No wait time at all. Brown's was just up the way and took my call prior to his other since he was right around the corner from where I was needing assistance. I was not in a safe location , especially for being a girl. The towed the Mustang beautifully and loaded it with extreme care considering I live in the Cove and the roads are really switch back roads. The gentleman driver was courteous , and conversation was light and pleasant. I would recommend this business to use. I was pleasantly surprised. As far as service goes, excellent. Good natured man, timely with the tow and good equipment. But watch out for the price to change. I was quoted 4-5 hours for the tow at $500 which I agreed to. Turned out to be 3 hours which was fantastic but $600?! And this was a straight forward no issues tow. If you use Browns, be clear on the price or you may be in for a surprise. read more

I want to thank Mark for his incredible work, professionalism and very kind heart!!! My husband and I had a dangerous car accident few months ago on a sharp turn on Highway 1 near Laggett, CA, we fell about 80 feet (20 meters) off the cliff.  It was terrible.   By evening the car was pulled out by Mark, it was hard work. He was so careful and very nice. Also, he took us to the hotel, grocery store and waited while we took everything from the car. The car was total loss due to structural damage and we got a full refund.  Mark, thank you for taking care of us and our car, we are so grateful for your service! NEVER USE THIS COMPANY! 1 star is 1 to many for this company of tweakers. Obviously a meth-head driver that came to tow my camper. He came in an a beat up mid 80s truck (not a towtruck) with a bald tire and hitch that was too low and locked on. Said he just got the truck and had no key for the locked hitch. So when he went over a by bump it smashed both my front jacks to where they almost broke off and are totally ruined. I called the owner of this joke of a company and he started yelling at me. Saved the day and our vacation We experienced first hand that Mark Brown has years of practical experience and he has a genuine desire to solve problems and get people back on the road. Our van had a strange problem. It would not start even though it had been running fine and the battery was charged. This happened once before, but was difficult to diagnose because it was not repeatable. Mark came and tried to jumpstart the van, but it would not start. Instead of immediately giving up on the problem he checked the battery cables and found that positive cable was not secure in the crimped-on connector and that it was badly corroded. He cleaned up the corrosion and reattached the cable. The van started right up. He only asked for his standard jumpstart call fee, $50. We tipped more, because believe me the extra bit of initiative and know-how he showed in identifying the cable connector problem saved us a ton of money. We had been on the phone all morning with various towing companies and garages and we were facing hundreds of dollars in charges and several days of delay to have the van towed from Garberville area to reputable garage in Eureka. Had the opportunity to meet Mark & Leonard at Browns towing in May 22 2017. What a great couple of guys. I towed my boat over to Shelter Cove with my 34' Motor home. That proved to be a bad choice and I decided to have someone (Browns Towing) tow it back to Hwy 101 for me to give my Motor home a break as the road is very steep in both directions and hard on the transmission and the brakes. Mark came out to Shelter Cove at the agreed time and picked up the boat. We followed him back to Redway feeling much safer. Met up with Leonard when we got back. Both of them are great people, very nice, friendly and quoted a reasonable fair price for the work done. After the tow we asked for a recommendation for a place for lunch and that turned out to be a great find also. My bottom line, your never happy when you need a tow, but Mark and Leonard at Browns towing will do their best to take care of you and fix your problem. Saw some other reviews that were negative. Got to believe that those people were upset with there situation, and that colored their review of the tow company. I think these guys are the best and they can help me out any day. I have used Browns towing on multiple occasions. I have gone there to buy lein sales, they helped me when my tires blew out,etc The are usually willing to help... I think some people who called for help may have gotten the driver after 7-10 day run or split shifts etc. Because of the bad reviews. read more

Excellent service. Amazing people treated us like family! The owner Mark picked me, my mother and my three children up, late on a Saturday out in the middle of nowheresville 2 hrs from anything. He found us a mechanic who was able to assess our vehicle and length of time it would take to fix it. We were on vacay and staying an additional 2 hrs up the coast. With out a blink of an eye Mark willingly drove us back to our rental with my oversized vehicle. He was even able to Jimmy our excursion off the tow truck into our designated parking spot at the rental. Had a flat tire, and a flat spare in Garberville. AAA was going to take 2 hours to send someone up from Willits for a 5 minute tow, but when I called up Brown, they got there in 15 minutes and were super nice. Last week i drove my rented jeep down onto the gravel along the eel river. I had driven my jeep down there a bunch of times, many folks park there and enjoy the river. I got stuck in the gravel, I failed to realize that my rented Jeep Grand Cherokee was a two wheel drove only vehicle. I had three dogs and my 90+ year old mom with me. I called multiple tow services, I just needed someone with a tow rope to pull me about two feet. I called CASS (AAA) I am a Premier member. It took them a few hours to get there and they said I was not covered because I had intentionally driven off the road (what if you got stuck in your driveway, is that not covered) Anyway I called Browns Tow service. I explained my circumstances and that I had been stuck for 6 hours (my home is 6 hours away) It was late and I needed a hand. The owner and his brother heard my plight and said they would be right down. They showed up in ten minutes, put their pick up in 4 wheel drive, hooked a rope to the jeep and we were out. They did not ask for any money but I did pay them, I think they were just kinda trying to be good neighbors and they were a bit worried about my mom. One star is too many for this guy. The owner of the company totaled my jeep when towing it. His insurance company just bought my jeep from me after it was deemed a total loss. He left the front two tires of a four wheel drive jeep on the ground when towing it over 10 miles. Is this guy serious ? I see that I'm not the only one he's messed with. My motorcycle died south of Leggett, CA. Brown's Towing came to my rescue even though it was 0230 in the morning. They then hauled my bike and me two hours north to the nearest dealership in Eureka. The driver even arrived with the right "soft-ties" necessary to tie down my bike without damage. I'm a big fan. read more

This company is JUST terrible. The people are SO rude, and not of the highest intelligence bracket. I was stranded out in the middle of nowhere, and was relying on them to bring me gas. I called them after waiting about 30 minutes after their ETA, only to be told that I had been left out there, and to "Go fuck myself." The owner also told me to "starve out their for all I care." NOBODY EVER deserves to be treated the way I was by this guy. It was absolutely disgusting. He refused to send us another truck because his other driver had been supposedly driving around for 40 minutes looking for us (but never called us???) so we actually had to call the police and have an officer come out to help us. He luckily had some friends that worked with Redwood Towing, so he called us in a favor. They arrived about 45 minutes later with a gallon of gas, and we were on our way after being stranded out there for 7 1/2 hours. Thanks to Brown's towing, all that had to happen. I had the absolute worst experience of my life; and cannot BELIEVE I was left out there by the very towing company I had hired to help me. read more
