Jamison and heroes fashioned
Pamela B.

The crowd is super young but there is a good vibe and great music was playing. Went up to the bar and ordered two drinks. The bartenders were super nice and attentive. I had a Jamison mule which was delicious and my boyfriend had a heroes fashioned which he enjoyed very much. There's a game room in the back so you can literally spend all night here. Definitely recommend.

I had a chance to recently check out Hero's Welcome when attending the Vancouver Story Slam. It's a chill pub with plenty of space and a good selection of drinks. They offer food in the form of snacks, salads, sandwiches, and hot dogs. There's a side area with two pool tables and games such as pinball, foosball, and skeeball as well. My party of 4 came by Thursday evening around 6:15 pm and it wasn't too crowded yet. We snagged a table in front of the stage. We shared a pitcher of The Brigadier ($35), which is their take on sangria with some added ingredients. One pitcher is enough for 4-5 people to share. It was very good, though definitely on the sweet side. I ate before coming, so I didn't get any food, but my friends ordered the nachos to share. They enjoyed it, but it took forever to arrive as apparently there was only one guy working in the kitchen that night. Metered parking is available near the bar, but we found residential parking nearby for free.

Love the sourdough crust pizza! Might be one of the best in the city. Excellent service and lively atmosphere. Always a go to for me when hosting friends from out of town.

Fun and lively live music venue and bar. Often caters to an older crowd who like to dance and have fun. Staple drinks, darts, and food.

Also, it's a good idea to come after a hearty meal to fully appreciate the alcohol. As you step into this bar from the bustling streets of Vancouver, you're instantly transported to a humid, tropical paradise. The theme is all around you, and you're suddenly in Hawaii, ready to order a mai tai. We began with the mystery bowl, and each bowl comes with its own unique song and flair, making it a fun experience. Whether it's the fire, the smoke show, or the lights flashing in the background as everyone turns to see what you've ordered, it's all part of the show. Besides the bowls, be sure to order your own drinks, as they have something for everyone. Their menu is easy to read, so you can already picture the drink you're about to enjoy. Overall, this is a wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion with their whimsical drinks.

We sat indoors with the option to be seated outdoors with heated lamps but we didn't want to smell the smoke from people smoking outside. We ordered the Dark Spell Latte, Albedo Spritz, and Final Word. The Dark Spell Latte is like an espresso martini with chocolate syrup added, which is pretty solid. The Albedo Spritz is a red wine cocktail with hard liquor, and stood out to me as they had 5oz of alcohol so this was fairly strong, but I would imagine most of the ounces came from the wine itself. I liked the gold dusted blackberry. The Final Word is fruity and smoky, which I enjoyed, but not warrant a hefty price tag compared to the other drinks. Service is decent and in line with other restaurant bars. Overall, solid drinks at okay prices that I can see myself recommending this spot. Given the name, it would be great to see more alchemy themed cocktails or decor as what draws me as a frequent bar goer is themed and unique drinks.

A Pleasant Surprise in a New City…read more While aimlessly wandering through a new city, I stumbled upon this spot and figured, "Why not?" With only a handful of patrons inside, my skepticism was high, but the visit turned out to be a positive one. I started with a light crisp draft beer that hit the spot perfectly. For food, I only took appetizers...the roasted brussels sprouts and chicken wings. Both are what you would expect from typical bar fare - tasty, well-prepared and satisfying without blowing you away. Nothing extraordinary, but nothing disappointing either. The vibe is ideal for catching up with friends. The front outdoor patio sits right along side a busy street, yet the noise level stayed comfortable enough for easy conversation. It felt a bit quiet during my Monday afternoon visit on a public holiday, but I can easily see it being a lively and fun hangout on a weekend. Overall, this was a decent spot and a good find. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the neighborhood.

The second time around wings were better than the first ie my first review! They were crispy, still juicy inside and sauced real well. I've also had their smash burger which has been my favourite meal so far, it's absolutely delicious!! The double patty double cheese with pickles and onions is like a gourmet fast food burger - it has everything you need! It comes with choice of curly fries or regular fries or a salad, always get the curlies they're really good! I also love their Cesars, always really tasty which I find can be hard to nail at restaurants - this one is really good! Service is good, sometimes a touch slow if it's a busy night but always super friendly. The Saturday night crowd is always buzzing because of trivia and it's a fun time all around. We will be back plenty!

I've always wanted to do something like this but have been a bit nervous to do so but he made the class fun, funny, and so easy! You have the chance to make 3 bespoke artisan cocktails during this 3 hour class, 2 of their signatures and then the 3rd Aaron let us pick! He made it so easy and explained each step well, also how to use the tools properly along with sharing some great tips on shaking, measuring and also the importance of balance in your cocktail. I enjoyed every minute as well as consuming the cocktails after... each so delicious made with their in house liquors. If I had room I would have bought several bottles with me to take home!

Aaron came out as we were looking for Plan B and let us know the event had just ended and they were open again. (5 loud cheers on the street for sure!) I tried both the Kyoto and Wet Work, enjoying them both. They would even work as a blend of one another. My dad accidentally ordered a chocolate martini instead of an espresso martini, and Aaron made it happen. (The entire table loved it! Take that poured over some ice cream and I'd be far too content!) My brother had the gin martini, and while not a fan of gin straight up, it had a nice smooth finish that I could appreciate.
