This isn't my usual piercing place, but my friend goes here a lot and wanted me to try it, so I decided I'd give it a shot. My friend got her rook piercing and it happened so quick, it looked practically painless, and it made me excited for my piercing. Some backstory. I have multiple piercings on my ear and I have a belly button piercing. I also have a pretty high pain tolerance and usually make no noises of pain when getting pierced. I also have an industrial piercing and a daith. I decided for this day that I would get a nose piercing. I have never gotten a face piercing before and was extremely nervous since facial piercing pain is different than ears. However, after seeing my friend's piercing go so smoothly I felt better. That was unfortunately not the case My nose piercing took about 5 minutes, maybe longer when it should've taken way less. I guess I scrunched my nose up when my piercer was putting the jewelry in? so she struggled with that and just kept poking my nose over and over again trying to jam it through a hole that wasn't there. That's what hurt the most. I was in so much pain, writhing around and moaning in pain, I had never felt anything like it. It was so bad. I felt like I was going to pass out and I NEVER feel like that during piercings. I eventually took a break because I was feeling sick before continuing with the piercing. While the piercing is cute and I love it now, I don't feel comfortable coming back here I'm sure it wasn't the piercers fault, but for my own peace of mind, I'll stick to Barron Art. read more

I've visited this shop both at its previous location and its current one, and my experiences have been pretty mixed. My biggest concern comes from a nose piercing I had done at the old location. Unfortunately, the piercing became painful and infected, and I developed a small keloid that lasted for months. I've had more than 12 piercings over the years and have never dealt with an infection or keloid before, so that experience really stood out and left me hesitant to trust the shop with future piercings. These days, I only stop in for tongue rings. I appreciate that they're affordable and that the staff uses a clamp to handle the jewelry instead of grabbing it with their fingers, which is a small but important sanitary detail. What has been frustrating is the inconsistency in pricing. On my first visit, I was told the deal was two tongue rings for $10, but I only received one and never got the second ring I paid for. On my most recent visit, I was told the promotion was actually two for $5. When I tried to explain what happened previously, my concerns were brushed off without an apology or any attempt to make things right, which was disappointing. On top of that, I've been there twice in the past two months and their POS system has not been working either time. Because of that, they are currently cash only. It felt like a recurring issue rather than a one-off inconvenience, and it would definitely help the experience if payment systems were more reliable. I genuinely hope this business continues to improve because I'd like to keep supporting a local shop instead of traveling farther for body jewelry. The location is convenient, especially being right off the Yellow Line when parking in the area is limited, and there's definitely potential here. Better consistency, stronger customer service, and more attention to quality would go a long way toward rebuilding trust. read more

Vibe of the place is cool and the cashier was very friendly, but i came in for a septum piercing and it was mis-placed. I didn't get the piercers name when I went in, but I checked the piercers on their website and it looks like it was done by Rose. she told me that my sweet spot was supposedly lower in my nose, which I was skeptical of because I have felt it higher up before. So she pierced it and it was very painful because the needle went through a thick piece of cartilage that was def not my sweet spot. When I saw the piercing, I immediately asked her if it was too low and she said no. Lmfao I went to a different piercer afterwards to get a different professional piercer's opinion, and she immediately said this was the lowest placed septum she'd ever seen. She felt for my sweet spot again (which is supposed to be towards the tip of your nose) and said the piercer who did it completely missed it, so she removed it for me. I don't want to say to not come here because I like what they stand for, my point is just to research your piercers. make sure they know what they're doing and are reputable. I want to make a point that this was only one of the piercers there. someone else here at brown pride pierced my cousins + aunt's septum a different time and it came out fine. The guy that i wanted to do it doesn't work there anymore so they got this Brazilian guy with a dog to do it and he obviously didn't know what he was doing. Crocked piercing. Besides they don't have jewelry options they don't care about the right angles. I went there 3 years ago to get my 2nd and 3rd lobes done, the second was ok the thirds were angled and never healed. Yesterday a friend of mine convinced me to go there again and I chose to give them another try only if the have flat backs bc yes for the lobes they used butterfly back They said yes so I got my conch pierced only to realized that it has an angle as well like do you guys understand that angles matter ? STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP!!!! Came in looking to get small matching cross tattoos with my wife. Ended up paying about $180 each one. That's not even close to the worst part. Initially we were not disappointed with the results. It was