What a cute place this is!!! It's located on a corner and has lots of windows and great sunny colors inside (turquoise and yellows) and you just feel kind of happier automatically. They have a terrific, and eclectic menu with standards but also some really unique and fun choices. We started with an order of the French toast sticks which were homemade and had lots of cinnamon and sugar on the outside, and soft and yummy on the inside. A woman two tables down commented on the cinnamon smell and I told her what it was and she then ordered some too :). Yummy! I ordered the Breakfast Spaetzel dish because I love Spaetzel, but also because it was unique and sounded amazing. It had scrambled eggs in it (beautifully prepared eggs for that matter), and bacon, some chopped tomato and onion, and a garlic parmesan sauce. It was terrific, but extremely filling! My husband had the Breakfast sandwich and said it was fantastic as well. Their coffee is rich and delicious too. They also have daily specials too. The service was exceptional as well! Everyone seemed happy, were helpful with the menu and any questions, and attentive on our drink refills etc. Overall a wonderful experience, and as someone who likes savory and unique things for breakfast (but rarely finds them) this is a fantastic concept and a great place to start the day! We came on a Sunday morning and there was no wait which was a plus. We got seated by one of the big windows. We were given menus and were told that our server would be with us shortly. We sat there for a good 10 minutes without seeing our server and without any drinks. Finally he comes over and brings us water and takes our drink order. We had plenty of time to look over the menu so we were ready to order. I went with the Cheesesteak omelette, sliced ribeye pieces, caramelized onions, roasted mushrooms and lots of Munster cheese. It was a decent size and it was delicious. Just enough pieces of steak and lots of melty cheese. It came with a side of potatoes and those were not good, dry and hard. I would have liked hot sauce or ketchup for them but my server was not around for me to ask. My bf got the lemonberry pancakes, buttermilk pancakes with lots of fresh blueberries and lemon curd, topped with blueberry syrup and whip cream. Food was good, ambiance was nice, however our service was not good. Our server was no where to be seen. He was in the kitchen most of the time. Took forever to get out check and then to pay. After reading reviews it seems like service here is hit or miss. Kind of a shame that after so many complaints the service is still not up to par. They were out of everything we asked to accompany our food such as ketchup and sour cream. They were also out of tequila so couldn't get the mimosa we wanted. Truly the only good part about my experience was my Bloody Mary. Our server checked on us two times and we sat without water for over 20 minutes. I really love this menu and it's not expensive. Stuff runs about $12-$15 per plate. They've got lots of gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options as well as a pretty awesome hot sauce bar which is really unique I think. The place settings are cute and match the color scheme of the walls and doors. Their bathrooms are kinda gross. Not dirty necessarily, but the grout around the tiles is all grimey. It's dimly lit in there and just doesn't match the feel of the rest of the restaurant. Just obviously hasn't been updated in years. Also, if there is a wait for a table you should definitely WAIT. We made the mistake of sitting at the bar today and had to endure yelling across the restaurant by the bartender, some of the servers, and some drunk customers. We literally had to ask the women next to us to place stop yelling across us. "Just walk over there and talk to your friend please." We've eaten here lots of times and we always like the service at the tables as well as the food so we'll come back. Oh, but my food was cold today. Mine: The daily special (sliced ribeye with fried egg and caramelized onions)... my yolk was cooked thru, not runny fried egg yolk. The potatoes were over salted. Boyfriend ordered the vegan hash... apparently it comes with plastic bag in it!!! We flag our waiter down immediately, it was on our 2nd bite into the meal. Let him know, he tells us he will see what he can do to get it comped, then the hostess comes and apologizes and offers us mimosas as an apology and offers to remake the same dish OR order something new. Boyfriend decided on the special as well. Food is rushed out. They took his silverware and didn't even check if we had everything or needed anything before running away. Had to get up and ask the bartender for silverware. Check finally comes, and they charged us full price for both meals and the Apple juice. I asked to get his meal comped, I guess the manager comes back at this point to ask WHY I'm asking for the food to be comped?!?! THERE WAS PLASTIC IN THE FOOD!!!!!! He proceeded to tell me, they took the hash off because of that, and offered us mimosas. I'm not drinking, so comp the food.. you giving us free drinks, comp the amount of the drinks then... NOPE. GIVES A WHOPPING $2.50 OFF?!?!?! Barley an apology and has a take it or leave it attitude about the whole thing. Apparently it was a plastic bag top.. Said since my boyfriend ate the new meal he has to charge us?!??! You have to be kidding me. You do realize he wasn't going to eat the food that had plastic in it right??!! I came here with a group of 6 on a Saturday morning and we barely had to wait 10 mins to get a table. While we waited, some of us enjoyed a cup of coffee and some of us went to the bar area and ordered mimosas. The mimosas were so good (the perfect OJ to Champagne ratio) that we all ended up getting one. The server was very nice and answered all our questions on the menu. We didn't wait long for our food and everything turned out delicious. I was very satisfied with the food quality, the service, the pricing and I enjoyed the atmosphere. They both received the incorrect menu item. There are 2 types of egg while omelets on the menu which had to be explained to the server. They were offered replacements, but opted to eat with the rest of the party. The food was good, served hot, and the portions were large. Coffee was forgotten for 1 of the diners. It did arrive quickly after a reminder. Coffee refills had to be requested. The women's restroom was less than clean. It was old dirt - not from the day's business. We were happy to visit one of the many restaurants close to home. We can check this one off the list. We probably will not visit again. Perhaps it is noted on the menu somewhere - but beware - the 20% gratuity is added to the bill for customers (maybe a certain party size). The tip is calculated on the total including the tax! Our bartender was personable and skillful, made me a nice proper martini without any hidden insulting upcharge for the martini glass or straight up (how else would you drink a martini anyway?) so I had a couple. The downside was that the place was really understaffed, the two bartenders were overwhelmed by the medium sized crowd. The place is pretty new, maybe they are still working out evening staffing. Brunch game on point! We stopped in after dropping the teenager off at Marquette to take the ACT. Seems fair, he takes 4 hours of tests...we get a morning date! One of the reasons we decided to eat here was the fact that it is in town and that they actually open at 8 am on Saturdays and Sundays (most are 9 am or later). Loved the warm atmosphere on a cold Saturday! The walls are done in cheery yellows with big windows so you can feel a part of the fun Milwaukee environment. We were seated right away and everyone from the hostess, bartender and our server were friendly and seemed to be genuinely happy to be there (always a plus). We started off with coffee (delicious) and then got down to the important stuff! I had the biscuits and duck gravy OMG...HEAVEN on a plate! Perfect seasoning and it didn't last long! Hubby had the breakfast tacos and lets just say that I did not get to try them....pretty sure I would have lost a finger had I tried! Service was fast and friendly!
