The moment they called our number and I picked up the tray, it was immediately clear that average would be a stretch goal for this meal. The onion rings were poorly breaded and undercooked. The fried clams were overbreaded and barely adequate. The lobster bisque tasted more like boiled shells than lobster, which may explain the complete absence of actual meat in the bisque. The coleslaw tasted straight out of a Sysco bag--ironically the least disappointing part of the meal. My husband and adult children have been coming here for 7 years. we use to go to Markies across the street. Browns was above them when we switched 7 years ago. This week we went on 8/2 and 8/8. Both times the young men working were struggling. Adding the total order in the lobster order line was painfully slow. No receipts were ever offered, so we could check the math. On 8/8 at 2:30 pm, 3-4 of these men pulled out their phones to look at stuff and share what was on their screens. Not to just use the calculator. one of the fellows was eating while putting food out on the counter by the lobster register. The employee at the steamer counter on 8/8, 3pm, snatched the number slip out of my daughter's hand. The steamer staff on 8/2 were very friendly. We ordered 3 large lobsters and a clam plate. The 3 lobsters were on one tray and the cardboard boxes they come in leaked all over the table when removed. I suggest that each lobster gets its own tray to make eating a cleaner process. There were lobster eggs in at least 2 of these lobsters. The lobsters were not split open nearly enough. [[HIGHLIGHT]]btw there was a table of four adults just using the picnic table to have a picnic with drinks, cheese and cracker platter, fruit platter and pie for dessert. One piece of haddock, 3 shrimps, 1 scallop cut into 4 bite size, little bit of fries, few clamps strips. This is 40 dollars platter. The clam chowder was still good. Their lobster bisque is just cream and flour, barely any lobsters. Prob food coloring. The service is meh, open more windows during rush hour, take peoples orders, learn how to optimize the season like chic fillet. We came to this area to grab some fireworks for the 4th of July. We decided to look if we can get some live lobsters in the area but ended up going to this place along the highway. There were lines but I waited for a bit to get some food anyway. We got the crab cakes, corn on the cob and some haddock sandwich. I think we waited for like 20 or so minutes before we got our food. My crab cakes we dry and on the burnt side, my sons corn was okay considering it was just boiled and they just added butter on the side. My husbands sandwich was totally wrong, they gave him a burger with a tartar sauce on the side, we didnt complain cause we didnt want to wait another half an hour so he just ate it and called it a day. They only take cash which my husband was aware of but I never carry cash anymore. They did have an atm on site but I heard there was a $2 service fee. We love the open concept dining experience with the option to bring your own beverages (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) for a casual & enjoyable dining experience. We feel they make one of the best lobster rolls around. The clam chowder is good but used to be better....a little light on the goodies. The steamers also used to be good but this time we actually had to return them because of the sand. They did without question refund us the cost of the steamers.
