We were seated right away which is nice. The atmosphere here is really fresh. Service was also really good. My friend and I both ordered things we haven't had before. I had the Tuna and crunchy noodles and we shared a pie of key lime pie which we ate so fast and forgot to take a photo of. It is worth all the calories!!!! I live in south Edmonton and was on my way to Morinville to house/cat sit for my son, with my Mom who is 88. We had dined at this locations a few times through the years, and we were very impressed, especially with the fish and chips and the cauliflower appy. We decided to treat ourselves that day, March 24, at around 2pm, and we ordered the cauliflower appy and fish and chips to share; we are not cheap, just not big eaters. I ordered a glass of wine which was apparently sold out. Our server did let me try 2 alternatives wine samples, and I gratefully chose one. Our server was doing double duty; serving inside and outside on the patio. We were not n a rush, and when our food came, separated into two plates, we were impressed; however, after our food was delivered, it was 5 mins. before we got utensils (I noted that an empty table beside us had utensils that could have been served to us immediately. Still optimistic, we used our fingers to try the cauliflower and chips. The chips were luke warm, and the cauliflower was definitely not tempera battered as we had previously loved and experienced. They were barely cooked and breaded. Our French fry's were Luke warm and once we got our cutlery to try our fish, it was quite browned on the outside but pasty on the inside. Too hot an oil I think! Our server did not have time to come back to check if our food was satisfactory until we were ready for the bill. She asked if everything was alright, and I told her that honestly the fries were good, but cold, and the fish was pasty. She apologize; however, we got the full bill for very disappointing and barely eaten food! Will not be wasting money at this restaurant anytime soon. Very disappointed! I have had poke bowls in so many places around the country and was disappointed in the portions of the ingredients and the flavor and texture of the rice. Tried someone's fries. They seemed soggy. One of the fries you could taste the oil. Was the fryer hot enough? How long did they sit before being served? Maybe this is a good place for happy hour! Surprisingly.... an all around great experience at Brown's on a Saturday afternoon. This is the 4th Brown's location in Alberta that I have visited, and each time is pretty "meh". I'm glad I decided to give it another chance. Seating is very limited due to Covid restrictions, but I'm so happy to see that they are taking it seriously. I have a slight obsession with trying Poke bowls at different restaurants.. so of course that's what I went for here. It was put together really well. The ingredients tasted really fresh. We shared a slice of key lime pie to finish up, and I'm so glad we did. This is definitely my favourite... the crust is delicious and the filling is velvety smooth. Highly recommended! read more

Honestly I am surprised I haven't already rated this place! I thought I had but here goes. Way before covid this was a fav spot to go. It is a Browns so the menu is standard but I have never went to a Browns and been disappointed. Love the dynamite rolls or dry ribs to start. The burgers are great, the ramen is great, the butter chicken is great as are the fish tacos. The Oreo cheesecake dessert is to die for. Thats me gushing over the food. The service has always been great and like all Browns it has a chill vibe. In the summer the "patio" is awesome to sit on. Great place for a nice pre movie meal. read more

I was recently diagnosed with Celiac Disease, so it is hard to find places that take it seriously, and can accommodate. This establishment was no different than most. We stopped at Brown's St. Albert to enjoy happy hour before a movie at Landmark. When we walked in, we were the only four guests in the restaurant. The manager made a weird comment about if we were sure we didn't want to go to Brewhouse across the way, and we thought that maybe they wanted to close up early since it was so dead, he clarified that was not the case - so we chalked it up to a weird joke because of how dead it was. My friends were all good to eat or drink whatever, so they were not picky and enjoyed the happy hour offerings. My husband had buffalo wings which he quite enjoyed, and he and I shared Edamame beans. I asked if it was possible to make the Dynamite Rolls gluten free, and was told that with a few changes it could be done. I was informed that if I ordered anything deep fried, there could be cross contamination, but the fryers were "just cleaned". I passed on any fried options. When my food arrived, I realised I had dropped the ball, and did not ask if the Soy Sauce was gluten free. The manager went to the back to check, while I took the side cup of Soy Sauce off my plate for the time being. When the manager arrived back at my table, Gluten-Free Soy Sauce container in hand, he made an odd comment about how it "must be pretty serious" in a sarcastic tone, as if he thought that I was already consuming the soy sauce without confirmation. All in all, the food was good, and the drinks were delicious - but the manager's weird comments were unnecessary, and did not make me feel at-ease about eating the food out of their kitchen. Unless it is for quick drinks before a movie, I will not be headed back to this location in the foreseeable future. As a side note - I have heard that the Sherwood Park location takes Gluten allergies/auto-immune diseases seriously, and even have a designated deep fryer which they do not contaminate with glutenous foods! First time to this location but not a first time to a Browns Social House. First impression didnt start off too good for the hostess, who seated us. Was seated by the front door and when we requested a high chair or booster seat, she realized that a high chair would block the walkway and suggested we moved to a table, 4feet away. The hostess then walked away, leaving us standing next to the table, awkwardly looking around, waiting g for her return. She then decided to help another customer and we were STILL standing there, like "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot"?! Our server, Cienna turned the tables back in her favor, by bringing us a booster seat for the child with is, AND placed us back in our original seats. Went there tonight for my birthday dinner, Service was slow and poor. Not once was I asked if I wanted another drink or anyone else at the table. We started with nachos but when they came the cheese wasn't even melted..... our mains came out in 3 different times. My dads was cold and the sauce had spilled over his sandwich, my moms burger wasn't even cooked all the way. So disappointing. The server didn't apologize once. The manager came over and took my parents meals off, which duh they didn't even eat them and it was so late at this point we didn't want to wait any longer for food. This is going to be fairly short but just wanted to give a little praise. My date and I went out for a little bite to eat last night (Saturday, October 6th) and had the greatest experience! The restaurant was warm and inviting with many booths. The hostess was sweet and chatted with us. Our server Jill was fantastic!! Chatted with us, made us laugh and was perfectly attentive. It's rare to get an amazing server nowadays. Although, I have to say I think I've always had good service at the Browns off the Henday.I will ask for Jill's section next time I'm there. And that will be sooner than later :) As well, the evening manager came by often to see how we were enjoying everything. He was a great conversationalist and very entertaining! His name escapes me but I know he will be enjoying all you can eat Korean BBQ and sushi soon To wrap up, (ended up not being short) the food was fantastic, the service was phenomenal and the management cared about patrons experience. I went to Brown's for date night. We get in and the place is packed. We go and talk to the hostess and she advises we join the waitlist on Yelp, which was fine, except the wait was over an hour at 4 pm. But because we've never eaten here before, we decided to sit in our vehicle and wait. When we finally got seated, the two of us were at a huge booth while bigger groups were at smaller tables. We ordered an appetizer and 2 mains. The food came out promptly except the mains came out before the appetizer. When I stopped the waitress to inquire about this, she admitted she never even put the order for our appetizers in. I get it, it was busy but that's obviously not good for the restaurants bottom line. Anyways, we opted to skip the appetizer and just have our main course which was a burger. It was really good but nothing spectacular. If Brown's wasn't busy and I was in the area I would go back; however, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there again after the mediocre experience. read more

