Quintin is understanding, open, and a heartfelt listener . He is also big on respecting yourself and those around you. That applies to patient-therapist relationship as well . But he'll be there every step of the way to let you know when you're progressing and when you're falling off the path. He'll work with you to build a map to improve your mental health. Every single session felt disconnected, as if he were playing a game on his computer and barely paying attention. He lacked the mental capacity to comprehend the fact that it's normal for people to not spill their deepest darkest secrets to a person that they know nothing about in the first month or two of speaking. I concluded that his mind has been warped by years of hearing heartbreaking stories on a daily basis. However, accounting for that, you would think that he of all people would know that not everyone is as comfortable with the traditional therapeutic process as he is. I challenged him on some of these points, especially after he said I wasn't "complying" with the process. (Ridiculously controlling language--sounds like judge with no power checks) I pressed him on the issue of "compliance" and told him that I have participated in this process for years on end and it has NEVER worked. Meaning I have done this over and over and nothing has improved even once. I asked him "How many times do you have to do the same exact thing and fail until you realize that it simply doesn't work, and that a different approach needs to be tried?" I added "Tell me what you think counts as 'compliance'--and i'll tell you if I've tried that." He quickly and rudely refused to answer this out of pride. He clearly knew he was backed into a corner, but he was so intellectually dishonest that he refused to elaborate on his accusations. These reviews speak for themselves, but this should be added: He isn't a stupid man, but anybody looking for a kind-hearted, understanding, professional, attentive, patient, humble therapist should turn the other way, and spare themselves months of wasted time and money.

I had an accident 2 fridays ago. I missed a step and landed all my weight on the right side of my…read morefoot. Panicking I went to my doctor who sent me for X-rays and it turned out to be a non-displaced fracture. She gave me advice to care for the fracture and wrote a referral to Dr Katz for follow up. I had that appointment approx 2 weeks after the accident. During my appointment Dr Kato didn't touch my foot to see if it was still swollen or even take a look at it. All I was asked was to take an X-ray which I had to balance myself to step the right bad foot up. When the X-rays were developed he said the fracture is healing nicely and to come back if needed. Comes time to bill for services I see office visit ok x-ray ok and then treatment of fracture. Dr Katz never even touched my foot or even ace bandaged the foot but claimed he treated the fracture. I called the office to have that explained and that ended in a yelling match and he told me to call the insurance company. I called the insurance company which called his office asking to speak to billing. The girl puts the doctor on the phone on a recorded conversation again there was a yelling match about him rendering treatment and during this recorded conversation Dr Katz called me unstable and nasty. Talk about professionalism . I simply stated my doctor was the one that told me to ice for 15 minutes, rx anti-inflammatory/pain meds and truly rendered treatment. Dr Katz said oh now you are a doctor when I said I came in with a non-displaced fracture. I said no that was a diagnosis that my doctor from the X-rays she had me take abs the results said so. All in all this white doctor had no respect in a black community to keep me as a patient which I made clear. I was insulted and Dr Katz is clearly taking advantage over charging. Stay clear of this business. I had a hair line fracture yrs ago on the same foot and repeat business to the place that diagnosed this non-displaced fracture but Dr Katz you have lost a patient. AR

He got me fully healed from my relapsed postpartum depression, which my other psychiatrist has failed. He is reliable and picks up phones and returns calls almost immediately. He even calls every so often to ask how the patient is doing, which shows his concern and responsibility. However as you notice, one star is missing. Why is a good question? He is an awesome doctor however at times he can be very tough and seem quite aloof. I do See him smiling however, and I realized he smiles when he sees cooperation on the patients side. I'm at a very important time in my life as I break into public speaking, a…read morelong time dream of mine. I recently had two incredible opportunities to speak - one was for 150 people at a company's fundraiser and the other was for my very first TEDx Talk. The big issue was they fell a week apart. I was terrified I would not be able to get them both into my bones enough for them to flow naturally. I met with Jim Cullum and he suggested I use hypnosis for public speaking and memory and recall and I was so on board. After my first session of four, he sent me home having taught me this special process and I was to practice throughout the week before our second session. He shared inspiring stories of the doctors, attorneys and students he has helped study and pass their exams over the years. After I completed the sessions, I couldn't believe how much information I was able to retain in such a short period of time. Within a week I had the entire speech memorized and I no longer needed my paper. I was able to repeat it over and over in my mind and not rely on anything. I was able to do the same thing with my second speech and withing 2 - 3 weeks I had both speeches completely memorized. I truly believe this would have been much more time consuming and challenging without his help. I am forever grateful to Mr. Cullum form his amazing service that not only helped me, but made me feel more relaxed and safe during this nerve wracking time. When my father was diagnosed with kidney cancer that was only the tip of the battle. He grew…read moreincreasingly anxious and stressed leaving him to withdraw from family and friends. All attempts to get him to relax failed and only served to heighten his stress which - as his doctors explained - made it more difficult for his body to fight the cancer. A friend told me of Jim Cullum's hypnosis practice. I honestly did not think my father would agree to it but I contacted Jim anyway. We spoke for a while and I liked him. He was caring and very empathetic towards my father's situation. I explained my father was not strong enough to travel and Jim agreed without hesitation to come to my father's home.Surprisingly, my father was very receptive to the idea of hypnosis. Their first session was nearly two hours and there was an immediate change in my father that was visibly noticeable. He was calmer and the fear and anxiety that had been evident in his eyes for months was gone. He played and spent time with his grandchildren and he and my mother even managed a short getaway. He and Jim spoke several times by phone over the next several months and after each call there was a renewed relaxation to my father's body and I am certain, equally his mind. My father passed peacefully in his sleep a little more than six months after his first hypnosis session with Jim. I know those final months were happy months, free of fear because of the caring and compassionate effort Jim Cullum spent teaching my father to breathe and relax.
