Great ambiance and drinks. Food menu is a little pricey so we only had drinks. We had the peanut butter shaft, aperol spritz jello shot, hey buckaroo, and chain famous. All the drinks were delicious and smooth. Chain famous is sweet, comes with a peach candy, and they say it's their version of an unfrozen bellini. The hey buckaroo is just lightly sweet and very tasty. The aperol spritz jello shot is prob the best jello shot I've ever had - not overly sweet or too strong. And the peanut butter shaft is just lightly peanutty, but again smooth and easy to drink. Happy hour might be something to check out. They have some food items as well as the more popular drinks. read more

I've got basically nothing good to say about this place. Overpriced, subpar food, with mediocre portions, and unexciting beer list. I got forced to come here for dinner with some family that has some picky eaters. They have one veganizable option -- a tofu stirfry ($25!!!), that can be made vegan by omitting the yogurt. Insulting price given the portion and poor quality. The dish comes with a small portion of white rice, 6 cubed pieces of tofu, and mixed veggies, smothered in a sickly sweet, totally low effort teriyaki sauce. Anyone could make a better version of this at home for 1/5th the price. Beer-wise, they have 20 taps, but they're scraping the bottom of the barrel in terms of BC beer. Only 16 oz pours, nothing smaller -- very lame. There's zero reason to come here for beer. Service is friendly but it's mostly low IQ dunderheads who don't seem to follow the plot. Useless place. I will never come back. Just a sad, sad place. It's one of those places there's not even a point in giving feedback to because the very concept of the place is so terrible to begin with. A lovely addition to Main Street! The server was so friendly and upbeat and the inside is comfortable with a great bar. I don't drink but I could see this as a great place to relax at after work. They have a genourous patio as well. Shrub & soda was amazingly tart and delicious. The Faux-jito was so refreshing, especially great for a hot summer day. I'm interested in trying the Island Escape. Chips & guacamole was pretty good but it's hard to mess that one up. The chips had some seasoning sprinkled on it. The fried chicken poutine and little chicken quesadilla were also decent. The star was the fried chicken in the Mac and cheese - so crispy and juicy! Looking forward to trying some more of their food for a quick bite with friends later this summer. Limited paid street parking. read more

First things first, this spot is not to be confused with Browns Socialhouse. While they have similar menus, it is a spinoff from the Socialhouse brand. Located on the corner of Main and 16th, this spot is always bustling - even during Covid times. All the staff are wearing masks, hand sanitizer is provided at the front of the restaurant, tables are socially distant with plexiglass in between, and menus are accessed through a QR code on the table. Like I said, their menu is quite similar to Socialhouse, with a few different items. I've mostly come here for happy hour, but after a few different trips, I've tried a bunch of different things. Food wise, I've tried the yam fries, crispy cauliflower, pesto and prawn 'za, dirty tots, and chili wontons. On my most recent visit, I got the cauliflower, and it was a bit too oily for my liking, but other than I've been a fan of every other dish. Drink wise, I've had the jello shots, cucumber mint mule, smoked pineapple, and the doctor's orders. I've always loved the drinks - strong, flavourful, and hits the right spots. Service has always been extremely friendly and helpful. Even on busy happy hour evenings or weekends, the service has always been great! I ordered off skip the dishes. I got the chicken tacos and Oreo cheesecake dessert. I was pleasantly surprised since I've never ordered from this place. I really enjoyed the Oreo cheesecake. Visiting Vancouver during NBA playoffs proved to be challenging when trying to find a place to watch the Warriors game. We had dinner ressies near Browns so decided to call ahead to see if Browns could play the Warriors game for us. The person who answered the phone checked with another person in the bar and told me that they would be able to play the game on one of their TVs for us. So we headed over there before game time only to be told by the manager that they couldn't play the game for us. He said many of the fans wanted to watch hockey and baseball so he can't change any of their 7+ TVs to the Warriors game even though some of the TVs were not being watched by anyone. Since we were already seated at the bar and it wasn't the bartender's fault we couldn't watch the game, we decided to order a drink while we checked Yelp for other nearby places. The couple next to us struck up a convo and we learned that they are regulars at the pub. The lady told us to take our business elsewhere since Browns was so unaccommodating. She suggested we try Good Co a couple of blocks away. We finished our drinks and headed out. Browns is a typical pub, dark and sticky feeling, nothing out of the ordinary and definitely not a place I will come back to when in town again. read more

I was happy with the service and food here. First of all, seating is fairly well-spaced and there is plenty of air moving through the place. Doors open to the outdoor patio which spills onto the street. For COVID safety measures, the menu is online, plexiglass is placed between each table/seating area (even at the bar), the washrooms seem clean and servers are wearing masks. Happy hour has a decent menu. $5 pint of Social lager and $6 pint of IPA as well as wine for the same price. There are a few happy hour food options. I had the fried cauliflower ($6), which comes with a tasty dipping sauce, and the pork taquitos ($7). It all tasted good, especially the taquitos, which have pork mixed with cheese, jalapeño and yogurt sauce. It's a good place for happy hour and the rest of menu looked good. They also seem to like music from the 80s/90s here, at least today they did. read more

