My husband and I were delighted to see that the line was reasonably short while on our way to our gate. I now understand the reasoning for the short line. My husband ordered a bacon egg and cheese sandwich on Asiago and I ordered ham and Swiss on plain. Our flight got delayed from 10pm to 6am in the morning. After staying the night at the nearby Marriott Hotel, we checked in again at 4:30am. Among the food choices, bagel sounded good for breakfast. Their reviews are pretty bad but our experience was quite good. Customer service and speed were acceptable. The bagels were really good and nicely toasted; and they did not skimp on cream cheese. A solid breakfast option before you take off. Ironically located right next to Shake Shack, which serves solid breakfast burgers of their own, Brugger's more than holds its own and, in fact, is probably the way more popular option in the morning for travelers. On our way out of Cleveland, the wife and I made a quick stop at Bruegger's, which was bustling, while Shake Shack was a tad quieter than usual. But don't feel bad for Shake Shack because they probably get a bulk of the action after breakfast. For my breakfast, I ordered an everything bagel with egg and cheese and sausage with an extra egg and my wife ordered the Farmhouse with 2 eggs, peppered bacon and ham, cheddar cheese, country pepper cream cheese on a cheesy hash brown bagel. First, the everything bagel with egg and cheese and sausage was solid. It was nothing extraordinary, but it was good for what it was. It was exactly what I hoped for and expected at 8am - well-seasoned eggs, a good sausage patty and a decent everything bagel. As for my wife's Farmhouse bagel, this was something I had never seen before. The cheesy hash brown bagel was very interesting, but tasty and very different than your average bagel. In fact, it didn't look anything like a bagel, but more like a bun. At first, I didn't know if my eyes were playing tricks with me at 8am, but it was indeed a bagel ... I guess. Everything else in there was on par with what I expected ... if they were on different sandwiches. There was a country pepper cream cheese mixed in with the eggs, bacon, ham and cheese, which kind of threw me off. I can't say it was bad, but it was unique. Besides the solid breakfast sandwiches, service was pretty quick. Shake Shack has great breakfast sandwiches, but do yourself a favor and skip that because Shake Shack is everywhere nowadays. The only thing that saved this place from a 1 or 2 was the young man working this morning (Monday August 12 at 6 am). Not sure what his name is but he was the only man working with two women. The line was about 20 deep and took quite a long time. The woman who I think might have been a manager didn't seem to be very helpful and he was handling ALL the chaos himself with a great attitude and a smile on his face. If you DON'T have the app, you should understand how service works here: 1. To-go orders are the priority. No matter how long the line, the boss man will dedicate AT LEASTone person to making to-go orders. 2. They will batch your order when busy. That means they will take a set number of order (4 in my observation), all 4 stand in line to pay, then they make all 4. What's the big deal? Well if you're the last to order, no worries as yours is relatively hot. If not, it's not. 5. Only one person can run the register. The others are either not allowed or not trained. That means you can't pay when he's busy, and when he's at the register that's one less person helping with orders. That also means other employees are standing around as everyone seems very single function trained. 6. This place is slow. How slow? I just timed from when I joined a line with 6 people in front of me until I received my bagel (onion toasted with butter; that's it, super simple) and it was 47 minutes. So far, it has always taken me longer to order and get a toasted bagel than to get through TSA. 7. They don't care about any of the above. Read the other reviews below. Apologies, management responses, but nothing changes. People have been posted reviewed like this for quite a while and it's simply not going to change. It's sad, really. The saddest part is that the staff doesn't seem to realize that they're putting themselves out of work with this method. By prioritizing mobile orders, people will figure out it's a mobile order or a missed flight. Mobile ordering cuts out the cashier / ordering process, guess what that means? The person taking my order asked my name, which is a very common name with only 4 letters, he forgot it. My order was very simple, just a bagel with cream cheese and tomato, not toasted. I really liked my sandwich but marked it down a star due to surlieness and cleanliness. The lady making my sandwich was the most unfriendly person I encountered on the trip. More of a grunt when I asked questions and her mask was BELOW her nose and half way covered her mouth while prepping my food. Bagels / Breakfast I typically avoid bagels outside of the NY area but it was like 5am and I was going to be flying for a few hours so i popped into the line at Brueggers and ordered up. Ordering is a pretty simple affair- tell them what you want and how you want it - step over to pay and add in anything else like coffee and get on your way. 5/21/22 @ 9am. The only thing less refreshing than a TSA encounter is getting excited about smelling fresh bagels and then experiencing the absolute RUDEST people in the airport. Everyone that went to this counter was barked at and shouted directions at. I heard more hospitality from the actual customers than the staff. There was one man at the register who seemed to be making an effort to offer customer service and field the angry team making bagels. I heard customer after customer say please and thank you and they take your order and bark "step to the line". It honestly was practically comical that a team could be this miserable when I guarantee all of these people would be happy to tip.
