First of all, be aware that this location has moved across the street, it's on Petit and Ventura across from where Jerry's deli used to be. I came here because I get really backed up ear canals to the point where the wax blocks my ear drum and I can't hear. I was dealing with that all week and made an appointment here to get my ears cleaned out. I don't have PPO insurance so I paid $250 for the visit- not terrible for an out of pocket expense. The Dr cleaned my ears out in about 20 minutes and I was able to hear great again, what a relief! (I had applied peroxide drops for 3 days prior... not my first rodeo..) One of my ears is still a little swollen from me fussing with it all week so the hearing is slowly getting better in that ear. Be aware they do not validate parking. Overall I was in an out with no problems so I have no reason not to give 5 stars! read more

Long due review for my ENT Dr Reder. I've been seeing Dr Reder for the past few yrs and honestly he is probably the best overall doctor I've seen. He's very knowledgeable and gets straight to the problem to treat whatever is wrong. Besides being a great doctor I think what separates him is the way he treats his patients. He is genuinely a really great person and i know people just want the doctor to fix whatever's wrong but it really does make a difference when you can just be relaxed and have good experience at a doctors office. In response to the last reviewer, Dr. Reder is a pediatric ENT, hence the toys and kid stuff all over the office. That said, I went in to see him for my own medical needs. He's knowledgeable though quite a chatterbox. My friend said he reminded her of Dr. Larch from "Cider House Rules," and upon my visit to his office, I can see the resemblance. I was looking for a decent ENT who would accept my health insurance. The office visit co-pay was $30 and parking in the underground parking lot was $3 for the 30-40 minutes or so I was there. I am told the office is never busy, so there is no huge wait - including the time when I came in. If there is ever a need to see an ENT, I would come back here and nowhere else. read more

Okay, I know it's weird that someone can have so many (as of right now ALL) five star ratings, especially on the internet. I thought so too, but the reviews didn't seem too fake, so I gave it a shot. I went to see Dr. Reder for ringing in my ear. Technically, the issue hasn't yet been resolved, but I have at least one more visit for tests coming up, so he's not done with me. However, as of right now he's getting five stars based on his disarming bedside manner and competent professionalism. At least I got the impression it was competence (I'm no doctor). I'll update this later when the doc and I have come to the end of the road with my ear, but so far so really good. read more

I decided to see Dr. Reder on the basis of the many positive reviews here on Yelp. I was not disappointed. Dr. Reder is caring, compassionate, truly interested in me as a patient and as a person, relaxed, non-alarmist, and (to use an over-used buzzword) holistic in his approach. I left his office with a good understanding of what my issues are and how to deal with them. What more could I ask for? Nothing. Terrific experience. I would definitely recommend Dr. Reder, and he would be my #1 choice for any and all ENT issues I might have in the future when I am in this area. A small p.s.: One reviewer mentioned the simplicity and relative brevity of the paperwork in Dr. Reder's office. I was looking for an ENT (Otolaryngologist) who took my insurance. I found Dr. Reder in Aetna's "Doc Find" directory. When I saw he was highly rated on Yelp, he became my first choice. His staff made an appointment at a time convenient for me. His office building was easy to find. Parking in the underground garage was hassle-free; $4 for an hour. The building and offices were functional (except a drinking fountain didn't work) but 'no-frills'. The waiting room was not crowded. Dr. Reder saw me promptly at my appointed time. He was friendly and upbeat. I explained I was seeking a second opinion regarding a small lesion in my throat. My dentist had spotted it and referred me to an oral surgeon who said it was probably nothing, but wanted to cut it out anyway and ask questions later. Dr. Reder spent a reasonable amount of time examining me. When I explained I had a nasty gag reflex, he was very careful to avoid triggering it. (Both my dentist and oral surgeon had felt the need to poke around to see exactly how nasty it was). After his examination, Dr. Reder said what I had was almost certainly benign. He named what he thought it was and a few other things it might be, likening it colloquially to a 'pimple.' He explained how it was unlike anything which might be dangerous or malignant. He recommended against biopsy. Surgery in my case would cost at least $1K, require general anesthesia, and take a day out of my life. It seemed an overly aggressive course to me. I appreciate Dr. Reder's apparent experience which allowed him to be confident in his diagnosis. I concur with the other reviewer (12/19/2008) that Dr. Reder is not overly aggressive and not likely to recommend unnecessary treatment. And I enjoyed his friendly manner. read more

Dr. Vera Ceilio is the best! The office was able to fit me in this morning because my ear is hurting really bad and my sinuses have been jacked for three weeks. They took me in right away without any wait. The office staff was very nice, and Dr. Vera Ceilio took her time with me and thoroughly explained what she was doing throughout my entire appointment. I found Dr Reder on yelp and part of what drew me to him was because of what other patients say about his bedside manner. I have to say they are accurate. I was having a recurring cough and runny nose. Three weeks was too much for me. After looking around I found Dr. Reder. HE IS FANTASTIC. First of all you can tell he sees a lot of kids because his manner is funny and light and very playful. But don't be misled, he knows his stuff and is very conservative when it comes to surgery or prescribing medication. He's just your basic old time, nice, smart and kind doctor. A day after I went my husband went to see him. We're both sick but thanks to Dr. Reder we're on the road to recovery. Plus, if we or our daughter ever get sick again and need an Ear Nose Throat specialist who also performs facial plastic surgery we'll call Dr. Reder first. Awesome! read more

Dr. Reder was very friendly and light, and I agree with the other reviewer - was very knowledgeable and professional. The only thing I would have liked is to have received a report or summary of what he found - didn't get any kind of receipt or anything like that. But I will call and ask for it. Oh, I went because I had an endoscopy done by a Dr. Marc Wishingrad. I developed a severe sore throat immediately and he would not take responsibility for it and tried to get me to go to one of his ENT's he works with. Dr. Reder is truly a good doctor; however, I had bad experience with the staff at front desk. They called me every day for three days that they could not find my insurance ID on the insurance company's website. They called the day before my appointment that they figure out how to verify my insurance. I arrived at 3:20pm for the 3:30 appointment, but did not see the doctor till 4:26pm. No explanation was given. I was just sitting there. Finally, when I was ready to leave, I had to remind them to provide me a receipt of my credit card payment. Disappointing. read more

I was referred to Dr Reder by Dr Schultes office who happens to be in the same building. I was seeing Dr Reder to get a second opinion from a dr who just wanted to start surgery without doing a proper eval of my issue. When I went to see Dr Reder for the first time I was so afraid that I might have to get surgery so I was panicking. When the nurse called me back I was so afraid and she could pick up on that and put my mind at ease. I met Dr Reder and the first thing out of his mouth was a joke and I was so comfortable and knew I found my new Ear Nose and Throat specialist. Everything from the way his office was set up (very cozy, small town feeling) to how easy going he was - I am blown away.
