I was denied service prior to closing. I walked in at 7:50 and was greeted with "we're closed." Well, no actually, you're not. The advertised hours are 10 am to 8 pm, the sign said "open" l, and the door was unlocked. "I'm not taking anymore clients" would have been more appropriate and understandable...but don't lie. I've been a customer for over 10 years, PLEASE, don't lie. I suggest changing the hours to 10 am to 7:49 pm or have the business appropriately staffed. I came in on a Monday evening around 730pm. They close at 8pm. I had to sign in at the kiosk I waited for about 2 minutes and I was in the chair. She did the threading on my eye brows. They do threading, facials and waxing. The prices were reasonable. I got my eyebrows done for $12. They even had some eye brow powder they were selling for $15. They had brown, dark brown and they had brushes for sale as well. This place was nice and clean. This location does have plenty of parking. The lady who did my eyebrows was nice. I will be coming back. I love the fact they are open late and even on Sundays. read more

I have been coming here for years and never had a problem. This time I come and experienced a new eyebrow tech and she was extremely rough. I've had rough techs before where it still came out fine but this time my eyebrows started to feel numb and she said it was hard to do. When I left my eyebrows were extremely swollen and numb, I went to clean them with hydrogen peroxide and antibacterial ointment and they revealed the real problem. She cut me down to the white skin and left what looks like skid marks all over my eyebrows. I went back to ensure a new string was used so that I don't have to worry about blood borne diseases and HIV. The area manager originally said that they don't change out the string so when I asked if I need to get tested she said no and that the lady didn't cut anyone else before me. I said how would you know if I didn't even know until an hour later. Then the area manager double backed and corrected herself and said they use a new string on each customer. They granted my refund and weren't very sympathetic at all. I'm so upset and will never come back again. read more

Been coming here for years. The techs switch out often which is a bummer because as soon as I get used to someone and vice versa they switch out. But for the most part they are all usually really good. I get my eyebrows threaded and they are really thin so I always ask for powder which is never a problem. Kristen did my brows using the henna service. She was meticulous, washed her hands before, during, and after service- which means a lot to me having been in medical for decades. She didn't rush or try to take short cuts. I was very happy, and now willing to wait for appointments with her. She was a true gem. The only negative in my review is the lash extension tech tries to recruit me to follow her to her new place of employment that started the next week- I thought that was wrong, and glad they were parting ways. So I just finished getting my eyebrows, upper lip, and side burns threaded. But I did not have a good experience. The woman who worked on me was pretty bad. She was extremely distracted. She walked around and talked to co-workers mid-thread. She also rushed a lot and was not careful. I could actually feel her making mistakes. And at the end, I saw that she had missed a lot of spots. However, the other two woman working at this Idolize location seemed a lot more competent and sincere. So if you do come here, I highly recommend you ask to have a specific person thread you. I love Idolize, I have been coming here since I relocated to Charlotte. The place is so clean and sweet touches of pink, classic molding on the walls and tin ceiling and lighting had an upscale boutique New York spa vibe to it. The staff is so kind and will always tame your eyebrows to fit your face and will give you tips for growing them thicker and fuller. The first time, they threaded too much off my eyebrows when I asked not to. I came back a year later and had my upper lip threaded. I am very disappointed. Had her go over my lip 2 extra times. And there's still a lot of hair left. Now, I've been getting threaded for 10 years. I always go to concord mills, and will continue to do so. I came here bc it is more convenient and was hoping it would be my go to place from now on. But nope. It's also $2 more than the one at concord mills. It's $8 for an upper lip threading and she didn't even bother to give me a discount since I was unhappy and still seeing a lot of hair left. No, it's not peach fuzz as she was trying to suggest. It's black hair , that's not peach fuzz. Peach fuzz is not an issue with me. lol . The ladies at concord mills do MUCH MUCH better. She kept "threading" and I couldn't even feel her pull any hairs out. She threaded so lightly I could barely even feel the thread. Idk what the heck she was doing. Lol! The lady looks Asian. Don't go to her. She doesn't care. And got upset that I was unhappy. When in return, she should care more and try to have a customer leave satisfied. But she didn't. The salon is nice but the service is subpar. The check in machine wasn't working and Anshu was on her phone and gossiping with another co-worker and told me I did something wrong to the machine. Several other women came in and she told them they too messed up the machine. I'd been growing my eyebrows for three months and described what I wanted. Keep my eyebrows full. Anshu said "yes, yes I know" and proceeded to give me 90s paper thin eyebrows. Because Anshu is the manager, did not display leadership skills or threading skills, I would not come back here or recommend Anshu. read more

My patronage of Idolize would be another thing to add to the list of "...because of Yelp." I first heard of Idolize thanks to the Yelp Summer Soiree that took place last year. I thought it was awesome that there was free threading available in the midst of noshing and drinking (such a great idea!) and I was so pleased with how they were able to tame my somewhat wild brows. They have a handful of other locations throughout Charlotte but all were a little too inconvenient for me to make the drive. That is until now! I'm so glad that the powers that be at Idolize found it wise to open a University location because it makes this girl very happy. I made my first visit on a Thursday morning and it was empty so I was able to walk right in and be taken care of. Payal did my brows and brought them back to life. She took her time and was very considerate of maintaining the thickness and arch. I find threading to be a tad painful but SO worth it. Always minimal wait time. I've gotten my eyebrows threaded by multiple team members and they always come out looking great for the next 3-4 weeks!! I most often get Hani - she's awesome! She knows exactly what I mean when I say 'just a clean up' I used to be terrified of looking in the mirror and seeing too thin brows but, that fear has subsided!! One of my eyebrows doesn't grow hair in one spot but you could never tell - she makes them nice and even!
