I've always been satisfied with their high degree of professionalism. When I needed to make a second visit I didn't hesitate to schedule with Brown again. Both times I felt fairly and respectfully treated, and I was always kept informed and in the loop throughout each process. No one wants to deal with unfortunate car repairs, but if you do, you can trust these guys to get the job done right and in a timely fashion. Great people! read more

Someone smashed the front bumper of our car while it was parked downtown. Of course they did not have the decency of leaving a note or waiting for us to return. Anyway, Brown Collision Center fixed our car perfectly. The car rental inside the shop is extremely convenient. The car was fixed within a couple days. Can someone please help me, I don't know what to do. I took my car to Browns Collision on Monday because someone tore my bumper off while I was parked at home. I got a call from Browns saying my car was repaired and ready for pick. I paid the fees, got in car, came home. When I parked my car turned the car off, I continue to hear a loud sound as the car was still running. So I immediately took my car back to Browns and reported what I found, I was told there was nothing they could do and I would have to get a diagnostic done on it myself. I explained, there was nothing wrong with my car but needed the bumper replace, it wasn't like that when I brought it here. I was told to call back on Monday. They did nothing, sent me away with my car and what I'm I to do. Isn't Brown's collision responsible for my car? What I'm I to do, it's too much y'all. If I could rate this collision center 6 stars, I would. My Honda CR-V, 2018, while in park, drove itself up a hill through my garage door. The car had extensive damage. Brown Collision, along with the sweet and courteous Cornelia Lamb, repaired the extensive damage to the tee-100% perfection! Now, if the care only stays in gear I will be a happy camper! Excellent service from Travis (USAA). He kept me informed throughout the process with daily phone calls about the progress that day. It was finished by the promised date. I had my rear bumper and frame underneath replaced and it looks as good as new, so no complaints so far. One thing to note, I would not rely on the Enterprise satellite office there for a rental car. It took almost an hour to get a rental and many people were turned away if they didn't have reservations properly set up. read more

The first time my husband used this pathetic excuse for a collision center, his pick up had been rear ended. When we eventually sold the car, the buyer pointed out how poorly the repairs had been done. We recently took his 4Runner to get repaired there, and their service is just a joke. They gave us our truck back with 3 bolts missing. MISSING! What idiots. Also they hadnt matched the paint correctly and had not replaced a dented panel in the wheel well. My husband had Marcus reorder the parts, and when he eventually showed up after making an appt to have the repairs completed properly, Marcus had "ordered the wrong parts" i.e. forgotten to order the parts. So we had to come back for a third trip, and when I picked the car up, it had not even been cleaned on the inside! I was told that they dont do interior washes when it's a redo--my response is that re-dos are exactly when they should putting their best foot forward because people shouldnt have to come back for a second and third time to have their cars fixed properly. Advertises drive thru, free estimate service but when I went to get an estimate there was no one there to do one, and I was advised it would cost $50 to get an estimate because they didn't use my insurance company. There were several employees doing nothing and one nice guy who showed me where to see a receptionist. In the reception office, the fellow who was asked to help me acted like I was speaking a different language before telling me he'd be back in a minute. He returned to tell me they would have to call someone in because it was lunchtime (1:10) and delivered the news that I would have to pay $50 up front for an estimate. Needless to say I will take my business elsewhere! read more
