What a great spot to stop after we completed the Phantom Falls hike. Service was great. The ambiance was very relaxing. Great outdoor patio. The inside of the restaurant looked like a great spot to enjoy a meal. The drink I had was outstanding. Super fresh and just the right amount of alcohol. Visited August 20th..always see my receipt. I came here again after they were closed July 3rd due to the holiday. This place is still awesome! I haven't been here in years and I am glad I came in! I ordered the ahi tuna and it was colorful and fresh! They give you a ton of wonton chips which i don't really eat much of ( more tuna...less chips please!). The sevice was good ( thank you Sam). They have a huge outside patio with a bar and of course inside with bar and regular seating. I missed happy hour (starts at 3pm) but that's fine because I was craving the ahi tuna! BTW...THEY DO NOT HAVE THE BAVARIAN PRETZELS ANYMORE! ( Bartender said they haven't had it for over a year). I enjoyed a nice glass of white wine with my late lunch (with leftovers!) The Union is a place where you can count on a tasty meal. Recently went there with my son. Had the salmon and tacos. The salmon was really good except wasn't crazy about the sauce they put on it. The tacos and the beer were really good. I like the ambience of the place; sort of nice, casual. I saw the patio they had and looks great; want to experience some music there. Vegan option- I went to lunch with work-mates and I usually dread going out because vegan options are usually limited to a simple salad and a drink for me. Today I was pleasantly surprised to see Jackfruit Tacos on the menu. Super delicious and flavorful with a gorgeous presentation. Keep this on the menu please! Wasn't great. I ordered the Tuscan ribeye, mashed potatoes, veggies, shrimp blue cheese crumbles, bacon Brussels sprouts and an old fashion. The brussel sprouts were the highlight of the whole meal. Came with a house salad. Took that home. First, shrimp came on a skewer sticking out of the steak and did not look cooked....correction, they might as well been boiled or microwaved. They were cold and absolutely no sear on them. Then the veg.. DEFINITELY out of a frozen bag. Super moody and terribly seasoned. Mashed potatoes were like cement. Needed moisture like a mofo. The old fashion had plenty of booze in it. I was going to order a Moscow mule also but I didnt want to get pulled over on the way home. The streak was decent. I would have prefer more of a crisp on it but at least it wasnt over cooked. Server was great. Had a couple other servers step in a take care of me but that's fine. Sometimes its a team effort. All in all a $100 meal that really should have cost maybe 40. I wasnt mad at it but I won't be back. read more

As someone else noted, great food, terrible service. Service started out good as we got there early and were given our choice of tables. We sat near the front of the place and that was our mistake. A group that came in after us sat in at the window and was warned by the host that there were a lot of flies there and they'd be better off farther to the back of the restaurant. They moved. And the host was right--we battled flies our entire meal. Server started out well. Quickly came by for drink orders and discussed the evenings specials. My cocktail arrived fairly quickly as did my guest's beer. Food order went well and was delivered hot and tasted great, but that was the last we saw of our server. My empty cocktail was never noticed, so I stayed with one drink. When we were finished they were nowhere to be seen. We had to ask another server to handle our check after threw my hands up in the air and would have just put barely enough cash down to cover the tab. I never stiff a server and I didn't this time, but I ought to have considered it. I hope they can get the staff better focused, though this is only a sample size of one and maybe it was a bad day. And get the flies under control for crying out loud. The food is too good to have to be waving flies away all the meal. read more

I used to love this place and had many great experiences here. It's in a fantastic location and has a wonderful indoor/ outdoor bar that's perfect for relaxing or meeting friends. The service is consistently prompt, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the food has become noticeably plain and lacking in flavor over time. It's disappointing to see the quality decline, especially when everything else about the atmosphere and service remains so strong. I really hope they can revisit their menu and bring back the flavor and creativity that once made this spot a favorite. read more

The food had so much potential but they really missed the mark with my sandwich. I had the turkey BLT which had all the hallmarks of a great sandwich coupled with completely oil soaked bread. We came around 8pm and sat out in the patio. Portions were big and delicious. We tried the 12 oz prime rib medium rare with garlic beans and mash (so good), bruchetta (so fresh and tomatoes were sweet) & the artichoke dip (ok only) among other things. I like their drinks - I ordered a Frisky Whisky with jalapeño whiskey and pineapple with a tajin rim. It was so refreshing and dangerous lol. They also have a fernet and beer special which I haven't seen anywhere else. Service was a bit on the slower side and the band cancelled this night but other than that staff were nice. I like that you can scan a QR code to pay. Would be back again. Loved the space. read more

Great find! We went Saturday afternoon. Not too busy. Interesting menu for sure. Lots of choices with great variety. From standard pub burgers to a banh mi naan and multiple taco options. We were not feeling super adventurous so a friend ordered the bbq bacon burger, it was cooked right and the house made bbq sauce was on point! The onion straws needed salt. My partner had a patty melt, it was good. The 1000 island dressing is a good addition. Meat cooked right, onions lacked the carmalization the menu promised but a solid sandwich. Plus after the disastrous patty melt last week at Mimosa House on J st, Sacramento (seriously don't go) anything would be an improvement. I ordered the fish and chips. I hesitated because Mahi Mahi is not my favorite, but I'm glad I got it. This was the star of lunch. Perfectly battered, the batter itself was yummy, and fried to perfection. The fries were on point but the tartar sauce was next level! Also our server, Velma, was a delight and did a great job putting up with our fairly obnoxious friend. Definitely will be back! read more

