Dr. Cohen is a great doctor! I went to Dr. Cohen due to chronic sinus congestion. Dr. Cohen examined me and ordered an MRI which determined that I had a mass that needed to surgically removed. Dr. Cohen was wonderful throughout the entire process...calling me personally to talk about what to expect with the surgery, medications, etc. He was always available to talk (these days finding a doctor who personally returns phone calls and speaks to the patient directly on the phone is rare!) Dr. Cohen is a gentleman! As I sit here a day after the surgery, I am pain and complication free and the surgery itself was a breeze. I had a head laceration that I needed closed because the emergency room couldn't fix it. Dr. Cohen got me in same day and stitched me up. I appreciate how much Dr. Cohen does for his patients. I know that my review is mayb one of the only negative ones out there, but I'm here to say he screwed up my daughter's nose. About two years ago he examined my 22 yo daughter and said she had a badly deviated septum, with a pretty bad narrowing of her nasal passages. We agreed on a septoplasty to straighten the septum, thereby enlarging her passage. surgery came and went, but she had enormous discomfort and pain afterwards. Fast forward to almost TWO YEARS LATER and she starts seeing possibly one of the best interns in the city. He looks in her nose and reports she is unable to breathe out of one side,confirming with her that she could only breathe on one side. We told him she had been operated on by Cohen about a year and a half ago. He told us to go see Cohen who is in same building to check. Cohen looks in her nose and says that the work looks good and he does not see any problem With his work. Our doctor says I want you to go to UCLA see a FACIAL plastic surgeon. Went to meet him and he takes one or two looks And says for me to come over and see what he's seeing--a completely blocked nasal passage. HE says he does these revisions all the time and the next thing is another surgery. He says he vey frequently repairs other doctors messes! Dr. Cohen actually looked a bit startled that we questioned his work. Her recovery was much better and she was in no pain. I first consulted Dr. Marc Cohen over five years ago. My ENT doctor had recently passed and I needed to find a new ENT. After thorough research, I decided on Dr. Cohen. Originally, I went to see him for an ear infection but to my surprise, he diagnosed a deviated septum. I also needed turbinate reduction. No doctor had diagnosed this before. Segue to 2022. I was having great difficulty breathing. It was time to take care of the deviated septum. Back I went to Dr. Cohen. He remembered me. My left nostril had completely closed by this time. No air was getting through. The surgery was scheduled in the middle of August 2022. Am I glad I got the operation? You bet. I can actually feel the air go in and out of my left nostril. Was it an easy operation post wise? Honestly, it was difficult for me. For others, it may be a walk in the park. It took about one and a half months for the nerves to regenerate in my left nostril. Until then, breathing was difficult when alternating between nostrils. Sleep was sporadic. At the end of September, the situation changed. I was able to sleep six hours without interruption. I was able to take longer walks and exercise. My health noticeably improved. No more nose strips. No more Flonase. There are several standouts in my medical journey and I would like to mention them: First: Sherri Cruz. She called me when I confirmed I wanted to go ahead with the surgery. She scheduled my pre and post op appointments, advised what days to have tests and blood work done, and the actual surgery date. Sherri also emailed me a list of drug/supplement interactions list which proved to be very helpful. Extremely supportive and caring. Very meticulous. Sherri's wonderful. Don't ever lose her, Dr. Cohen. Second: The surgical/support crew at the Pacific Ritz Surgery Center (part of Encino Outpatient Surgery Center). From the first steps I took into this facility via reception to being wheel chaired out afterwards to the car, I was impressed by the efficiency/precision of the operating room staff. Post-op was terrific, too. Big props to Dr. Cardenas (anesthesiologist), nurses (especially Chelsea who has a great sense of humor), techs, and supporting staff. Third: Dr. Cohen's office staff/ENT Group Of Los Angeles. The front office was always helpful. Never rushed. Wonderful attitude. Same with the techs/medical assistants. Whenever I needed an appointment, the office would immediately schedule one. If I needed to talk to Dr. Cohen, they would arrange that, too. If there's one thing that makes going to a doctor's office easier to handle, it's a terrific front office. Dr. Cohen certainly has one in place. Finally and most importantly, Dr. Marc Cohen himself. A thorough professional, extraordinary surgeon, and first class human being. Yes, he's an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Division Of Head & Neck Surgery at UCLA so he has the bonafides. However, it goes beyond that. It's Dr. Cohen's attitudes towards his patients. We had some genuine talks about this operation He took my questions seriously. I had a thyroidectomy 2 weeks ago performed by D. Cohen and I am deeply grateful for his competence, kindness and compassion. He removed a goiter the size of a grapefruit from my chest ( I had been mis-diagnosed and treated for asthma for years) and while the surgery went well, he had prepared for any complications by having 3 surgeons and 2 anesthesiologists on hand. Pre-surgery, he was patient and answered the many questions my children and I had. I saw him 2 times post-OP and my recovery has been easy and the scar healing well and my trachea and esophagus are also grateful I would also like to thank his scheduler, Sherri, for her effort on my behalf. We had some glitches including an insurance issue the day before surgery. She competently figured it all out and allayed my concerns. She was kind and understanding. I went to dr Cohen with incredibly inflamed tonsils and a very