I do have sensitive skin (eczema & rosacea) so I was worried about the chemicals, surprisingly my skin didn't turn red and I didn't have any allergic reactions. However, I did feel tingling and burning sensation during the lifting process but it went away after Sara flushed my eyes and the tingling went away after a day. She told me to get undressed, I told her I'm fast yet, she took what seemed to be 3-5 mins to come back in. The Brazilian went smoothly, I don't need extra care, and I don't make small talk. I went out to pay and no one was in the lobby waiting. The receptionist bumped my appt from 10:40 to 11:00. Nicole was done and I had paid at 11:03. I sat in my car and handled a few things to see if anyone came in the front doors. Not one client walked in. I left at 11:15. Nicole had PLENTY of time to do my brows. PLENTY. She was just being petty. To top it off, she had the nerve to get offended and drop an attitude on me when I didn't tip here. Was she actually surprised? Unbelievable. There are WAY too many choices for waxing here in San Diego for one of your employees to act like that. As a side note: the woman who answered my call at 10:36 when I was on the road to the store was very kind.

Despite my frustration, I was absolutely terrified to do microblading for the following reasons: 1) fear of "tattoo green" looking eyebrows 2) afraid it would affect my eyebrow hair growth 3) it was permanent forever 4) the artist would pick the wrong shape. I researched over 150 microblading artists, even in different states, because it was important to me to pick the right artist for my needs. Then I found Binx! Charlene is a p e r f e c t i o n i s t! She made sure my eyebrows look so natural! Just what I was hoping for. She educated me on everything. Microblading is semi-permanent and typically lasts about two years. Touch ups are recommended every few months as needed. It also does not affect hair growth. My new eyebrows only require minimal grooming. There was absolutely no pain, and the color was perfect! It was so subtle, even my closest friends didn't notice it was microblading! If you are on the fence, Charlene is your girl!

During my appointment, the lash tech mentioned that my natural lashes were thin and offered to sell me a lash serum. I have been getting lash extensions for the past 20 years and, in all that time, I have never been told by a lash technician that I would no longer be able to get extensions simply because my natural lashes were thin. I understand that lash health is important and that a technician may have concerns about the condition of someone's natural lashes, but the way this was presented left me feeling discouraged and confused. Perhaps there was a genuine concern about the health of my lashes, and if so, I would have appreciated a more thorough explanation and guidance about what specifically she was seeing and why she felt extensions might not be appropriate going forward. Instead, the comment felt a little surprising, especially after being offered a lash serum because of the thinness of my lashes. Overall, the salon was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and the lash tech was very courteous. I truly wanted this experience to be a great one, which is why I was disappointed that I left feeling uncertain about returning. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, because the salon has many positive qualities--I just think better communication and explanation regarding concerns about a client's natural lashes would make the experience much better.
