I won't lie, I was not thinking I'd like Fish and Chix as much as I did. But I'm happy to be wrong! I was up visiting some friends and we were trying to find a take out dinner spot. They had been here before and wanted to try the smash burgers. I'm a fan of seafood so I ordered the scallop plate. At only $18 I wasn't expecting much. We placed the order and made our way to the restaurant where it was already all set for us! The cashier who checked us out was friendly and the building itself was nicely decorated and spacious. It was busy for a Friday night but not jam packed. When we got home I noticed that they forgot my tartar sauce- a bummer. But the food itself more than made up for the momentary disappointment. The portion size was huge for the price! There must have been atleast 16 scallops in there. Even though we ordered take out the food was still nice and crispy. The batter was excellent and the fries had a great crunchy coating. I would highly recommend Fish and Chix to anyone in the area. I'm happy there is a seafood place that specializes in fried seafood near where I live. I ate here twice and the thing that jumped out at me was how fresh the fish was! I enjoyed it. The owner is nice as were the staff. My only complaint was the second time I went, the music was either too loud or I'm too old. Haha. This is an unassuming place in a strip mall and we were hungry coming back from New Hampshire so we dove in. Ordered up a fried chicken sandwich and a fried fish sandwich. They both come with french fries and a bottle of water. One would think that it was just an average place. When we bit into the chicken it was one of the better sandwiches I've had and I could say the same about the fish. The french fries were firm, not soft or soggy and have a coating on them that make them delicious. No, this is not a fine dining restaurant. You don't come here for the ambiance. It's a strip mall but I would say I'm going to make it a regular place that I stop in coming back down from New Hampshire. Not too expensive. Whenever I buy whole belly fried clams I take a photo to send to my mother in Los Angeles to make her jealous. I didn't send her these. They are an embarrassment. I bought a $32 mkt price whole belly fried clams with mashed potatoes ($1 upgrade) and it came out to $35. This is the price I expected to pay. I did not expect to see almost no clams in my box. I live in LA where it is very difficult to find fried clams and have been visiting family in New England for the past six weeks. I have gotten clams at probably 6-7 different places since I have been here including at the Clam Box in Ipswich, on the drive to Acadia, in Acadia NP, in Boston when going to Fenway, when visiting other cousins etc. Any chance I can! Everywhere else I have been has been similarly priced but at least 2-3x the clams. This is the last weekend before I leave. My cousin offered to take me to the Clam Box again (which matches the hype!) but I didn't want her to drive me that far and wait in line etc. so we went to the nearest place in town. I did not go in expecting the same quality but from the little I know about getting clams in New England, this portion size is very very far from normal. Fish & Chix opened in November 2025 in Derry, next to the NH 28/Ashleigh Drive intersection. This fast casual seafood & chicken eatery serves up fried seafood, fried apps, fish tacos, lobster rolls, sandwiches, hot dogs, fried chicken (wings & tenders), chowder, chicken chili, and ice cream (hurri-cones). They also have Pepsi fountain drinks, beer (draft & cans) and wine. The place is order at the counter and there is ample table seating. You're given a number stand to place on your table and your food is brought out. I stopped by Fish & Chix for dinner recently. The place was fairly busy on a Tuesday night with a short line. I ordered the Wharf Boss ($24 plus tax), which came out to my table in 8 minutes after ordering and paying. This fried seafood basket had shrimp, scallops, clam strips & bellies, fried fish, and crispy fries, tartar sauce provided, ketchup on table. The portion was modest and the seafood was fresh and coated with a crispy greasy coating, but falling off. The fried shrimp were cleaned and de-tailed, nice! The skinny fries had a rough crisp texture. I finished the seafood basket in house. The fried seafood basket was pretty good for this area. Since I live nearby, I will have to come back to try the other things like the fish tacos, surf & turf smashburger, mac & cheese, clam cakes, and raspberry lime ricky hurri-cone. read more

Finally got to this place. I personally like the atmosphere. The service was great. You order at counter and they give you a number for table and they bring your food. Refill station for your soft drinks were great. Food! I first ordered the clam cakes. When I first saw a place coming to town having clam cakes I was smiling. I'm from Rhode Island and I been eating Clam Cakes for many years. Not my liking. I ordered the combo, half fish half chicken. Absolutely amazing. The portion was huge and hot and GREAT. The food was ok, the fish could have been bigger pieces not just nuggets. I thought since we're a fish and chicken restaurant that they would have more choices of fish plates. The kitchen seems to be somewhat disorganized. I ordered the fish chips which took about 1/2 hour to get. I was the only person in there and they had been open for over a half hour. The fries were cold and the fish was ok. The interesting part is that the owner only replies to 5 star ratings, if you don't know about the issues then you can't fix them. In my opinion the 5 stars don't need the replay the lesser stars do. Just remember that if that's a long time to get a following and happy customers, but only minutes to lose them. read more

