I was meeting seven of my good friends to go to the Winspear for a concert tonight. I've never been to craft beer market the menu looked pretty good. At first the service was great I'll order the Prosecco that was the drink of the night for Tuesday. From now on it went downhill. We ordered our meals and people ordered drinks and more Prosecco. At one point we were just looking for someone it was actually working. Three servers were chatting while there was no service going on. A couple that was seated next to us actually left because the service was so bad. We were there early at 5:15 order of drinks and meals. We did not get out of there until 7 PM and then the nerve to charge us 20% gratuity when we had to ask for service continually. Would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Came here for a Sunday brunch as I have a downtown dining pass through Explore Edmonton which had a 2 4 1 brunch coupon. They got plenty of beer selections that's for sure and the decor is super comfy. Service is excellent! We got the Benny Bowl. It was not bad. Could have used more hollandaise though. They bill themselves as "Canada's Largest Selection of Draft Beer" and who can argue with that? Their beer list is meticulously divided into genres of beer - Ales, Pub Cream Ales, Scottish Ales, Saisons, Blonde & Kölsch Ales, Amber & Red Ales, Black & Brown Ales, Pale Ales, India Ales, Strong Ales / Trappist, Stouts & Porters, Light Lagers, Pale Lagers, Pilsners, Session Ales, Gluten-Free, Fruit & Specialties, Sour Ales & Lambics, Ciders, and over a dozen rotating locals. They have super sweet Hoppy Hours (Monday to Friday from 3-6pm, Sunday to Thursday 9pm - close, and all say Sunday) with bargains like $4 Local Drafts, $4 House Wines, $4 Highballs, $3 Beer Fries, $3 Fish Tacos and $3 Brisket Sliders. I had one of those Hoppy Hour Specials and for $4 it was a helluva buy - a Wood Buffalo Babe Blueberry Vanilla Ale described as a "landmark beer for the new country frontier. This is a drinkable golden ale with local blueberries and hints of vanilla, the perfect beer for a new generation of drinkers". At 4.5% ABV, it was pretty sneaky, but two of them did the trick. For dinner, we both chose from the bowl portion of the menu - a $16.50 House Made Bolognese "Naturally raised beef and pork simmered with tomatoes and herbs served on a bed of garganelli pasta finished with Grana Padano" and a $19.00 Ahi Poke Bowl - "sashimi grade ahi tuna with cucumber, pickled carrots, avocado chunks, seaweed, fresh ginger and togarashi aioli all stacked on top of steamed rice and sesame seeds". My Ahi was delicious- a generous portion of sashimi with fresh vegetables and rice. One of the reasons we enjoyed our meal so much was our delightful server Lindsay, who was an informative wealth of knowledge about the beer list, the Happy Hour details, and the dessert options. She was downright evangelical in her praises for the Butterscotch Budino (Rich creamy Italian style pudding topped with crispy rice wafers and shaved chocolate for $9} that we had to try it. Lindsay was right on the money, the dish was so delicious and the rice wafers dipped in the pudding could have been a controlled substance. My brother and I decided to check this place out because we were looking for a roof top patio to enjoy a few drinks and lunch at. We initially were put on the wait list for the patio but it didn't take long for our table to become available. While we were waiting in our temporary spot, we ordered from their rotating tap beer menu and it took around 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive. We got notified that our table on the patio was ready 5 minutes after ordering our drinks, but we waited for another 10 minutes for our server to come back with our tap beers so we could pay for / take them up to the patio. Our server was polite and they were honest about what they have or haven't tried but did offer recommendations! After that, the experience was seamless. Our patio server was laidback even though they were busy, They were always on it! The patio bar set up was so cute. We ordered the Hawaiian Ahi Poke Bowl and shared an order of Beer Salt & Pepper Wings. The ahi tuna was fresh and light, but could have done with a bit more garnishing of sauces. The wings were served hot and so juicy. Will definitely be coming back here. I hear the brunch menu is great too! read more

A great place to watch a game or to have a meal. We dropped by Sunday afternoon for a bite and was seated at a table near the bar for lunch. The service was prompt and our waitress was very nice, checking in periodically to make sure we had everything. I shared a Mediterranean salad and the Baja tacos (FYI the baja taco appetizer and main is the same except that the main comes with a side) with a local flight of beer to wash it all down.They were nice enough to split the salad onto two plates for us, even without us asking! The salad was filling and hearty, but I noticed that there was only one piece of roasted cauliflower on each plate.... which was sad because I was looking forward to it. I liked the spice blend on the fish for the tacos, which made the otherwise simple taco more interesting. If you are visiting, I would recommend the local beer flight! Came to CRAFT Beer Market last night for the first time for their soft opening. The staff were friendly and while numerous mistakes made, it's expected and the place was jam packed to capacity. What I liked: Several levels including a patio roof top if you feel like going up a dozen flights of stairs ;-) The second level bar/lounge area had lots of comfortable seating and even booths that overlook the main floor. Came here for a special event at the end of February - the vegan dinner & beer pairing, which they've hosted for a couple of years in a row now. It's a 4-course meal with a beer pairing for each course, tickets sold out pretty quickly so keep your eyes open for next year! There was a roast onion wedge with vegan pesto to nibble on before the meal, then onion soup with vegan bacon; braised mushroom on a lentil and farro fritter; curried squash and legumes; and a chocolate peanut butter pie to finish. Hadn't been here before and it's a nice place, very big and clean and modern, with lots of space. I imagine it must get pretty loud on busy evenings, but we had the whole upstairs room for the event and on a Tuesday it was a reasonable volume. I can't judge their normal food quality since this was a special event, and I'm not actually a vegan so I also can't judge well by vegan standards, but the food was pretty tasty. The soup was a bit over-salted and the stew was a bit bland, but the mushroom and fritter was delicious and the balance of different vegetables in all the dishes was well chosen. The "chocolate peanut butter pie" was a bit of a mystery, since it was not a pie at all, but more like a small bowl with chocolate cookie crumbles in the bottom and a peanut butter sauce on top... in fact, there was nothing pie-like about it. It was still pretty tasty, but maybe call it a crumble or something like that? Anyway, I wasn't totally blown away but I also know vegan cooking's quite challenging and I'd still come back sometime to try their regular menu, which I imagine would be even better. read more

