Food was absolutely amazing and cooked beyond perfection. I ordered the Smoke Burger rare with jalapeños and a side of garlic fries -- easily one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. We also got a side of regular fries for the kids, and honestly they were some of the best fries we've ever had. Highly recommend stopping in for lunch or dinner. The last two times I've come in have been around sundown and the service has been perfect and completely on point. Great selection of wine and beer, and the food options and specials are fantastic. Ordered food online told me a 20 to 40 minute wait. After 54 minutes. I went in and asked about my order. He said it was done. Tells me that I wrote no sauce and no tomato no lettuce on one of them so he just didn't put any veggies at all like what I literally wanted pickles and onions, but he just chose not to put them on there. OK fine I get it. I got to the car. I paid three dollars extra for bacon. There's no bacon so I go back inside. Tell him if there's no bacon he acted very rude. Didn't even wanna look at me wrapped it up in some saran wrap, cold bacon at that and handed it to me and was like oh sorry. I get home. I opened up the burgers thoroughly and the buns are completely burnt. The amount of fries that came in that box was ridiculous. The "appetizer" of sweet potato fries was $10 and there was maybe 10 or 12 fries in there absolutely rude, overpriced for what you get, and he never hit the button on the online ordering to say that my order is ready until literally an hour and 20 minutes after I picked up my food. We had a bass tournament of 8 boats. A majority of us were staying overnight on Friday, October 11, 2024 at the Brownsville Motel. Naturally, we settled for dinner at the Brownsville Station Cafe. There we met the owner, Jason, and his loyal GSD, Roamie. I'm giving Jason the highest rating because he has a clever computer ordering setup for the restaurant. On that night, he had no staff, so we placed our 7 dine-in orders on the computer. Not only was Jason working alone without help, but he managed to get all our tasty dinners to us in a timely manner. I had the Station Platter with the grilled shrimp. It came with garlic mashed potatoes and petite peas. There was a side of chili with cornbread. My angler friends wanted to see if I could polish it all off. Alas, I shared the chilli and cornbread with the president of our club. I'd like to mention that not only was he waiting on our group, but a party of three other people showed up for dinner. That doesn't even count for the take out orders or customers stopping in for dessert. The only drawback to running a business like this is Jason closes at 7 p.m. We have to remember that the next time we fish Bullards Bar. read more

Prime rib was juicy and well seasoned, the mask potatoes were real potatoes and not sure what the secret ingredients were but tast was amazing. Green beans were crisp and fresh. Amazing restaurant, a humble jewel in Brownsville, CA, located in the Sierra Foothills. Went there again today, had great food, a Reuben sandwich, perfectly made for my born-in-New-York husband. Jacob, aka "Mr. B", is owner of this fine establishment and makes one of the best green chili pork burritos I've ever come across. We got the meal "to go" on Sunday. The pork is slow cooked with mild green chiles and vegetables in a thick sauce. He wraps them in warm flour tortillas with cilantro, onions and cheddar cheese, then smothers them on top with the green chili sauce again. Served with beans on the side, I got two burritos for $15 dollars. That was enough for dinner and lunch the next day. Thank you Jacob. We hope to be back soon. read more

We went online to place an order. We called to see if they were open. No answer, so we drove all the way up there to find out it was closed. No message on the web site or the voice mail. They had a sign in the window that they were free Americans stating that they do not comply with medical or political mandates. They handle thier business like a 15 year old. They want freedom, but grownups understand that with freedom comes responsibility. These 2 issues indicate that the proprietors are irresponsible, and they don't care about the community. read more

I love hamburgers and fries. We've eaten them everywhere we go, but we had the best burgers ever today at this small but impressive restaurant. The Smoked Burger was so delicious, I had to share two bites with my s/o. Just two bites. Anyone that knows him, understands that two bites COULD be half the burger. His eyes rolled back in his head, he nodded yes and I swear there were years in his eyes! Ok, it's Sunday, but this was a religious experience. We were here last year a I had a bowl of beans with smoked pork and a side of jalapeno corn bread. I thought that was the best food ever, but these burgers topped that! I came to the cafe to grab takeout lunch for my boys while they were working on a property clearing job and while the food was great the owner or cook or whatever he is had a very bad attitude. I tried making small talk and he seemed to have not cared less. After I paid $60 plus tip and left with my food, me and my boys came back from the job and parked in their parking lot with our trailer to eat our food and he came out and very rudely told us we had to move due to blocking the entrance. We were not blocking anything since he drove right behind us back to the cafe before coming to tell us to move. Good food. Sucky staff. read more

This was a new place we decided to try out. The outside scenery is really nice. The inside was clean though I think they could of done a better job decorating, but they a have also just started so it will take some time. I believe they have been in business for 5 months now. Honestly, I am not a fan of there menu. Everything was over $10, which seem pricey to me. But I guess that is what everyday restaurants cost these days. There was not much of a variety on the menu as far as dinner goes. The sides are the same for every dinner plate. The food end up being really good though. What I prefer they change is the timing of the food. The waitress brought out the salad the same time she brought out the dinner. so you basically eat the salad and the dinner at the same time. They could of brought out the salad a little bit earlier then the dinner plate. But the salad was amazing. I would not mind just going there again to eat the salad. Over all, this is a good place sitting in a small town though it is very pricey. read more

Brownsville is very lucky to have this new restaurant. The menu is very innovative and the interior is updated. We have been three times for dinner and tried a different item each time. We liked it all. The very friendly waiter was eager to please but missed a few points: we were not offered wine choices or asked if we would like dessert. Time will improve all that. read more

We went Saturday night to this restaurant, and we were amazed on the food and the flavor. All of the food we ordered came out amazing, and you could tell all of the food was freshly made. The 3 cheese and artichoke dip was that we started with was absolutely delicious, and their basil vinaigrette that was served on their dinner salads made me wish that I had ordered just a large salad (before dinner was served). In our party of four, three of us had the chicken fried steak and one had the fried catfish. The chicken fried steak was single handily one of the best testing and softest ones I have ever had- I did not need a knife to cut it. The fresh mashed potatoes were also incredible. The server was also impressive, as he had taken our orders without writing them down, and each order came out exactly as the person had ordered it. My only compliant is that I live three hours away and will not be able to go back on a regular basis for that delicious food. read more
