I got great service here today. Unfortunately, great service can only go so far when the inventory is depleted. I came in after lunch, and at least half the bins for their varieties of bagels were empty, and others didn't have enough to get a half-dozen loose bagels of the same type. I hope they can replenish the bins a bit more frequently. Fortunately, I was able to get a half-dozen bagels of a second choice - didn't realize that the size of the bagels had changed either. This is still a good place for things like bagel sandwiches. If you want loose bagels, I guess you either have to come in early in the day, or settle for whatever is left. I do see that some id of a business manager, named Robert but with a woman's image, provides a reply. I hope this is an actual person and not some app scraping my text and generating a reply. I wonder why they have low stars since the bagels are amazing especially the breakfast egg sandwich! First of all, they have an app that you get free coffee when you orfer thru there. My regular order is the is the egg, sausage and cheese sandwich. I replace the plain bagel with the jalapeño bagel and the cheese with American cheese. So yummy and very filling. The bagel is soft and has real egg. I also tried the Vermonter and so yummy that is if you like sweet or change the bagel into sonething else like my fave jalapeño bagel. The service is hit or miss. Sometimes they are just busy. They could definitely needs to improve ln this area. Just went there recently around 1:00. They close at 2:00. I asked for a dozen bagels with 8 of them sesame. Nikki g at the bagels available I noticed the had about 15-20 left. Here's where the 1 star review comes in. Not sure oh he's the manager but the employee named ROB looks at me and says he'll only give me 4 sesame bagels in the most rudest of ways possible. Reminded me of the Soup Nazi episode on Seinfeld. I asked him if he was serious and he said yes, "Four" Never had this issue at any other bringers so I was shocked to hear him say this. This what it is. But...the part that drew me to write this review was the blatant rudeness of this knucklehead Rob. Spent the night in Albany and needed to grab some breakfast on the way out. Having had fond memories of this location from when I used to work at on Sand Creek Road I decided to stop. It was 6 AM I checked the website to make sure that they were supposed to be open. I see a couple of employees puttering around inside so I walk up to the front door. I pull on the door and it's locked. I stand there and I wait. The employees inside ignore me. About seven minutes later, One of the employees starts making hand gestures at me. Like I'm supposed to open the door. I pull the handle and the door is still locked. She exasperatedly stomps over to the door and tries pushing it herself. all while gesturing that I should open the door. The door continues to be locked after she pushes on it. Then she turns the knob and I hear the latch click. As soon as the door open she says "I unlocked that door!" As if the empirical evidence to the contrary was somehow my fault. I try to take it lightly but now I'm annoyed... I advance to the counter where the other employee waits to further ignore me. Seconds tick past before they finally ask for my order. They barely acknowledge it, and begin making sandwiches. I'm pretty sure one of which is mine. There is no engagement. No conversation. No pleasantries. I'm sanding awkwardly at the counter and realizing how run down everything is. The fixtures are old, worn, and yes... dingy. There is paperwork out on the counter. I ordered a bagel with bacon egg and cheese. They popped it into an oven and melted it all. They took their time with all the other sandwiches and ignored me completely after taking my order. The other worker came back from the back and rung me up and I was able to at that point put in an order for the iced coffee I wanted. The food itself wasn't great. The bagel was extremely greasy. The coffee was bitter. (I admit I'm much more used to cold brew now a days. And the worst part of all of it... Is they gave me the senior discount. read more

I don't eat bagels a lot but it looked like an average bagel place. But, I came here recently and noticed two things were which odd. First, they list the bagels they have on the chalkboard behind the counter on the wall but not all types of bagels in stock are listed there. If you look over the counter (which is pretty high) you can see the bins with the bagels but the employees stand in front of them so you have to ask them to move. Now, there is a side door and had we come in on that side it would have been easier. Second, the ceiling is disgusting. For a place that boils bagels and toasts bagels, the ceiling tiles (which are mismatched and look sloppy) and air vents look filthy. You would think a fire occurred the night before. It might be soot or it might be dirt, but whatever it is it shouldn't be in a restaurant. They need to clean the place up! read more

I love the bagels at Bruegger's! I've been stopping at Bruegger's for the fresh bagels and cream cheese for many years. The good selection of fresh bagels are warm, crusty on the outside and chewy inside, sooo good!! They got their start in Troy, NY many moons ago and have expanded nationwide. They have delicious bagel sandwiches, soups, salads, and hot and cold beverages. I can remember back for a few years in the 1990s when Bruegger's gave away free bagels for one day (limit one free bagel per visit). It was a big deal for my friends and I and we flocked here before, during, and after school, with some getting back in line or hitting other area locations. My all time favorite is the Cinnamon Raisin bagel with honey walnut cream cheese. However, the coffee here is okay, def not my first choice with plenty of other java options along Wolf Road. read more