First time there today. Thought I would get the haddock sandwich and had a choice to substitue Fries for Onion rings. The batter on the fish was light and the sandwich was amazing! They give you a large piece of fish on a bed of lettuce with tartar sauce and I was very happy. The onion rings were delicious as well. The batter was just right and they had a great flavor. I am very pleased with my first visit and will be going back for sure. The pricing was very reasonable. While I did get my food order to go, I seating area is spaced out and very clean and bright. I was pleasantly surprised! Went in, assuming it was like a fast food joint, but it blew my under expectations out of the water. The food was delicious and hot. The service was fast and friendly, and the manager/owner came over and talked with our table and she was super pleasant! I had fish tacos that were amazing, quite large and very filling and fresh The onion rings were to die for and the chicken was piping hot and delicious. They also have alcohol if you're interested! The vibe in the place is interesting with younger generation music, some high top tables and some regular hike tables, but very clean and cute decor with the chickens pictures. Second of all I'm very disappointed in my experience because I ordered the chocolate brownie sprinkler and requested charred marshmallow on top. I received no hot fudge no chocolate sprinkles and honestly a shameful amount of whipped cream also no charred marshmallow. what is the point of calling it the chocolate brownie sprinkler if it doesn't come with sprinkles, very disappointed and I hope that the employees are retrained on how to make a milkshake. Shameful. Honestly, I better be getting a full refund. Also, at the time I came, they had no peanut butter so I had to get a separate milkshake that I didn't want. First time here but it won't be the last! Fresh white fish coated and fried was delicious! No greasy fingers, just clean, tasty fish. I chose potato salad as a side and I enjoyed that very much. A mixture of diced potatoes and mashed potatoes, seasoned lightly. I tried the tartar sauce and wasn't expecting much, I've had it from some places as a vinegary mush. This tartar sauce was excellent. Tangy but not vinegary, it was a great accompaniment to the delicious meal. The inside of this establishment was super clean. I purchased a Clam Plate, Scallop Plate and Side Order of Fries yesterday. All was excellent! I didn't expect the food offering to be so good. And the prices are exceptional. Their space is extremely clean and appealing. Glad they set up shop in Derry, NH. I live in Londonderry, NH so it is next door. We want them to be successful to stay and serve. Tried the brand new Fish & Chix on Manchester Rd in Derry. It was amazing!! It's like a beach plum and chic filet in one but much better/fresher food. The restaurant also has a bar (did not order a drink, but looks like they had beer, wine, mixed drinks.) I had the fried clams (with bellies) and they were so well done and fresh. My friends got the fish tacos and said they were outstanding. Will def be back. I could not get over the prices either. Last time I got a clam dinner at Beach Plum it was $29. My meal today was $18 and had a healthy portion of clams, fries and slaw. And if you only want the clam strips, it's even cheaper. Our first time at Fish & Chix was a good experience overall. I believe they deserve better than a 4 star rating, but I will include a couple of comments later in the review that I wish I had known before ordering. The place is very clean and there are plenty of tables. There were a lot of young people working there who were super polite and professional, from taking our order to cleaning the tables as soon as people left, to serving our food. I'll call them kids, but they were very adult-like. Kudos to the management for their hiring, training and supervision. That's not something you see at many restaurants these days. The food was served quickly and was hot and fresh. The prices were excellent. My wife got the fish tacos and loved them. I got the wings/fish combo and although it was very tasty, I was surprised to see only two flat wing pieces in my basket. I would suggest they add to their menu the quantities of chicken and fish pieces that come with each dish or a photo somewhere showing what each plate/basket looks like. The basket also came with 3 fresh fish pieces that were delicious. An even number of wings and fish pieces would have been what I expected. The breading/batter is seasoned to perfection and definitely not fried in old oil. In my opinion it was a little too much batter on the wings, but that's just a personal preference since I usually like unbreaded wings with a crispy skin. The fries were also very tasty, hot, and crisp, (I wish they were cut a little thicker.) Now that I've been there, I'll know more of what to expect when I go back and will try some of their other menu items. read more
