Dad passed almost 20 years ago and this shotgun had been sitting in my camp, unloved and unused. There was a bad hitch in the rails so the pump action was anything but smooth and some type of feeding issue too. Tad was the gunsmith at Frank's who worked on the gun. He called me to review what I wanted before he started working which was appreciated. The gun was done on time and at a reasonable price. I picked up the gun a few days ago and it looked and worked like a brand new gun. I got it back to my camp and ran half a box of shells through it and couldn't be happier. Smooth and beautiful. It was a one level shop Bass Pro shop and it looked like when you walked. It looked like it went on forever, but it was just Big and Wfp level so everything was kind of like fit in there. It was nice and neat clean. Everything was beautiful. It was all arranged perfectly. It didn't look messy or overwhelming for me. It was amazing because everything that we've ever gone into. They've all been two and three floors but this one here was unbelievable great selection of products we found T-shirts to bring home to the kids. We found a really reasonable deal on baseball caps and they said you know that it was just from New York so that's why we had to get one cause we don't have one from this particular store and every time I travel with or without the other half I try to take and I'm always get him something from Bass Pro. But they were very very helpful to us because he walks really slow and we met people in the store that was super nice. One young man held the door open for my other half of the bathroom thank them for service and I made sure I told my mother how flight and wonderful they were and she's like wow thank you so much. The Customer people they went above and beyond. I was totally taken by the fact that they were so kind so patient we were looking for particular things we were able to find size extra large socks for a young boy size 14 shoes but we weren't able to find the shoes. Unfortunate. But they were super kind. They went out back and looked. They brought the guy out that runs at Dept. He looked for them. He finally found one package away in the back, which was awesome. I apologize. I don't remember his name we also got to see a nice display from one of the other sales people about the special kind of fishing and stuff to do and then check out. People were just top-of-the-line absolutely willing to help you no matter what I really feel like this is probably one of the better bass pros I've ever been into but also one of the most beautiful.

As an habitue of Army-Navy stores dating back to when they actually sold Army-Navy surplus, I will say that the typical confederate-flag quotient present at such stores is dialed way down here, relatively. There's pretty much no surplus at all, and only a smattering of camouflage gear for the weekend warrior wannabes. There's also almost no hunting gear, which is often a staple of such places, and while there are some unit patches and a few bits of military memorabilia, it is not a prominent part of the business. What they do sell here, and lots of, is durable outer gear and work wear for people who need heavy duty clothing for their work. They have a great selection of boots, coats, winter gear, reflective garb, uniform pieces for some trades, and a variety of similar items, including a lot of Carhartt gear. They were a little lighter on out and out safety gear, but I suppose a lot of that is supplied on the job, and Lowe's across the street has the basics there for non-heavy-duty-work safety gear. The prices are pretty much list, and to my chagrin they tell me they're not restocking winter stuff (as of January 2!) anymore, but that will teach me to gear up for winter in advance next time. They still did have plenty of stuff, just not exactly what I was looking for in my size. I have to give them a bit of a downtick on that front, what with the lack of discount the availability is what drives me personally. That said, they seem to be all by themselves in this niche in this neck of the woods, so I'll be back. I'll just have to shop for the duck decoys and used 50 caliber shell casings elsewhere. TIP TIP TIP: it's hard to get to. The parking lot entrance is between the store and the gas station, and it's really only easy to get into going south on State/Central, just below where Balltown comes in. You are better off coming in on the side street and turning into the back of the parking lot. When you exit, if you go immediately left, you can line up for the Dunkin's drive-through right away, which seems like a truly valuable pairing of retail establishments.

I walked in and was immediately greeted by the ladies working behind the counter who told me that it would just be a minute before someone could take a look at my gun. While I waited I browsed the shop and they had a bit of everything for sale from guns, ammo, clothing, and tons of accessories. After the owner did some research and took a look at the gun he told me what he could offer for it. The offer was more than both competitors combined... He even went out of his way to explain the current market and said if I ever did decide to sell he would honor that price. I didn't end up selling, I actually bought ammo instead. In the future, no matter if its to buy or sell, SWAT will have my business.

We spent another 15 minutes in the store looking at boots and wandering around but no one once asked if we needed help finding anything. The three men hadn't moved from their chat session as we left the store. Would never return.