I didn't examine the place closely, but I did notice it was tattered and not very clean - "dingy" would be the word - as others have noted. And the lighting inside is sufficiently low that I couldn't tell from the outside whether the place was open. I also experienced the phenomenon another reviewer described wherein she was the only customer at the counter and yet they managed to mess up her order - I was the only customer at the counter and asked for a toasted cinnamon raisin bagel with plain cream cheese and the guy started cutting up a cinnamon sugar bagel. I said, "if that's for me, I asked for cinnamon raisin, not cinnamon sugar," and he switched bagels, after making sure I really did want a cinnamon raisin. I'm hard of hearing and didn't get what he was actually saying, but he held up a cinnamon raisin bagel and seemed apologetic, and that's probably because the cinnamon raisin bagels were all very small. I said I'd take two and that took care of that problem. They use one of those commercial pass-through toasters and while I can understand the need to toast bagels quickly in an establishment like this, toasting should actually toast the bagels, and this toaster didn't. To my mind, a toasted bagel should be browned on the cut sides and a little crispy, and this bagel came out of the toaster looking exactly the way it did when it went in, and only slightly warmed. That's not toasting - that's warming, which is different, and insufficient when the customer has asked that their bagel be toasted. The lack of toasting aside, the bagel was alright. Nothing to write home about, but passable. And the house blend coffee I ordered was perfectly good. I have a kind of a weird feeling about Bruegger's in general, as my entire previous experience with them was attempting to visit the one on Central Avenue near the Westgate shopping center twice and in the middle of the day and finding them closed each time (their posted hours seemed to indicate that they're open for about four hours every day). This, my first actual successful visit to an open Bruegger's, did not do much to make me a rabid fan. Maybe I'll be back and maybe I won't. We'll see. read more

I've never been to a worse Bruegger's in my life. I stopped in around 2 PM a few months back for an egg and cheese on an everything bagel. I noticed an odd taste and literally spit out chunks of TUNA. It was all over the bottom of my bagel as well. I was mortified that they clearly don't clean their surfaces well at all. My nantucket peach mango juice was just a block of ice. Just thankful this didn't happen to someone with an allergy. Not to mention I left a review for them when this happened and I wanted to be contacted by a manager, and here we are almost 4 months later with zero response. Decided to give them another shot and went back a few weeks later, just to find marinara sauce all over my bagel as well. I wish I was making this up. I'm sure the bagels are fine on their own, nothing special but if I'm paying 8 dollars for a bacon, egg and cheese I want a fresh cracked egg and some real crisp bacon not microwaved! Although I live in Hudson Florida, Albany NY is my home town and one of the things I miss most is Bruegger's. I am visiting family for Thanksgiving and had breakfast at Brueger's on Wolf Road in Colonie today and it was as good as always. I had the Sausage egg and cheese on an asiago softwich. They were very busy today and had quite a line when I got there but they moved everyone through quickly. I'm sure I'll be checking in at a Bruegger's again before I had back South. I dig this particular Bruegger's location - they know what I want when I walk up to order, and are ready to punch my lunch sandwich card and move me on my way. I like the quick and friendly service, and I notice that there are a ton of regulars popping in each and every time I go. I usually opt for the turkey w/L,T, and Mayo - occasionally I'll add the provolone - on asiago parmasean softwich bread, because it's totally filling and very flavorful for a deli sandwich. Sometimes, if you get the right cashier, she/he will give you a couple of extra punches on the lunch sandwich card and some extra coupons ;) read more

Had a fast almost working lunch here today. The pastrami Cobb salad was a little weird, with cold cut up chunks of an egg omelet on top of a Munster cheese and pastrami salad. Each time I go they are short staffed, out of items and it's generally a long wait. I've been to other locations in the area that are much better with customer service and cleaner! I was at this location this past weekend and decided never again. No more chances. They had 3 people "working" but only one prepping customers food. She had very long fingernails that she was clearly struggling with under the gloves. There was cream cheese all over my wrapper and bag. Plus it took her a tremendous amount of time to make a simple bagel. Then there was no one to be found as the cashier was restocking cream cheese and the 3rd person was MIA despite a line about 6 people deep. A decent bagel cafe, (excuse me, bakery.) This place specifies that they are indeed a bakery, not a bagel store, but honestly I couldn't tell. Nothing seems that fresh. The service was very into their job, active and social. The menu is large, with many interesting options. I like the layout, but the decor is a bit old. I had ordered bacon and egg on a bagel. This was a bit disappointing because it was served on a small bagel with precooked egg and bacon, sitting in large containers. Plus, they ran out of plain bagels?!?!?! The pricing was reasonable. The benedict bagel was actually pretty good. But, for a bagel place, this place was a little disappointing. read more

Never again! Slow service. Dim employees. Substandard food. Had a pbj wheat bagel and hot coffee. The coffee was really weak, like half strength. I used the half and half from the insulated pitcher which felt cold, but there were warm, mostly empty pint bottles of regular milk just sitting on the counter. I took them to the clerk and explained that milk had to be kept cold to be food safe. They looked surprised, and only said they hadn't put them out there. To put it politely, I had a couple of urgent bathroom visits later in the morning. This is the second location of this chain that has been not good. I'm sure not going to try any more. read more