bad case of tonsillitis, was very amazing and explained every step of the process to me. After dealing with breathing problems and nasal drip caused by an injury to my nose for 2 years and taking all sorts of medications and inhalers to see if it would help, I finally got my problem fixed thanks to Dr. Cohen. He figured out that I had a deviated septum because of the injury and my airway was being blocked by broken cartilage. After being postponed because of covid we finally got to do the surgery this year to fix it and I'm back to normal. I can breathe again from both nostrils equally and don't need to take anymore medications. I'm truly thankful for his help. His staff is great. Sherry was very attentive and kept in touch with me while we planned everything out (and tried during the pandemic/shutdown last year) I'm thankful for the great result. I find Dr Cohen on Google searching for Doctor in my neighborhood for my chronic sinusitis. After couple of visits , conservation, scan testing I decided to have a surgery what is was the best decision in my life. Wish I could give more stars...Started to see Dr. Cohen in January 2015 under stressful conditions that I had just lost my hearing abruptly and was seen the next day. Couldn't have been happier than I was; not because everything was "fixed" but because of Dr. Cohen's compassion towards my issues. I have been going there ever since and couldn't be happier. The staff always greets us promptly and courteously and professionally. Some of these reviewers really need to focus on what a review is. You don't give 3 stars to a 5 star doctor just because you didn't read the signs about parking and got a ticket. That's not anyone's fault but your own. Didn't see the sign? Here's what the city says, "Boo Hoo". That's YOUR responsibility even if the sign is obstructed. But to give the doctor 3 stars? Learn how to review. You're reviewing a doctor, not a street sweeper. It can be difficult choosing a specialist sight unseen and without a recommendation, but simply because s/he's in network. But we took a leap and went to Dr. Cohen for my 15yo son who has been experiencing ringing in his ears. Dr. Cohen was very thorough. When the physical examination didn't yield any information, Dr. Cohen had his audiologist perform a sophisticated hearing test. When that didn't yield any further information, he had us get a blood test. The blood test revealed a slight chance of a possible autoimmune problem so he has now asked me to take my son to a rheumatologist. Dr. Cohen called me at night after office hours, even though he should have been home, to give me this information. While this may seem like a lot of steps that could yield no answers, I would rather follow through on his advice and be sure my son is not at risk for hearing loss or other serious conditions. Dr. Cohen is very thorough and regardless of the outcome of the further analysis with a rheumatologist, I'm glad he has taken my son's situation seriously. read more

I would have given this business 5 stars but the reason I didn't is because: there was too much waiting, waiting and waiting. I arrived at 9:45 for my 10:00 appointment but I didn't leave until 11:15! This was merely for a hearing test for heaven's sake; and no one bothered to tell me about the parking situation prior to my office visit. Only when I arrived did I see the sign that the office does not validate parking but I was slapped with a $75 citation because I parked on Etiwanda on a day where street cleaning takes place between 10 and 12 on Mondays. However, I was parked in front of several cars that all received tickets, including the person behind me. How could we possibly see a sign, particularly one that is restricted, when a tree obliterates the view? I already filed a complaint with the Los Angeles City Traffic Division. Otherwise, I was pleased with Dr. Marc. His office manager, Aracely was professional and the audiologist Yen, was friendly, has a terrific sense of humor and makes you feel at ease. Fortunately, my hearing was good enough that I don't have to come back unless I need to. Yippee! read more

This update is long overdue. I came back to see Dr. Cohen earlier in 2015 after a vicious bout of sinus infections. I was miserable, had lost my sense of smell, and was convinced that I needed surgery. My allergies were worse, I couldn't enjoy perfumes, hand lotions or anything of the sort. Dr. Cohen (being the exceptional ENT that he is) not only treated my sinus infection but also helped me tremendously with my allergies, and all without surgery. He probably doesn't even know the kind of impact he's making on his patients, so this is my opportunity to thank him and to tell the world what a brilliant doctor he is. It's like night/day for me after my visit. I can smell again, I've had no sinus infections since, and my allergies have improved tremendously! I can even use perfume again, and lightly scented lotions as well. I finally found relief! I am so grateful!! His staff is great now, they're very friendly and personable, so the visit and ease of scheduling was excellent. I scheduled online on ZocDoc, and even pre-filled my forms online prior to my visit. His staff called me to confirm my appointment and had my paperwork ready when I arrived. The process was very pleasant from start to finish. I took my daughter in to see him this past week and although her condition turned out not to be an ENT related issue, I still appreciated the conversation and feedback Dr. Cohen had to offer. I'm sure he's highly respected in the medical world and if he isn't, he needs to be! I have nothing but praise for his work ethic, bedside manner, knowledge and expertise. Dr. Cohen removed my thyroid after my cancer diagnosis and he did a fantastic job from start to finish. He reassured me that the procedure would be routine, answered all my questions and calmed all my concerns. It was very easy to get appointments and he was great at getting on the phone when I needed him. And during surgery, he spent an extra two hours just to make sure my scar would be small and cosmetically pleasing after healing.