We came here for beers and supper and because they have a roof top patio. For apitizers we has fried pickles, hot cauliflower bites and Molly had the 3 little tacos. The cauliflower was one of the most elaborate versions of the dish with a coating and a spicy sauce. Pickles and tacos were also good. For supper, I had 3 street tacos, beef type. Ken had a burger and Molly had a big bowl of something. They reported their stuff was good. My tacos were great. I ordered a kale ceaser to go with it. It tasted OK, but apparently I don't like the texture of kale. To drink, we had some pints of the light lager made for the bar (forget what they called it). Glad we made reservations on a weekday for lunch as we arrived at 11:45 and there was a long stream of people behind us. They even called the day before to confirm our reservation. They were going to seat us in the restaurant but we wanted to enjoy the sunshine on the roof top patio so it was good there was still room. here's a few flights of stairs but it was worth it to be outside. We choose a table that wasn't directly in the sun. There were 3 of us and our colleague was running late and we waited about half an hour for him. The server was great to get us our drinks and let us take our time until our colleague joined us. I'm not a beer drinker but the others were and they both enjoyed the beers from what seemed like a large selection. Once our colleague arrived, we placed our order. Being a fan of seafood, I decided to try the crab cake sliders for $12 while the others had burgers and a kale salad. The food didn't take too long to arrive which was great as we didn't have much time to eat. The 3 sliders were small and didn't come with a side but still were satisfying at it wasn't deep fried and terribly greasy. My colleagues enjoyed their meals. The burgers looked very big and came with lots of fries. Wished we cold spend the whole afternoon on the roof top patio and enjoy the weather but we all had to head back to the office. That's okay, we just took a spot at the bar instead. Oh where to start, there are so many options on tap! I believe there are about 100 or so to choose from (my go to is always the Peach Cider). It took a little while for the bartender to come back around and take our food order, but after we did order we had our meal in under 5 minutes - we just couldn't believe it! An unexpected change of plans ended up being awesome. Yay for businesses who are open on a holiday Monday! Boo for downtown construction making it really tough to get around. Like I said, we had plans to try a different restaurant (who's social media account & website stated they were open) only to find out they were closed. Their loss, because the Craft Beer Market is going to be a new favourite for us! From the moment you walk in you get that warm and welcoming vibe. The layout is very open, but there's some huge, cozy booths available that give a bit more privacy. We were seated immediately and began the arduous task of choosing a delicious beverage. Since I like to drink and hubby needs to drive we shared a 6 pack sampler (local I believe). There wasn't a beer on that paddle that I didn't like. Mmmm, I love the smell of hops in the morning...err afternoon. Hubby ordered deep fried pickles and cheddar jalapeño soup. Both items were hot, fresh & tasty. No complaints from him. I had the Yucatan Chicken salad with prawns instead of chicken. It was delicious, and not over-dressed with lots of tasty ingredients. The black beans in the salad were slightly tough/dry, but I ate them anyway. Our waitress was great, attentive but not imposing. Craft beer brew belly. I think it's a thing. I'm pretty sure I have one. What better place to nourish my beer baby than at CRAFT? After a double date dinner, at my request, my Canadian party took me out to CRAFT so that I could try some local brews. To maximize my tasting options, I ordered the Canadian flight. I was really surprised by some selections (namely a tea beer whose name I cannot recall), but loved them all. I also got to try Innis & Gunn, a favorite of my friend's that we cannot find locally in California, and it was delicious as well. CRAFT is not shy about displaying their kegs and variety, and it is amazing. The space is lofty and open, however it does get a bit noisy and difficult to hold conversation. Let's start with service: bored waitress, tripped over my chair spilling my drink on a table. Instead of cleaning the mess she just walked off. The guy next to me offered his napkin since no one cared that I sat with my glass in the air at wet table. At some point one of the waitress brought napkins and just left them for me to clean up! My partner and I came here after the X warrior run which fortunately was on my birthday! Free beer tickets so hells ya! I have never wanted to venture out in downtown for drinks because of parking but we were able to find parking in the parkade easily on a Saturday around noon time. We walked in and I love how big and spacious the place was. We got seated immediately and it was a nice roomy table for the 2 of us. The beer menu... Omg... What an extensive list of different beer on tap! I was so happy to find my favorite beer on tap, hoegaarden with the giant glass. My partner I think he ordered Keith, unfortunately he's not adventurous with beer unlike myself. I honestly wanted to try the different types but after a race I can't drink too much alcohol. Brunch was delicious of course. I highly recommend brunch. After this day I found my favorite pub and I've brought all my family and friends here and they absolutely love it too. I went to meet a few girlfriends here at the weekend, for a few beers before an event at Churchill Square (just a few minutes walk away). I took the LRT downtown as there is never anywhere to park especially around this area. I had my daughter with me but I heard CRAFT were child friendly. Despite there being no highchairs, they are accommodating to children before 9pm. We were sat at a long booth with plenty of room for the five of us. I tried the Grizzly Paw ale which was light and very refreshing. I ordered the butternut squash ravioli and the food came fast! Without much wait the pasta arrived and it looked as good as it tasted.
