Very disappointed. My father has hearing aids that he purchased at Universal Hearing. He has been without them for weeks because they do not answer their phone. There is no follow up and they have left patients without any way to get help with their hearing aids. No answering machine. No answering service. He was able to get help at Costco. I had a bad experience here. Stay away from Pamela Liebenthal. I went to Universal Hearing Care for a hearing test. She inserted probes in my ears and I told her my left ear hurt when she inserted it, but she continued with the test. I had pain and pressure in my ear for several days and had to go to my ENT Dr. as I was very worried that she damaged my ear! I complained to Lisa Goldstein (person in charge at this location) and she said someone would call me from the corporate office but no one ever called! Also Pamela said I had hardly any wax in my ears but my ENT Dr. removed wax from both ears. read more

My wife had been complaining for years that I had the TV too loud. Universal Hearing did very thorough testing and fixed me ups with a state of the art, almost invisible, hearing aids. There is now peace at home. The people are very helpful and a delight to work with. I have put off writing a review of my new hearing aid. The reason is simple. My new hearing aid has made a profound impact on my quality of life. Let me explain. Sound quality is very important to me. I love talking and discussing things with people. I love movies especially those with complex plots. I love to listen to music. This best describes my ideal sound environment. My family and friends over the years have lobbied hard for me to get my hearing checked and to get a hearing aid. My hearing loss has been with me for years. I had adapted to it and had developed coping mechanisms. So I was tested and discover that I had sever hearing loss in my left ear and moderate in the right. I was surprised. So I decided to bite the bullet and get a hearing aid. Before my hearing aid anyone or thing to my left was somewhat muffled. I would always attempt to have people sit or walk to my right. It was embarrassing to constantly be asking to repeat a portion of a conversation or worse yet to misinterpret what had been said. This was also so true when watching movies. At home I could rewind or turn up the volume. But, in a movie theater I would ask my wife to tell me what had been said or completely miss part of the dialogue. Music is important to me. Over the years I have constantly improved my stereo system. But, while family and friends enjoyed my music there was a common complaint that it was excessively loud. So I went to Universal Hearing Care and worked with Judy Hodosh and Pamela Liebenthal about my hearing loss and the possible options in hearing aids. I ended up getting an Oticon hearing aid. So I get fitted for a hearing aid based on my particular hearing loss. I walk to my car. I quickly realize how much sound that I was not even aware of. On the ride home I play the stereo and suddenly I hear music to my left. I get home and immediately turn on my stereo. I was amazed at how great it sounded. The quality of the sound, the clarity of the vocals was as if I had just added a very high end component to my system. My son walked into the room and turned up the volume. I quickly said that is to loud. He laughed and said that is the volume that you used to play it at. I realized that what they heard at a volume of say one. I heard at a volume of four. I alway couldn't understand why everyone liked the volume so low. I was talking to my wife who was to my left and slightly to my rear. I heard clearly everything that she said but noticed she was talking loud. Her comment was that she was so accustomed to me not hearing me that she reflexively raise her voice. So, here it is in a nutshell. My sound environment is improved immensely. I could not be more pleased. My obnoxious habit of blaring the sound of movies and music has come to an end. My family and friends are thankful. My advice to anyone with a hearing loss is to get a hearing aid. You will be surprised how much more sound there is in the world. read more

This is my second review on these wonderful people. I had some issues with my hearing aids (my fault), and Judy fixed them with no hassel. I also missed an appointment, didn't put it on my calendar, this is the worst. They were still professional and were understanding. I know no matter what issue I have with my hearing, I can always depend on everyone here for their honesty. They aren't trying to get money out of you! I love you guys!!! read more

wonderful staff and very knowledgeable, all helpful from receptionist to audiologists. Walk-in hours for little 'tweaks' but not difficult to get timely appointments as needed. I walked in knowing I had some hearing issues; a couple of weeks later, had hearing aids so small no one knows I'm wearing them but I know that for the first time in years, I hear 'normally'--in crowded restaurants, big events, intimate settings. read more