The fish and chips! Honestly, such a cute little spot for lunch. We enjoyed a wonderful meal on the patio and had the most friendly service. Our server was so friendly and fantastic! Everything looked terrific, but we were told the fish and chips were a must and they really were. They came with three large pieces and fresh, crispy fries. The fish was so tender and delicious. The portion was huge and I could only get through 2 out of 3 pieces of fish. Others at the table enjoyed grilled fish tacos and a hearty looking burger. Yum! So I was absolutely in love with this place since they opened. Over the past year, maybe longer, it been getting subpar. Fried food is overly greasy when it used to be light and crispy. Salads are not cold and fresh. They seem to be pushing it on veggies or getting cheap suppliers. I always get ice tea and I use like 10 sugar packets. I am aware that's a ton but I ask for 10 when I order. For some reason the past few times I have to ask and ask and ask for more. Love the outdoor sitting area, even on hot days. I'm sad but we are kinda giving up on eating here. read more

We have been here at least five times this year and this was the first time we ate inside for dinner. We had the Cajun Alfredo and Wagu Meatloaf. The pasta had a great mix of flavors and honestly not too spicy. The meatloaf by far was the bomb, topped with a tomato jam and bacon. We started off with drinks and beer. The manhattan was made to perfection and the beer choices are good too. Service was a bit slow, but there was a few large parties celebrating the holidays. read more

Unfortunately, the dining experience was significantly impacted by a major fly problem. There were flies everywhere, which made it really difficult to enjoy the meal. It's a shame, because the food itself is great, but the lack of cleanliness in the dining area was a real turn-off. I'd love to come back for the food, but I'm hoping management can get the pest issue under control soon.

The portion size is no joke... I couldn't even finish the fries. Even with how busy it was, the staff was friendly and the whole spot had a family atmosphere that made it feel welcoming. If you're in Oroville and want a hearty burger that delivers, this is the move.

Visited November 30th..see my receipt as always…read more This place is located in Oroville. It is next to Bigfoot Eats in a very small shopping center. They open at 8am and I was the first one to order. I ordered the Country skillet breakfast ( 2 scrambled eggs with hash browns and bacon over biscuits and gravy). I had the gravy on the side. I was surprised that the bacon were just small little pieces with what looked like tater tots. You pick up the food at the counter and seat yourself. The eggs were cool to the touch. Biscuits were pretty good. The gravy made it better! Not what I was expecting but still ok. I only had a few bites and brought it back to my friends place. He enjoyed it ALOT more than I did! Manuel was friendly and helpful but the lady was was not very welcoming (Putting that nicely! ) It's retro inside and also serves beer and sodas along with coffee and other items. I think they are known for their burgers more so then their breakfast menu. I don't live in this area so this is not a place I will revisit.

The only thing I would say is that, they need to serve their beans hot and I would say it would be a 10 out of 10 if that were the case! We would highly recommend this spot and would definitely come back and eat again and again and again. It was my birthday week away from home and I felt right at home! I would give them a Yummy yummy yummy thumbs up!

We opted for 1 of these, and on our way to "the other" café, we spotted Jenn's which was on the list. After we arrived at the first place, it was new and in a little strip mall. It lookrd full of people. We doubted that we would get a Cafe breakfast. Off to Jenn's we go. It's a very tiny hole in the wall. We walked in and saw about 5 tables downstairs and 2 upstairs, and 3 or 4 counter seats. It is tiny! Luckily there were two open tables downstairs. A minute later the place filled up. We had a great waitress! She was quick to get our drinks and then took our order. The food arrived in a good time, not too long of a wait, maybe 15-20 minutes. The breakfast of choice was a 2-egg omelet with avocado and cheese, and 1 slice of French toast served with butter and cinnamon, and a cup of warm syrup. Yum, yum, yum The breakfast was very good! They included our coffee and iced tea in the breakfast . We will definitely go back!

The latest promotion was this Big Easy menu, sort of a take on Cajun Now Orleans themed food. My super fave dish, the Cajun sauced chicken with andouille sausage over penne pasta with a nice mix of green and red bell peppers and onion was my go to dish, priced at just $11.99. Now that I guess that promo had ended, the same dish is now $18.00! Gezees that's a big ass price hike. Not worth $18 in my book! Some of the other items on the former menu didn't go up, but were kinda pricey already, like the sizzling shrimp and chicken with mashed potatoes at around $18.50. It's still the same price. All I can say is the saving grace is the Really Big Meal Deal is still available, though, not listed on the table menu. You have to ask for it. I got that $9.99 deal with the big bacon cheeseburger and endless fries along with a refillable drink. That's a deal compared to the rest of the menu. My friend had a new dish called the Tex Mex bowl with shrimp and chicken. That was around $15.50 ... not super bargain, but I guess those are all gone these days. My friend actually like that dish a lot. My burger was fantastic as usual, lots of bacon and cheese and a decent sized patty. I even got some fries extra to go. Refilled my drink too. Applebee's is not quite the super bargain deal it once was, but at least they still have the 1/2 off happy hour appetizers from 3pm - 6pm everyday, not just weekdays!
