Note; I went to the Laietana location but they don't have a Yelp page. The atmosphere was beautiful. Everything I ate and drank was delicious and our server Nicolas was amazing. He was attentive and also very chill. I got the shashuka which came in a bread bow that was perfectly golden with just the right amount of crisp. I also got the cava and the Chandon garden. The Chandon garden is good for people who like an aperol spritz, but the herbal flavor is not as strong. Overall it was a great experience and I will be back, hopefully before my trip to Spain ends.
We ran into this brunch spot right by our hotel and were pleasantly surprised! The inside was so cute and the menu had so many options. All the food was presented beautifully and we loved how the straws had the name of the cafe on them. For drinks, we had the mango matcha, chai, and orange juice. My mango matcha wasn't bad and my friend loved her chai. For food, we had the avocado benny, bagel sandwich, and some other type of sandwich. Both of my friends aren't fans of avocado and the staff was flexible enough to include it on the side. My avocado benny wasn't on a typical english muffin, but it was still good. We learned that Brunch & Cake is a chain, but definitely worth a visit if looking for lunch!
This was hands down the best avocado toast I've ever had! I ordered the avocado toast with poached eggs, served on black corn gluten-free waffles. Such a unique and delicious twist for gluten free bread. What really stood out was the presentation. I've never seen avocado styled like a flower before. It was too beautiful to eat, but I'm glad I did. Everything was fresh, colorful, and full of flavor. The vibe at Brunch & Cake is just as good as the food. It's cozy, stylish, and perfect for a relaxed morning in Barcelona. I highly recommend it if you're a brunch lover and you are looking for something healthy.
This place is super cute and cozy, while there's a decent amount of seating it is a bit tight and it gets really busy so be prepared. The outside also has nice seating just watch out for birds trying to nag you for food lol. The service is excellent, the staff is really attentive and friendly, the service itself speedy as well! The coffee is superb and the food here is delicious and definitely not going to disappoint, just bear in mind the service sizes are huge but you'll love the flavors!
This was our first stop after dropping our luggage at our apartment for the week. It was literally around the corner and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing the staff was so friendly and sat us right away at the window bar with a view of the square. Everything we ordered was amazing and the iced Spanish latte might be the best coffee I've ever had!! We will definitely be back!
I visited Brunch & Cake years ago on a recommendation from a friend and I still recommend it to everyone I know who is visiting Barcelona. The food is so fresh and delicious. The interior is light and bright and great for photos. This is the perfect brunch spot. The sandwiches are a great size and I loved the syringe of guac - so unique! The smoothies are so fresh and hit the spot perfectly! There are so many great choices on the menu, I really don't think that you can go wrong with anything! They do fun twists on classics, which really elevates the experience! Cannot recommend enough.
Traveling to Spain there are a couple of brunch spots I want to try for sure but I had to try Brunch & Cake first. The atmosphere is cute and Mediterranean vibes. Food was not as hot as I would have liked but the sangria and late saved the day, along with the good service.
Coffee I got a flat white. Very good. Breakfast I got the pancakes. The smoked lemon. Are so good. Service was a little slow but they were friendly. Not known for being fast. Everyone takes there time. Much like living in Hawaii on aloha time. But worth the stop. I wandered in one morning looking for a quick bite. But this place is a much better slow and enjoy sit down. The ambiance was casual and easy.
Our first full day breakfast stop in Barca. Wow. Indoor and outdoor umbrella seating in an active but quiet new center court. A second of two locations in Barca. Just a walk wonderful place for breakfast. Bright, friendly and pleasantl atmosphere. The dishes are just packed with flavor and the presentations make you want to order more just to see them. GF, not a problem here. We could have come here every day if it not for our yearning to explore as many different spots as possible. ENJOY
Ordered: Iced Matcha Latte with Oatmilk (~€6) Bagel (~€12): homemade seed bagel filled with scrambled eggs and mashed avocado, topped with sesame avocado, topped with pink hummus, pickled onions, radishes, and seeds Avocado Bennis (~€12): English muffin with avocado flowers and poached eggs drizzled with a light hollandaise sauce French Toast (~€14): homemade brioche dipped in their signature French toast milk, blueberry jam, fresh berries, banana and caramelized walnuts Aya's take: Aesthetically Brunch & Cake wins; I love the soft colors, brightness, and peaceful ambiance throughout. When it comes to the food, it was a big miss. This came highly recommended by my sister who loved it last time she tried it but nothing we got was anything more than average. The Bagel was the best of the 3 items. The scrambled eggs and avocado were great and the homemade bagel was soft and fresh. It was slightly too big and thick for the portion of eggs they gave. The pink hummus, pickled onions, and radishes felt completely out of place here. The Avocado Bennis was pretty disappointed and the crumbled tortilla chips on top felt unnecessary. The hollandaise sauce was also thicker than any I've had. The French Toast was beautiful, the fruits were fresh, but it generally lacked that syrupy sweetness you expect with a French Toast. Even the Iced Matcha Latte didn't feel like was made with real matcha. It was blended and just felt like a lot of empty calories to me. I really wanted to like it and maybe it was just an off day, but this missed the mark for me.
This is a good breakfast spot. The peach pancakes come with so much stuff, it's almost like a DIY birthday cake! I ordered it with a side of bacon, which was so good I had to order another second helping of bacon. I sat outside which was nice to get the breezy air. Too bad I didn't get pics of the interior since it looked so nice.
Everything is very aesthetically pleasing from food, to the drinks, to the interior of the restaurant. The food is good, but the focus is definitely on instagramability (which it excels at). The espresso martini was fantastic. So was the New York Cheesecake Pancake. The açaí bowl was good, but wouldn't be a recommendation I would make. Beware of a 10% terrace charge if you're sitting outside (they advertise it on their menu so it's not a surprise when the bill comes). Service was amazing. We had a young gentleman helping us out and he was very great. We arrived at a good time because right after we sat a huge line appeared.
Eggs carbonara was delicious. I also really enjoyed the vanilla latte. Inside was really cute and the service was good. Fun presentation on all the dishes.