small clean and basic nothing to crazy. So figured I could trust this shop with this tattoo. After a few days I noticed the tattoo begin to peel, and ink begin to flake off. After a week the letters and numbers were completely gone and the cross was half faded away. I called the shop to see if they could fix the tattoo and they said to come in to get it looked at. 3 weeks go by and I make my way back to the shop to speak to some manager there who barely speaks any English. And is the most disrespectful and terrible customer service person imaginable for a manager, who has the audacity to tell me that touch ups are $80.00 and that's the only way to get it fixed. I tried explaining that this wasn't a touch up situation. That it was a bad tattoo job. And a terrible piece of art. I tried explaining that the tattoos were half way done. He stated he's the manager and that he's the only person I can talk to and once again the only way to get it fixed was to pay the $80.00 touch up fee. He tried to tell me that since it was on the hand portion of the body, that those tattoos tend to fade and it's not their fault. Not sure how that works when the tattoo is almost completely gone after a week?? A one week old tattoo should not need a touch up. I would never ever step anywhere near this ghetto establishment if I were you. I could just imagine if I would've gotten a bigger piece how bad it would be for me. Thank goodness it was a small correctable piece where I can take my money elsewhere. No matter what specials or promotions they run stay away from this shop. Completely fraudulent. Anyway the girl who pierced my ears was super honest. She told me the piercing hadn't completely closed like I had thought and she could just put earrings in for me. And since I had already paid the $40 for the piercing they let me do a second ear piercing and I only paid $20 for the earring pair they put in my original lobe piercing. Great service! okay, this is going to be a very honest review of my experience here. i liked the vibe of the overall place. it was very fun and had a lot of pride here--my friend and i were really excited about the anniversary special across all locations for $10 for piercings. it is a great deal, and obviously it being busy was to be expected. HOWEVER , while i understand waiting in line for a while, they eventually told people to come back the following day with a voucher after already waiting two hours. not ideal, but it was cold and raining, and we could do it. then we had to wait another five hours on top of that wait the next day... i really think this could have been executed better for staff and for customers who were looking forward to the piercings, especially as we got closer to the line. i am only going to speak about the second day because that's when we actually received the piercings and realized there was only one piercer-- to me, this was so ridiculous. the wait was hectic and felt unprepared, but i felt more concerned for the piercer and how hard she had been working the entire time this deal was happening. i wish the work had been divided better or maybe even cut off so it wouldn't have been so overwhelming. regardless, the piercer was SO sweet and kind to my friend and me when we finally got our piercings. she was still energetic and welcoming to us, and i hope she gets the recognition and compensation she deserves because it was a lot. read more

I went in for ear piercings, I'm new to them, was excited. At no time, at no point was I told that 3-4 at a time should be MAX. Both the guy in the front and the piercer let me blindly proceed with EIGHT without warning or informing me that this is dangerous and can lead to infection as the body can't handle that many. It did not cross my mind, and I was completely trusting the piercer to inform me of anything I needed to know. I had to take half of them out, out of precaution for my health. Very disappointed that they'd withhold important information just to take my money. If she had said this was a bad idea I would've done 3 and returned for the rest later, but now I know to avoid this business completely, and I warn others to as well. I went yesterday to get two helix piercings and ended up having to take one out because of how crooked she pierced my right side. She was clearly not trained properly as she had to use two different needles to get it through. I have over 23 piercings that were all done at THIS brown pride and I have never seen a "professional" piercer have to use more than one needle on a piercing. She was a new girl I have never seen before (normally rose or the younger lady). She said her name was joss so before you go to this brown pride I suggest that you ask who is the piercer on shift and if it is joss do not let her touch you she will mess it up. It was so terrible and crooked you could see the flat back of the jewelry looking straight at me so unfortunate that I had to pay for 2 piercings and only ended up being able to keep one. read more

