ALL of the staff members were so friendly and helpful with us trying to decide what craft we wanted to do. We ultimately all chose to paint and got to take our time- we were there for hours, but never felt rushed. They assisted us multiple times with finding paint colors or making ones that were a blend of multiple colors. You can also do candle making (which other people did while we were there), macrame, faux succulent planters, make your own water bottle, etc. I chose a mushroom planter and it turned out so cute! I put one of my pothos in it and it fit perfectly and now sits on one of my bookshelves. Two of my cousins chose to do different face/bust vases, my third cousin chose to do a travel coffee cup, and my aunt chose to do a trinket dish. All of their pieces turned out beautifully as well, but I didn't snap photos of those after they got them back. My aunt picked up my piece when she went back to get all of theirs and then I got it from her the next time I saw them, but you can also have it shipped to you if you don't live close by. The inside has a big shop area with decor, ornaments, etc and then there is a cafe in the back for coffee, tea, sodas, and little treats. If I didn't live an hour away, then I would be here every weekend lol Percy, the shop dog, was so sweet and was napping up by the register when we came in. My cousins are obsessed with him, so they even got a photo with him before we left. A true diva.

It was a weird experience, and their large size was substantial enough that I wondered if it was needed, but I was satisfied that I'd broadened my palate by the end of it. I had no room for food, but they had some vegetarian options and abundant sweets, and they appeared to be selling houseplants as well. Hopscotch Coffee & Kitchen sits right in along the Bloomington Rail Trail. The setting of the cafe is calm, inviting, and simple. A large porch welcomes you to the shop; it's obviously a local favorite. When you enter the shop the coffee bar is to the right, comfortable couch seating along with work tables and cafe tables are to the left. If you want something more than a coffee and a treat there is a restaurant towards the back on your left. The cortado was delicious and the company was priceless. I hope you're able to share a cortado with someone soon. It's a good way to turn something ordinary into something special. Enjoying life one cortado at a time!

There are lots of different unique teas to try, including herbal teas for something caffeine-free. The milk tea (black or pink) is great - it's sweet but balanced with the strong tea, and subtly spiced for a very smooth flavour. I also really liked their take on lavender matcha latte. The lavender syrup is made from real lavender and naturally coloured with butterfly pea flower. The resulting drink is fragrant and not too sweet. The owner also sometimes makes or brings in different baked goods (cakes, cookies, breads, etc.) and they're always fantastic. As I talked about in my previous review, said owner is very kind and seems to be putting a lot of thought into creating a welcoming space and balanced menu. There's no place like this in Bloomington and I'm really happy to have it around!
