True to it's name, this place serves up delicious comfort food brunch dishes. I recommend leaving all diets at the doors and going all out. The most popular ones were highlighted in yellow. The Dad Bod stood out like a Ron Swanson reply, "you had me at meat Tornado." Of course I had to get it with a cup of coffee. The Dad Bod is no joke. The plate was packed with meats, potatoes, and eggs. The pancake came on a separate plate. The whole dish was nothing but amazing, greasy, and savory goodness. The potatoes were crispy and the pancake was fluffy. I barely finished the plate before I was ready for an impending food coma. Servers were very personable and friendly. They always checked-in and even talked about visiting Seattle. This breakfast was really cheap for what I ordered. I recommend stopping by and trying out their breakfast favorites. How had I not tried this place before? I went today (Wednesday before Thanksgiving) in the morning with a friend, and we loved the ambiance right away. The menu is ample. Make sure you check both sides; you'll have several options whether veggie, vegan, or gluten-free. Prices are normal for brunch-sized options, and actually we both needs boxes to go! Mind you, I went in hungry with no pre-breakfast. Parking may be a hassle, so if you can walk, bike, bus or Hop it there, that will make your experience even better. read more

Not impressed. My veggie omelet had so much spinach that you couldn't taste anything else. It was obviously previously frozen spinach, then thawed and "smooshed" to a mash. Awful. Came here on a Saturday morning and wished I'd known about using Yelp to hold a place. Wait time was around 30 minutes. Once seated, I was super excited about the menu and it was hard to decide because everything looked so good! Found this restaurant during an overnight stay in downtown Milwaukee. The service was great but the food went from good to bad. My husband ordered the Basic Brunch: eggs, sausage and potatoes and commented that it was the best sausage he had eaten in a long time. Decent price of $11. I ordered the Corned Beef Hash and eggs, which was uneatable. Over priced at $16. The server shared the restaurant smokes its corned beef but this batch had not been smoked long enough as it was chewy, tough, and fatty. The dish was basically a greasy dish of limp frozen hash browns with huge 1" chunks of meat or fat tossed in. Most of the meat still had fatty pieces attached, while others were only chunks of 100% fat. I did not see that it was flavored with either the onions or parsley as described on the menu. The ingredients in a hash dish should be finely chopped or diced and fried until crisp and this dish had none of those qualities. If they want to keep it on the menu--then rename it and call it a "Corned Beef and Hash Brown Bowl." The poached eggs were hard with no runny yolk. I had asked for poached eggs with no runny white and corrected the server when she asked did that mean I wanted the yolk hard. The quality of the food had nothing to do with the restaurant being busy and not able to keep up. Other than a few to-go orders, we were the only guests in the restaurant. Sad to give this restaurant such a low rating as I am sure they are committed and have ideas--however, this visit was not at all meeting expectations. read more

This place felt pretty mediocre for the price. We came around noon and it was not busy but very warm inside. Felt like the AC wasn't working. Servers seemed not well trained and understaffed. The cook was bringing out food to tables. The server didn't get my food order correct and when the food did come out it was pretty underwhelming and tasteless. I got a Avocado BLT with egg. The bacon was super salty, the sandwich was missing the sauce that was supposed to go with it, the avocado looked like old guacamole. Definitely not fresh. After we got our food our server never came back. We had to flag her down for the check. There was only 2 other small groups eating during the time. There are better quality brunch spots in town. Our visit today was a big disappointment. We were sat upstairs which wasn't a problem until we quickly realized upstairs was not prepared to serve guests. Our server Chelsea was doing her best but she along with the other staff upstairs we're not setup to succeed. We ordered breakfast and it took awhile for it to come out. When we received it we were given waffles as part of our meal and we didn't order it, we ordered hash browns that never came. The table next to us had pancakes that also never came. We could hear a guest at the table on the other side of us state that his order wasn't right but he didn't want to complain. We had no salt/pepper on the table, no spoon or stir stick for our coffee, no jam or butter for the toast, syrup came in little clear one ounce containers. The space is in need of repair. The wood tables need refurbishing and the entire space has no ambience. The upstairs wait staff had no way of communicating to the downstairs kitchen or other staff without physically walking down. We had to wait for coffee until they brought up a big urn from downstairs. As we walked downtown after breakfast I was so angry that we wasted our money and time considering we saw so many other great options. The Marriott hotel should take this restaurant off their recommended list of restaurants. read more

