We had two different repairs done by two different service reps, and both of them were wonderful! I needed three blinds repaired, another blind inspected, and a smoke detector installed. Both reps were quick, professional, and knew exactly what they were doing. They also cleaned up after themselves and even went the extra mile to fill in any holes in the walls that were made during the repairs, which I really appreciated. Definitely recommend them. One helpful tip: if you need a service rep who speaks English fluently, especially if you have a repair that requires a lot of explaining, just mention that when making your appointment. Not only do my husband and I recommend Fix Brothers for others, the real endorsement is that we would and will 100% use them again ourselves. After soliciting quotes from three yelp businesses (all with great reviews), we went with Fix Brothers -- even though they weren't necessarily the cheapest of the bids -- due to their strong communication and thorough scope detailing. That's a big one for us. We've had to deal with many vendors after a water intrusion incident in our condo and communication was always a real pain point. Mia (the person who helped us get all set up) was always quick to respond when we had a question or issue via Yelp. Fix Brothers from top to bottom really do seem like genuine, kind people just wanting to do a great job. Alex was the tradesperson (is that the right word?) who did the majority of the work, though Anatoly helped him at one point. Alex was fantastic! Again, just a professional, talented, kind human being. If I wanted something a certain way, he made it happen. If he wasn't sure how it might turn out, he expressed his concerns and pitched an alternative. It was truly collaborative. He went above and beyond making it as close to perfect as he could (a tough task in an old condo building where there isn't a single straight wall or level floor.) We had three projects needing Alex's skills (all three are pictured.) The first was a closet that had extensive damage from a much more complicated smart system that we've minimized, so the closet needed large and small drywall patching, smoothing, and priming. The second was to create a built-in bookshelf look in another area using three bookshelves we bought from Wayfair. Alex created a framing so that they filled the full space and you couldn't see a single seam from the original independent pieces. It looks like he built the full thing from scratch into an existing pocket in the wall. Exactly what we wanted. It involved removing chair rail, molding and base board cleanly so he could reuse it in the finishing, which he did perfectly. The third project was Ikea cabinets we were having installed by the Ikea-chosen installers. We learned they don't do any necessary prep or finishing, just simply put up the cabinets. So we needed Alex to remove and patch an unsued grate, take off the molding, chair rail, etc... again so that it could be reused. After the Ikea installers left, the finishing needed some serious TLC. Alex did an amazing job capping the molding, adding new shoe molding so cover the gaps in the hardwood (even staining it to match) and helping fix some of the inherent issues in the Ikea butcher block so that there wasn't a gap in the back. Seriously, he upped the polished look of a basic Ikea Sektion setup a ton with the care he took. We're thrilled with how it all turned out. Invoice came quickly and Mia was flexible with multiple options for payment in a way that was easy for us. Like I said, a great experience. read more

I needed a dishwasher removed and a new one installed. it had been in place for 25 years and everyone said it was too hard to do. not for fix brothers, it took a lot of figuring out and some muscle but our guy never stopped trying, got it out, had to cut some over hanging tile to get the new one installed but it's done, looks beautiful and was very reasonably priced. definitely give them a call for every project you need help with. It took a ridiculous amount of back-and-forth messages just to get this company to finish the job. They came out the first time and didn't fix the door properly because they needed to order a specific piece. We had to negotiate and reason just to get them to order the part and schedule a second visit. After all that hassle, the work is still broken. Because of how they restructured the door, it is completely misaligned and will no longer lock, creating a major security hazard. On top of that, pieces of the new seal are already falling off on day one, and there is chipped paint damage all over the frame. When I reached out, management refused to stand behind their work and told me I'd have to pay a whole separate fee for them to return. Absolutely unprofessional and no quality guarantee. Save yourself the headache. We are now hiring a different company to fix their mistakes. read more

Requested service to fix and move my kitchen counter. The person came 1hr late. He was waiting outside the house and never called me - he didn't have my number. Basically, they sent a random guy who doesn't know my number or about the work that needs to be done. I clearly told them one person can't do the job and that I needed 2 people. They still sent one person. He asked me to wait for another 30 mins so another guy may be able to come. But then, the company texted me saying they initially insisted on just one person. We've had recurring leaks in our kitchen ceiling and have slowly fixed everything else we could, which helped some but it was still happening in one spot. I had two leaking windows that I needed fixed. The process of coordinating an inspection was smooth, and what stood out to me about this company vs. other handymen we contacted was that they actually explained their proposed solution, part of which was investigating/understanding the root cause of the leak vs. pivoting immediately to "reinstall window" or "re-caulk". My trust was validated when the team they sent were able to identify some exterior stucco cracks as the source of the leak and even did some testing with our garden hose to verify. Communication to schedule was fast, and the job was completed in a timely manner. We did get some rain recently, and I didn't see any leaks, so hopefully that's the end of that!
