I order take out and it was pretty good. Cajun chicken salad hasn't too spicy for my tastebuds but chicken was tender and juicy. Friend amazing and burger full of good bacon. Friendly service.

I met a bunch of friends here. It was Wing Wednesday and the place was packed. I got there a little late so I don't know if they had to wait for a table before I got there or if they had a reservation; there were some people waiting outside. Seating arrangements were cramped. The vibe is your standard neighbourhood pub. Our waitress was attentive despite how busy they were. The menu is basic pub food. Entree options for vegetarians are limited to the Impossible burger, but there are more vegetarian appetizers. The Impossible burger was good. I won't say it was totally not greasy but it wasn't TOO greasy. Scratched my burger itch. I ordered it with the side salad which was fresh. There's a good beer selection with something in pretty much every style and some kind of interesting stuff. My Container Brewing Nitro Stout was great. This isn't a place I'd pick out because the menu is so limited and the bar crowd isn't really my vibe, but I had a good experience anyway so I would have no problem coming here again if it's what my friends wanted.

No competition nearby, so East Side Craft House doesn't need to raise its game. It's wonderful to be the only pub/bar in the vicinity. It also helps if your pub/bar is attached to a liquor store, and across from a gas station. It also helps if your pub/bar is at a major intersection (Knight and 41st); you've got buses heading to/from UBC all day, all night. And you've got buses going to and from the downtown core and Richmond. So, East Side Craft House doesn't have to have the best prices, nor the largest selection of drinks and food, nor an upscale décor. All it has to do is just be there. So, the food menu is rather limited; most of the usual suspects, but don't expect a dozen different flavours for the chicken wings. Also, the 30+ craft beers on offer seems plenty, until you visit other places that have triple digit selections. Prices are merely okay, but I'd rather drive a little further down to Kingsway to get a larger burger platter for not much more at White Spot. On our most recent visit, our table was positioned at a right angle junction with another table which meant one of our group was elbow to elbow with a person from the other group. During COVID, this should be avoided. Bathrooms are upstairs, so if you gotta go, make sure your bladder can withstand the extra pressure of going up a flight of stairs. Overall, an okay pub/bar, but there are plenty of better options if you're willing to drive a little further.

Dog-Friendly spacious heated patio and great beer selection! Great big patio space! The patio is surrounded by bushes and trees so it doesn't feel like you are in the East side at all. There were also lots of room for me to lay down beside my humans while they eat. Staff was great! I was offered water as soon as we entered. They come out to the patio to take your order so I don't need to be left alone outside. While the patio is not covered, there are umbrellas for shade. There are also patio heaters but it wasn't on when we were there. Humans said the food is good for pub-style dining. Crispy chicken sandwich was moist and we appreciated the curly fries! Staff was really great and super friendly but service was a little slow due to the amount of people and not so much staff. Great selection of beer

Our server suggested that, because it was happy hour, a pitcher would be cheaper and save us money. I specifically asked how many ounces the pitcher was and was told 32 oz, which sounded reasonable since we planned to get 15 oz beers. When the pitcher arrived, it was clearly 64 oz. The server apologized for the mistake, and I let it go, thinking we didn't have to drink it all. However, when the bill arrived, the price didn't match the quote. We were charged $25, not the $20 we were originally told when the 64-oz pitcher showed up, with the explanation that the regular price was $35 and that we had "saved" money. In the end, we were served twice the beer we wanted and paid twice what we intended, based on information that kept changing. Whether this was incompetence or intentional, it left me feeling frustrated and uncomfortable. The food and atmosphere really were great -- but the experience was overshadowed by feeling manipulated. Enjoy the food and beer, but pay close attention to what the wait staff tells you and what ends up on the bill.

Firstly when we arrived nobody greeted us for I would say about 10 minutes even though the place was quite empty when we arrived, and when we finally received a table we were seated at a table that was wobbly, and the menus we received were stained and sticky, which got me immediately on edge about hygiene and made me uncomfortable. For drinks selection - nothing special that you can't get anywhere else, and the place being quite empty the vibe was quite boring too. I just felt uncomfortable being there and there isn't anything special about this pub that you can't get better anywhere else. We finished the one drink that we got and headed elsewhere. I wouldn't recommend this spot.

Features bar seating, booths, comfy chairs with fireplace, and an upper level with large table seating for big groups. Had many a great night here over many years as it provided a nice respite from all the crazy nightclub activity on Granville St. Sadly, they will be closing soon and will be dearly missed. The memories of the Morrissey Pub will live on in those who frequented it, and I will cherish mine.

This corner spot is neatly tucked away with a few outdoor seating spots, but the magic in itself is inside. The mix of vintage and old glam showcases the hybrid aesthetic. Perfectly described, The Ballyhoo definitely lives up to the over-the-top decor from their food offerings and styling. I managed to find myself arriving within happy hour and was super please I was able to bring my laptop out and get some work done without it causing anyone a fuss. The server I had was super friendly and she had all the tables she was handling in good spirit. After opting for a local draft beer and some bites, I kept over hearing how delicious the mozz sticks were. Now IDK how one levels up mozzarella sticks, but these truly were some of the best I've ever had. The dipping sauce was super spicy but bearable for anyone's heat preference and the breading and cheese inside had such a burst of flavor you wanted to simply inhale them. What had me in awe though was the cheese pull game. No need to fear about them being overdone not cooked enough, these babies were cooked to perfection with the cheese literally oozing out of each bite. I saw a few plates being served around and think this spot is definitely worth exploring.