My only complaint would be that our server gave us no indication that there were bottomless mimosas offered, in fact our hostess didn't even drop off a drink menu. Had to do a little bit of the serving ourselves in terms of asking for what we could get, but once we had it figured out we didn't realize how much of a treat we are in for. The crab Benedict I enjoyed was top notch and I am a bit of a snob when it comes to Benedict's. Mimosas were yummy (tip! there is a free mimosa offer when you check in). My friend skipped the simple mimosa offerings and went for some of the unique options and sadly I forget what she enjoyed but she ended up ordering a second of the same. It's always a good sign when you want another round of the same drink. Sorry I can't remember wtf she had. Bonus bacon review: I knew I wanted bacon I just have a hard time choosing. I asked my server to go ahead and make that decision for me. I figure she knows better than I do. Stopped by accident. A Saturday morning delight. My wife had the Brunch it up omelet, which had plenty of meat. I had the Perfect breakfast w/house made bacon. We both added the hash browns. The pleasant surprise was the Croissant Beignets w/caramel sauce. Worth the extra $s. Showed the girl my confirmation notice, and she kept saying we don't take reservations. That was strike 1. They finally was able to accommodate my 12 people group. Next the drinks in my opinion are watered down. I had a sweet tea, lemonade, with vodka. Only thing I tasted was lemonade. Strike 2. Lastly the food was just ok, I asked that my eggs be scrambled soft, two times I had to send my eggs back and they never got it right. Strike 3. I won't be going there again. When we entered, they said it would be a 20 minute wait because it just got busy. When she finally came back, we ordered and then waited quite a long time. I finally asked about our food since the table next to us, a party of 6, arrived and ordered after us and already had their food. She said, yeah, it's been awhile, I'll go down and check. Came back and said it would be up soon. Said we still needed silverware. Food came, still no silverware. Asked again. Waited 5 more minutes, not sure where she went to get it. Never asked for drink refills and we had to flag her down for more water. We finally helped ourselves to to go containers that were in a package on the bar and asked for our check. The food was great, a bit cold by the time it got upstairs and we waited for silverware, but the service was terrible. read more

Ordered the Bloody Mary flight, which you got to pick 4 different flavored vodkas to try, but it felt like just the flavored vodka and tomato juice, so not the typical Bloody Mary. Our server looked very rushed even though it was not overly busy in the restaurant for an early Sunday afternoon. Had a really good brunch on a Saturday morning. The eggs Benedict were quite tasty. The hollandaise wasn't a strictly traditional version, but went very well on the dish. The accompanying pancake was delicious. I also had the opportunity to sample the gluten-free cinnamon roll pancakes. Spectacularly good! You're certainly not giving up any quality by getting the gluten-free version of their pancakes. Also very tasty was the tequila sunrise Mimosa. Very good breakfast cocktails :-). I ordered more hot water and it was still lukewarm. Server said it sounded like the kettle was boiling. I've never left a review on any restaurant ever in my life, but I feel compelled to. I would be mortified as an owner if this were my restaurant and this was how my staff treated customers. My friends and I were so excited to try brunch it up. We heard it was one of the best brunch places in MKE. When we arrived we were seated right away. We ordered our drinks, however one of the cups already had lip marks on it. We asked for them to re-make the drink. We then ordered our food. I ordered the avocado BLT, but the sandwich came with absolutely no avocado. Another one of my friends ordered pancakes. They were cold, and not fluffy at all. We asked to talk to a manager after these three incidents. The manager fixed the sandwich, and took the pancakes off the bill but was rude about it. The floor was disgusting and covered in food and a gnats were flying all over. We will not be back and do not recommend. read more

Went to brunch with a large group for the first time at this location. While my egg rolls were good I was unimpressed with how the waiter handled a situation with my friend. She wanted to order the burrito without chorizo as she is vegetarian. The waiter told her the kitchen is too busy and it would take longer for them to make it. (No where does it say no substitutions) the response was just it would take to long and the kitchen is already busy and so is the restaurant. So she ordered the crepe with artichoke instead reluctantly. Once the food arrived she did not like the artichoke crepe it wasn't good I took a bit as well. She informed the waiter and he asked anyone else at the table if they wanted it! He did not offer/ask if she wanted anything else. The waiter then made some comments to the table next to us thanking them for being so understanding with how busy things are and that some people just don't understand when the place is busy. And gave them free drinks thanking them as they had to wait for fries. It was obvious that comments were meant to hit us at our table in regards to my friend with her meal. The only reason I gave a three versus a two is because I did enjoy the breakfast egg rolls that I personally ordered. These are the spinach artichoke crepes for $13.20. They were pretty good, but the volume of food for the price by itself made them not worth it. I bumped this from three stars to four because from looking at the menu, it seems fairly clear that if I bought "heavier fare" (a traditional egg plate with bacon for example) I would have gotten more food. It wasn't particularly warm, but that was on my dasher for stopping for another order, not the restaurant. My fellow Yelp predecessors got it right: 3 stars for Brunch. I know people always talk about halves and if there were such a thing I'd go with 2-1/2. The area is bright, a large bar the staff welcoming. It's the old España tapas if anyone remembers. I ordered the truffle fries because I like the idea of not only Parmesan and truffle but also the unique combination of root vegetables other than the obvious potato, this grouping also included parsnip and carrot. In actuality, though, what tasted best was the potato because it softens in a way that other root veggies don't. I suspect there's a technique or preparation that could level out the RV playing field ... but For my meal it was the indulgent biscuits and gravy. I'll cut to the chase: BLACK PEPPER. Early flavor, black pepper. Aftertaste, black pepper. And funny I'm not really the biggest black pepper fan. Great. There was not only black pepper in the biscuit batter, there wants tons of it in the sauce. Not good, y'all. I told the server and it was obvious this was recurring feedback. If someone can't take feedback and make edits then - well, that's an issue. Not sure if they've changed it or not - haven't been back. My friend went for the Elvis sandwich, which I did try. It tasted on the dry side with so much thick bread and could've used more syrup. But not terrible. And the name. Maybe it's the marketing geek coming out but people search brunch all the time. Brunch is a staple in Milwaukee. Even on Yelp I couldn't find the restaurant Brunch because it thought I was searching brunch the meal.