I came to get my dermal piercing switched and instead of telling me it was still healing and she was unable to get the piercing out , she wasted 3 different tools trying to take my piercing off and she actually pulled my piercing out of the surface from under my skin. * I went about a year ago* Writing this review now that my conch has been healed. I went and got my tragus and my conch pierced. Both were done with wrong jewelry. Tragus was pierced with a butterfly backing, so it rejected and the jewelry fell off within a week. I called and asked if I went if they can do it again with a flat back and they said I'd have to repay for them to do it correctly- considering they couldn't do it right the first time, I dismissed it. The conch was pierced with a curved barbell which now means I cannot put a straight flat back OR a hoop. I have multiple other piercing but the ones I've received here have been poorly done. I went to get my dermal piercing professionally removed. They had me pay first. Sat down, the piercer went to clean the piercing and she ended up wiping my piercing off out my skin. Came here to get my belly button pierced and ear NEVER AGAIN! Do not get pierced by the young girl with black hair at all, she pierced my belly button to the side and didn't pierce enough skin causing it to reject and leave a scar, she pierced my ear to the side as well, just overall a terrible piercer. Got a tiny heart Tatoo here and was nervous about getting it in red ink but the tattoo artist reassured me that I'd be able to get a touch up if I needed to which I ended up needing to because it faded within 8 months, I called and asked if it was possible to get a retouch and they said yes. When I went it they had the audacity to tell me I would have to pay 80$ for a retouch even though the tattoo was 50$ and they refused to accommodate. I've never had this happen with any tattoo shop or artist before. Extremly unprofessional and honestly their piercings and tattoos are pretty whack too. Piercings are cheap and that speaks volumes. I was pierced here for my nostrils.. I had mentioned that they were out for about 6 weeks, the piercer there wanted to check if the holes had fully closed, she pulled me to the back, BTW I didn't sign a form. Wasn't told to do. The piercer put the jewelry up to my nose and said "oh yeah this one is open a little" and SHOVED the jewelry in with out WARNING ! My other hole was closed and she just shoved the needle in... again with no warning.... I left and still didn't sign anything. I noticed my nose wouldn't stop bleeding and my piercings were done so wrong. I went back within 10 mins. Told the piercer that it was all crooked and she said "oh yeah I was going based off the previous holes but I'll fix it" she then "fixes" it and laughs because she said I was bleeding so much as if she "punched" me herself. I left. 3 weeks later, nose is still swollen, piercings still hurt and rejecting bad. I had to go to someone else to remove them. I came here today with my co workers and we all got piercings. One of my co workers got her nose pierced, the other got a 3rd lobe piercing, and I got the front helix piercing. All of our piercings were quick and painless for some haha. I cant speak on behalf of my sensitive crybaby co worker lol. The shop is very clean and the piercer did an amazing job. Prices here are very reasonable! The staff here were very friendly and helpful! This is my second time getting a piercing here and I will continue to come here for future piercings.... as if 16 piercings wasn't enough already. A few more couldn't hurt, right? HORRIBLE experience!!!! Never coming back here again. They need to check who they hire and how passionate they are about tattooing. I came with my cousins to get simple line tattoos and all of our tattoos were left unfinished or not filled in correctly. DONT go with Ozzie, from the beginning he didn't really care about the tattoos or anything no interest and did sloppy work. I'm not sure what ink they use or what but it's been almost a year since my tattoo and I get random pains, bumps, red irritated skin on the tattoo. I never EVER have had this problem with my other tattoos. Simple cherries tattoo and the 4 on the leaf was unfinished, and they aren't round just sloppy and crooked. My advice, go somewhere else. I always hide this tattoo because of how poor quality it is and trust me they do not CARE if they messed up or you're unsatisfied. It's basically get the tattoo over with, next customer, that's it. I went to get my Medusa pierced but the person that pierced me seemed to have been in a rush. Mind you, it was a slow day and no other client was in there. You go somewhere expecting an experience especially with the way they advertise their services. I've had 6+ piercings done here, have only ever had one problem before this one. This time, this piercer had no idea what she was doing. I have a high pain tolerance but this flat piercing hurt so so bad. Ive had my rook pierced, my nipples, my conch, helix, etc. I got pierced on Friday. Was in pain the whole day, was in pain on Saturday, and i finally took it off on Sunday night. I left the piercing in for 2 days and thats all I could handle. I took off this flat piercing which i assumed was a straight piece of jewelry... SHE PIERCED ME WITH A CURVED THICK BARBELL. Definitely not returning. I got a helix piercing and paid $10 extra for a flat back jewelry (the correct jewelry for an ear piercing...) and later found out I was pierced at a 20g instead of an 18 or 16, meaning I can't fit any standard earrings without stretching up. I called and asked if I can get it repierced at a bigger gauge and was told it would be $35 (even if I brought my own jewelry), despite me getting the piercing not even a week ago. Got a septum piercing here! Was very quick, in and out, service was great. A friend from University suggested this place because of its great quality and price range. I do not regret it and the people there are amazinggg! The first location i went to i believe downtown LA didnt have a piercer for me but they redirected me to the East LA location same day (quick 15 minute ride). While they accept walk ins I'd say call ahead if they have a piercer for you at a specific location at that time. I paid at the DTLA location and got it pierced quickly at the ELA location!
