From the beginning, they had excellent communication with us, which continued throughout the painting process. We communicated via phone call, text messages, and email. David was very patient while we picked our colors. He came by a few times to do some sample swatches. He got us the exact colors and the exact finish we wanted. Especially with COVID right now, some paint finishes were out, but he was able to get them! We loved the process of how they painted and which rooms to start in first. At the end of each day, David let us know what they'll be working on the next day. They moved everything, covered and protected it, and placed everything back when they were done. We have 9 ft ceilings and two 15 ft stairwells. I can't imagine it was an easy job but they did it flawlessly. We're also changing our flooring so they cut out the edge of the carpet so that they can get full coverage of the baseboards. They also hammered in the nails from the carpet tack strips so our children don't get hurt. They paid excellent attention to details when painting and used the highest quality paint with ultra low VOC's. We have two toddlers, so the paint quality is extremely important to us. Not only did he do an excellent job painting walls, ceilings, and woodwork, but repaired extensive dry wall damaged from roof leaks, repaired and painted old wooden windows in our guest house, and stripped wallpaper. Drapery rods were cleaned before installing and draperies rehung. There was nothing he couldn't do, even adjusting an exterior door to close properly. Cleanup was great, even cleaning our tiled patio. When he was done our house, garage, shed, and guest house looked immaculate, ready to rent. Yes, we absolutely recommended George's Painting. Here's some examples from an extension on the house: 1) Designs and blue print specifications were not met, there are spots where walls didn't meet although specified. 2) Nyr tried to stick us with a small garage door, claiming why would we want to be able to fit two cars through at the same time (obviously how are we supposed to even get 2 cars in if the door isn't wide enough?) 3) They started sticking up drywall even when we explicitly told them not to, plenty of places were leaking pipewise and roofwise, but they insisted on sticking up drywall to cover up. 4) Do you want to argue and be pulling you hair out for a job that was supposed to be done in a short time? A job that was about 3 months went on for nearly 9. 5) Nyr constantly is digging in your pocket, pretending like you're some developer that he can shake down for cash. There's always some kind of work that are "unforseen circumstances." 6) They'll use the cheapest cost cutting methods to skimp on materials. 7) From the garage, the chain drive didn't work from day 1. Even when complained to about it, he just shrugged and didn't care. 8) Things like drains in sinks did not work from the time they were installed, again he neglected to care. I could keep listing off stuff, but I think this is enough for people to get a good grasp of what's going on with this company. Don't be fooled by a silver tongue and some lower priced quote. You'll pay way more for these guys than anyone else.

What sold us on going with United Builders: - Mike was excellent in creating a sharp 3D rendering of our design, as well as providing good design ideas and information on what would work, and not work well, with what we wanted to do. - They offered a great 'one stop shopping' arrangement where you go to their L A showroom and choose all your tile, countertop, flooring, trim, vanity, virtually everything. Super easy! We went there and chose everything including vanity color, type and style, mirror frame material, marble countertop, shower trim and backsplash trim for tub and vanity. - The price was very competitive and they included the vanity and tile for free with a promotion they were having. They stayed within their budget throughout as well. - They promised daily status reports and on time project completion (19 days or basically three weeks). We allowed four weeks ourselves, just knowing how remodel projects can run into delays for various reasons. What actually happened: - We started on March 12 and finished June 2! - They ran out of tile and were delayed over a week to get more. - They forgot or lost the vanity style and color we ordered and we had to choose again via phone photos, unless we wanted to go to LA again. - We provided the mirror (which was in a very expensive frame, for the vanity, which they were going to build a frame for). We thought they would return our frame to us but they thought otherwise and advised we should have been more specific in saying we wanted the frame back and now it was gone. No information as to where it went, just that we were not getting it back. We let it slide. - We rearranged our schedules to be home for their workers and on a few occasions they did not come when they promised and one occasion was 'No Show-No Call'. When we called them to find out what was happening, there were often no return calls, or returned calls a day or two later. There were certainly no daily status updates and in fact we were in the dark several times during the project not knowing what was going on, why there were delays, why workers weren't here. - The first countertop delivered did not fit as they had the wrong measurements. Another delay. The second countertop which they installed, was the wrong color and did not match what we had chosen. They ripped it out and then couldn't find the right marble for over a week. Finally, they said we had to go back to LA and choose again, which we did. Another long delay. Of course, the marble we had chosen in the first place, was right there all along so it was never clear as to what the delay was about, and why we had to go to LA a second time. - After more delays to get the vanity, when it was finally delivered, it was not as we had ordered ( wrong number of drawers, no pull out draw as ordered, and a chip in the top). More delays to take it back and fix. This actually took three visits to repair. - The mirror frame was also delivered damaged, more fixing, more delays. We were frustrated beyond belief and thought we would never see the end. Bottom line: - To their credit Nir (Neal), the project manager agreed to fix, replace or repair everything that went wrong. - The quality of the work and materials is very good, the bathroom is beautiful and we love it. What they need to fix: 1. Lack of Attention to detail and follow through (the cause of all of their mistakes and delays, which could have been avoided). 2. Promptly fix mistakes! There will always be mistakes made, but dragging out remedies over weeks makes the client even more frustrated. 3. Improve communication: keep the client informed, show up when when you're supposed to, return calls, don't keep the client hanging for days and even weeks, to resolve problems that the company created. Would we hire United Builders again? No! We have completed many remodels over the years and sadly, this was the worst experience of all.

I should have written this review a few years ago. Keith Painting painted the exterior of my house…read morein late summer of 2020, during the height of the Covid era. They did extensive prep work before commencing to actually paint the house. The prep is key. Anyone can paint a house, but getting the surface prepared so the paint job will look good and last a long time is most important. I have a particularly difficult retaining wall in my front yard holding up my front lawn, and the wall is covered with stucco. Water seeps through the stucco and over time breaks it down. If the surface is prepared properly, the stucco can last for years before this happens; if it's not properly prepared, all it takes is one rainy season. These guys did a great job both on my house exterior and stucco-covered wall. They look great and have lasted a long time. It was a breeze working with Daniel to get the project set up, and telling him my concerns about the retaining wall. He assured me that he "got it" and that the wall would perform like it was supposed to, and boy did they come through. They also bid the job $1K lower than the other company I had bid the job (who I should add is also a company I have had do painting before, and who I trust to do great work.) I will definitely use Keith Painting next time I have a painting project, and I have already sent referrals their way.