I have to say I've been coming here for years and I am not impressed by the menu or pricing anymore. It's changed to the point that a side of fries is $10 on happy hour . Really I can get truffle fries at cactus club much cheaper and better tasting. The happy hour items are less and not so enticing.. really miss their signature dirty tots for example. Someone needs to seriously look at this menu and make some changes if they want to get more business. On a happy note the bartender makes great drinks and the waiters are great! read more

I was hesitant about this restaurant coming to the neighborhood as past visits to a Browns were disappointing at best. My overall experience here was fairly positive. The bad: a massive television which was playing football when we went . Our server was over the top friendly which came off as disingenuous. The wine list was not great with only 4 reds and 4 whites ( I know, I know, it's a beer place ). The good: my husband said his pizza was good and my kale salad was great ( but why are we still putting dried cranberries in salad? ) There were a few other gf choices on the menu which was nice to see. Prices were reasonable, particularly during happy hour. I look forward to warmer days when the patio is open. Questions: with every washroom being individualized why are they gender specific? Seems rather passé no? What's with all the IPA's? No brown ales and no stout other than Guinness. read more

Nice decor. Overly friendly and massively over tattooed waitress. Not one review mentions the KITCHEN FEE, charged on the bill. Like we aren't paying enough tax in Beautiful British Columbia? After my experience with other Brown's restaurants I wasn't expecting much, but this new location is very new and also very close to where I live, so my wife and I gave it a shot. I'd say the experience was a bit better than with other Brown's locations, but it's still not great. The beer is cold, the service is good - fast and friendly, and their food is ok but nothing exceptional. The epitome of a 3 star establishment. Like most chain restaurants, they try and have a little bit of something for everybody, rather than focusing on a small menu and making it excellent. Their Thai wings are pretty good, although the Nashville wings were disappointing (we took the majority of them home, baked them the next day and tossed them in Frank's which improved them). The dirty tots are decent, as were the taquitos, and all at a decent price. There are quite a few flat screen TVs playing sports, which I find distracting, but I knew they'd be there and we came anyway. Will we be back? Probably yes because of its convenient location, but food (what we've tried so far at least) is very average. Decent happy hour specials though. read more

Stumbled into this location with my mother, husband and nine month old during the soft opening. It was already bustling despite it not being officially open. We used to frequent the Kits location and recently moved to Mt. Pleasant area so this spot is a welcome addition to Main street's options. I came in for a Saturday Lunch about 3 days after they opened. First impressions, they did a great job with decor, awesome menu, and good amount of craft beers. Went to Browns Crafthouse for the first time. It was a Friday night and relatively busy! They accommodated my friend and I immediately with a beautiful 4 top booth in the corner!!!! We were greeted immediately by a stunning server named Sonia! She recommended some drinks and they arrived astonishingly fast! The GM Lewis introduced himself and recommended appetizers! Both of the drink and food recommendations were AMAZING! We then requested a special order for food and they accommodated no problem!!! Would definitely come again!! Let me start by saying the overall experience was pleasant and they have an absolutely fantastic space, inside or outside (covered patio). However, it felt very corporate and not Main St like at all. The beers are 385ml pour, which is 13oz - shamefully tiny for the prices (between $6-8). The pizza tasted like cardboard and the personal size was between $16-20, and the nachos was small and missing ample ingredients ($19). Nothing compared to the nachos from glorious days of The Foundation. Service was great however, and they did have a decent choice in beers. Come if you want to chill & hang, but not super hungry. I've been to this Browns twice since it opened a few days ago. The interior is fun (though random, with a mishmash of pugs, bucks and dark weathered wood). Love the placement of screens, communal tables, and the giant garage doors for the patios (this place will be packed for the summer). Very family friendly, and SUPER accommodating to parents and their giant bulky strollers (this is my constant fear - that I'll be shamed away from restaurants because of all my baby baggage), but staff are so helpful and welcoming. I do appreciate that as a mom coming to eat alone with her baby, the lovely hostesses and waitresses make the effort to chit chat. Moving on to food: I've sampled the Thai wings, gyoza, crispy shrimp, Hana Poke, California burger and the Oreo jar. Everything was generously portioned and delicious, except the gyoza; not terrible, but not remarkable. Hopefully a brunch menu in the future? :) read more

Our delivery order was short one burger and the manager initially refused any further customer service beyond refunding the missing burger. However, she called back a minute later. Jason the chef had offered to personally deliver it to us and he arrived a short time later with the burger, fries and two complimentary beers. I just cannot understand who designed the interior and exterior...like, how were all of the pug phrases and references brought up in an executive meeting?! Everyone was just like...'ya, love pugs, work quotes about them in everywhere'. Bad layout. When busy the entrance is awful, nobody knows who's coming or going. The share tables for a chain restaurant were a mistake. No privacy and the servers cant figure out who's in which group. Food is about average, and music is way too loud. Would NOT recommend, pretty disappointed. read more