My only beef is the steak (pun intended) 1st time I had it my word it was amazing. but the last 2 times man alive MEDIUM RARE is not medium. for a very expensive meal that is unacceptable and the garlic butter is frozen which is not ok it does melt but makes your steak cold. Overall, not very impressed with this location. My mother was really excited to have me try this place, but never been to the St. Albert location. Staff were great, polite and quick. Kitchen took a lot time though. And we were only one of maybe 5 tables. The coffee had at the Manning location was delicious but at this location not so much... The Ramen bowl my mother ordered had bean sprouts missing. I had the dragon bowl, which was delicious. My niece had the child fettuccine and it was bland and tasteless, she refused to eat it. Possibly the worst service I've ever had at a Browns. It took nearly 10 minutes for me to have my drink order taken. And other 10 to have it brought out. This happened every time we went to order a drink. Then when my Caesar came I could see that it had horseradish in it. My friend had ordered her virgin Caesar before I got there and there was no horseradish in her drink. So I told the waitress I didn't like horseradish. She said, "We'll are you allergic or do you just not like it? Why don't you try it and see if you like it?" Instead of just offering me a Caesar without horseradish like my friend got. She was so rude and said I should have read the drink menu. The rest of the meal she was rude and awkward with us. Totally unenjoyable meal for my friends and I. We won't be back. read more

This is our favourite place right now to go after a movie or for a quick drink and a bite. Staff has been attentive and personable. The other night there weren't any booths available and they were quick to add us to the wait list app and we sat at the bar. Been to many Browns social house locations, and while on the pricey side, I have always enjoyed what I ordered . This St. Albert location was horrible. The portions were pathetic, the food had no flavour, and was not cooked very well. My friend wouldn't even eat it, and she was super disappointed that I chose Browns for our outing. I was hungry though, and even though it wasn't good, I ate the tiny portion of poorly made food that was on our plates before the server ever made it around to ask how it was. I had even cleared the plates from our table and placed them on the one beside us so we wouldn't have to look at it anymore. When the server did finally come around and ask how it was, we told her the truth. She mentioned it to her manager, who came over and was extremely rude, and didnt seem to care that our food was bad, saying that everything is made according to their specs. Well if that's the quality of food you want to serve and you dont want feedback on how bad it was, I guess we'll just have to never return to your establishment. We really should have just brought the food back to the bar or kitchen straight away and maybe the results would have been different. But I still think it would have been a courtesy to remove perhaps one of the dishes from our bill, or offer another way to fix the uncomfortable dissappointed we experienced at this restaurant today. I wouldn't bother eating here, save your money for something better tasting and better quality. The server herself was a nice young lady, and the beer was good and thats about it. read more

I was going there every week with my wife , and I like the bartenders , polite and professional hands down . Now last Saturday I spend the evening there as I always , we are a group of three and we decided to leave and visit across the street at brew house , it's really not my scene and the service is mediocre. So I told the waitress that we are ,ma and my wife going to browns where we belong and get good service. From there everything is ok , we are hungry and we wanna go say hi to Baxter the barman . At the door the manager run to us and ask us if we are coming from next door , so right away we are saying no cause we were wondering what is going on . Sure enough , the management from brew house called Browns and I don't know what kind of lies they say but somehow without even asking anything to us ,and in a really careless matter , ask us to leave ?!?!? Wtf is this ??? I am there every week since opening and I'm always polite and respectful and that's how this shorty blonde hair male manager will treat us ??
