Although they had some great specials including spicy tacos I chose the burger with bleu cheese and bacon. I chose the side to be posole soup. The burger was huge and omg...so juicy( and messy..lol). The soup was a surprising hit..flavorful yet mild. They were very busy ( alot of takeout as well). Fast service. Friendly people. I had alot of leftovers! We stopped at Rail House in Gridley during a road trip and it ended up being one of those unexpectedly great finds. The food was incredibly fresh and thoughtfully prepared. My wife had the salmon, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, and I had a salad that was crisp, vibrant, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Everything tasted clean, fresh, and really well balanced--exactly what you hope for when you're traveling and looking for a good meal. Grey Lodge Wildlife Reserve was flooded. We didn't know this until we had driven about an hour and a half to get there. Pro Tip -- Cal F&W has a website that will tell you stuff like this. Another Pro Tip -- go here! I checked Yelp, and it's well-reviewed, so we stopped. Local place. comfortable seating. We sat at the bar/counter because that's where the action is. The service is great. For a small place, it has a good beer selection. We ordered the Broken Arrow IPA -- came in frosty glasses. My husband gave it a 5 on Untappd -- first 5 in ages. The food looks and smells great. But for the fact that we had just finished our car picnic, we would have been ordered. Next time. Railhouse Pub & Grill continues to impress. We started with the stuffed bell pepper soup, and it tasted exactly like a homemade stuffed pepper, rich, flavorful, and absolutely perfect. The pasta special (risotto-stuffed portobello mushroom with Italian sausage risotto) was outstanding and cooked perfectly. We paired dinner with excellent craft cocktails and a very nice bottle of Pinot Noir. A special shout-out to Jessica, who is a talented craft cocktail bartender. Stopped by on the way home from Yuba City. Tried something different: Mac n' Cheese panini with Pepperoni. Total stoner food! It was really delicious! Added garlic fries and a cold beer. The panini had smoked Gouda, which is my favorite, and adding pepperoni for $1.00 more was a no brainer. It was crispy, creamy, smokey and salty - perfect! The fries were good, not great, only because they were slightly overdone. Had they been removed from the fryer a minute earlier they would have been better. Waitress was super friendly and efficient. Delicious, fun food for all. Easy to find and nice inside. Been meaning to try here and so glad we did. We had the special which was a burger this bacon, mushrooms and smoked Gouda cheese. Service was superb! Our server was Sky. She was friendly, helpful and our drinks were refilled before we asked- she's on point! Had the American Railer burger and onions rings- very tasty! Rail House was randomly chosen by a friend as Gridley was a central location for three friends to have lunch as we are all about an hour away in different directions. The food, service, vibe of the place was 5 star. I had the Locomotive (Jalapeño) burger and it was awesome. Well....we walked in, sat down...and sat...and sat...and sat. Saw servers walking around, then walk back into the kitchen. Finally someone came and took a drink order. I'm gonna chalk it up to being..."busy" as there were several other tables occupied. The food: Chicken Bacon Ranch, Turkey club add avocado , both with fries. Food was good, fries were seasoned and crunchy on the outside and soft inside. The chicken bacon ranch is two chicken strips...so it's a little messy. The club was a classic club on sour dough. Food was good, but not great. My burger was more bun than meat, but was really tasty. Garlic fries were well seasoned with plenty of garlic and perfectly crisp. Another person in my party ordered the "notch 8" salad , which was all lettuce and blue cheese (which is not a bad thing at all ), but the grilled chicken was hard to find. My experience might not be like most folks, as I ate here for a funeral reception. Even though it's a fairly small place, I thought the staff did a great job serving a large number of people. They were polite, fast and effective. The place felt like an old fashioned cafe, but with a wine list. The food was pretty good, with ample portions, even in these days of shrinkflation. read more

Great food and fantastic service! Came in for lunch today. I have a gluten allergy and ordered the hot pastrami sandwich and a salad. My husband ordered the breakfast burger and tots. I asked the waitress if the fryers were separate for the chicken strip and tots to decide about my order. The cook even came out to make sure I was ordering safely which I really appreciate. The fryers are not separate but the sandwich and salad were both fantastic. We even ordered a stagecoach burger and tots to take home to our teenager. I went there for the first time this evening and must have picked the worst item on the menu - fish and chips. It was the usual frozen food service company fish (probably tilapia with gray streaks in it - very fishy) and run-of-the-mill frozen thin fries. Definitely not good quality fish and definitely not "chips". From the reviews I guess they do good sandwiches, burgers and appetizers, but again, I picked the wrong thing and felt like I was overcharged for the poor quality. Not only that but I never got the garlic toast that was supposed to come with it. That said, the server was very nice. read more
