The secretary Patty is beyond belief rude , unprofessional and impolite. I called to get the result of my mother's test and patty told me it would be ready in a week and we will fax it to her doctors office. Good enough I made an appointment for three weeks later to make sure the result will be there. I took my mother to her doctor and the result was not there I called and left a message when the old woman (patty)called me she said we got busy and we finish it today and fax it to her doctor. When I told her this is so unprofessional she yelled at me and said what do you want me to do and hung up on me. Doctor Piner is a nice man. Bruce Piner is the best audiologist you could ever wish to know! He is incredibly kind, and he treats my 93-year-old mother warmly with an abundance of respect and patience. He is happy to answer any questions for us, and he genuinely cares for his patients. He has a great personality and sense of humor to boot. He is a natural trouble-shooter who gladly works together with my mom to educate her and help her overcome any challenges she encounters. Assisting Dr. Piner in the office is the bright and competent Patty. She is glad to talk to us and encourage my mom. It's not always easy adjusting to hearing aids but Patty listens to my mom express her concerns and offers suggestions to help her get over the hump. If it weren't for these two very human professionals, I wonder if my mom would want to bother with hearing aids at all! read more

A vey detailed history was obtained prior to the testing both for hearing deficit as well for balance abnormality. The exam that followed was very thorough and professional. The explanation of the findings were described to me in relative simple terms even thought I am a retired internist. I accepted his recomendations and i will follow through. Great doctor, he is amazing and has a super truthful aura and way of helping ... I am a fan... Questions for a while were answered by him thru his experience and tests he ran today with a headset and me in a room listening to sounds to analyze if I do have a hearing issue in one or both sides HE IS A VERY SMART AND INTUITIVE DOCTOR, He knew I was a girl from ny who simply likes everything loud, and knew asap the answers to my husband questions that for 3 years had him baffled, for example...why I hear whispers that most people cannot hear, but then other things he feels I either ignore or don't hear that are of higher tone. Found out my left side is def not hearing what the right side is but a accident which included my head resulted in a injury when I was 14.. explained some of it.. but mostly.. I come from a loud listening and talking way of life.. it feels ok now to like loud music- I have had the same hearing issue since I was 14- I am ok with it and today after my visit with bruce piner was exactly what I needed.. I don't often review doctors, but when I do it's because they're exceptional. My visit to Dr. Piner's office was one of the best doctor's visits I can remember. It started with very friendly staff and a comfortable waiting room full of interesting books. Dr. Piner himself is friendly and fun, but also extremely knowledgeable and competent. (And it doesn't hurt that he's clearly fond of his dogs.) Should I need a return visit to an audiologist, or anyone asks for a recommendation, Dr. Piner will be first on my list. read more

I was born with a severe hearing impairment. All my life I've struggled to live with the loss, always feeling somehow left out. I've been to several audiologists over the years, and had numerous hearing aids; some helped, some didn't. Now, at this late stage of my life, I am drastically losing what little is left of my hearing. I'd about given up hope, and then I had the good fortune to walk into the office of Dr. Bruce Piner. First, Dr. Piner told me about a device which would let me hear the television, and then introduced me to the Caption Call telephone. Suddenly, my small world began to expand. Then we discussed new hearing aids, though, given my increasing impairment, there was no guarantee that they would help. He suggested that we roll the dice and ordered new hearing aids. When they arrived and I put them on, a new world opened up for me! Now, for the first time in years, I can actually participate in conversations and even hear the teachers in my exercise classes. Yes, hearing aids are a miracle, but I''m sure it's because of the way Dr. Piner expertly programmed them to give me the utmost benefit that did the trick. Like most baby boomers, I am fighting the aging process tooth an nail! So naturally, when I found out I needed hearing aids I was not happy. But Dr. Bruce Piner made the whole process really quite enjoyable. He is kind, understanding, and super knowledgeable about all of the different brands of hearing aids and what was just right for me and my particular degree of hearing loss. Dr. Piner would get 10 stars if that was possible. I presented with vertigo and spinning, that was disabling. After extensive testing Dr. Piner diagnosed inner ear tube, crystals. After a positional procedure to move the crystals he advised that I should return to my ENT, because medicare would not cover the cost of additional treatment by him but would if performed by the ENT. A couple of days latter, he called to see how I was doing and when I told him there was no improvement, he had me come back with no charge (who does that?). After a second series of positioning, my problem was solved!! I am so grateful, I had to write this review. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR!!! Extremely unprofessional and insulting. This doctor actually told me that I was a difficult patient and that it wasn't worth his $65 office visit. He was in a hurry to get to the Hollywood Bowl for a concert. He also charged me $30 to come back in for a second visit just to explain a cleaning tool that he sold me from the previous visit. I am a senior citizen and can't remember things as clearly especially when I CAN'T HEAR WELL in the first place and I can't follow instructions in a rushed manner. After waiting 20 minutes for the office receptionist to get her credit card machine working I was finally able to see the Dr. who took 2 MINUTES to clarify the use of the tool. To add insult to injury, what should have been a FREE visit, I had to VALET my car and pay another $6. My daughter found raving reviews about this doctor praising his patience, kindness, and attention with the elderly. This was FAR FROM THE TRUTH. For a doctor who specializes in hearing loss and aid equipment, he is unsympathetic and runs a practice that cheats the elderly out of their medicare by overbilling for "drive-thru" speedy appts. SAVE YOUR SELF THE TIME AND AGGRAVATION and find a doctor who actually cares about his patients and provides quality care and expertise in audiology. read more