BEST BRUNCH IN BARCELONA! A line to get in? You betcha. Communal tables? Almost always! Best food ever? 110% The menu is creative and innovative. The pistachio French toast was AMAZING! Thick bread coated in pistachios with a sweet cream and lots of berries. My husband got the shakshuka, which was just as phenomenal. The hummus was so silky and fresh, I could have eaten that as my whole entree. The coffees and lattes are not to be missed, and although there is a wait, service is fantastic both out and inside. You'll get plenty of samples and menus to browse while waiting, and there is no rush to leave when you're done. I would absolutely go back! Such a good experience. read more
Love this spot. Had to wait outside on line to get seated. The inside is small but managed to use every inch possible. I was seated on this metal plate on the floor that would shake every time staff walked by and my seat will bounce. No big deal. Staff was very nice and attentive even though it was busy. Food presentation is everything here. The scrambled eggs with avocado on multigrain bagel was so good. The fatteh hummus on the side was amazing. The Eggs Benedict was not bad. The Avocado toast was creamy and generous portion. Avocado on everything! The coffee was as expected. Highly recommend this place. read more

I have been coming to Brunch & Cake for 10 years, ever since I was studying abroad in Barcelona. The food has always been delicious and it keeps me coming back. The reason for giving the place 3 stars instead of 5 is because of the waitstaff, specifically a tall waiter with long and curly hair. Every single time I go, I have the unfortunate luck of getting him as a waiter. He is the most rude waiter I have ever met: - throws the QR code menu and WiFi chips at you; - makes rude comments about the table you choose to sit; - rushes you to finish your food and tries to rush you into ordering; - and makes homophobic and racist comments not knowing I know Spanish and Catalan. I never said anything or called him out because I don't want to take on his negative energy. The service was so noticeably bad that another nice and kind colleague of his had to step in and take over the service of the table. I am now choosing to go to My Friend Coffee instead. The service is amazing and the food is just as great, even better. read more

I didn't enjoy my experience here. The restaurant itself is so cute. The decor is amazing and the staff was beyond friendly. But being an open restaurant in the summer meant so many flies everywhere. I ordered the eggs Benedict and it didn't taste good. It wasn't salty and the decorative flowers added a strange crunchy taste. read more

Not too small and pricing was very reasonable. I tried the black peanut coffee which was with squid ink and peanut butter. Wow. Very interesting taste. If you love peanut butter than this something you should try. Had the quinoa Salat with passionfruit dressing. You really tasted the passion fruit in that dressing wow. Very refreshing and light. The salmon waffle with eggs Benedict were the best! Def a must try!!! the Caesar Salat with it was also sooo good! Breakfast burrito was also very good but was missing some texture. It was all the same mushy/soft texture, some crunchiness would have been perfect. The homemade Nutella pancakes were delicious. Wasn't the biggest fan of the pancake texture but I think the other pancake they offer is more popular maybe because it tastes a bit better? But still a very good option. Chicken sandwich: HUGE! I wish it came with more meat and guac. I enjoyed that more than the bread. It was cut in the middle half way through then stuffed with the chicken and guac with chips all around. A+ for presentation on all food and drinks! French toast: if you like blueberry I would recommend getting this. For me some parts of the French toast was not cooked fully. Service: very slow, it's a small space and about 2 waitress total that I saw taking orders. The other two were giving the food to people. Drinks: we got the chai latte and the Carmel latte both were sitting out for awhile before they were bought to our table. So they were not hot when we got them unfortunately. The drinks both needed a little more sugar in my option. It also didn't taste like Indian chai it was more bland and we couldn't taste the Carmel in the other latte. read more

This is on many "Best of..." and "Top N" lists, and has as many rave Yelp reviews as a parking meter in Palo Alto. I went on a Saturday afternoon and found a long line, but as a solo diner, they put me in the last spot at a counter immediately. Many of the reviews mention their avocado toast, which indeed is the MOAAT(see photo). While the bread is not exactly toast, it is a thick slice of excellent brown bread, with 2-3 times the usual amount of avocado. They also pass the Rick Steve's non-tourist trap test and will gladly give you a bottomless glass of Spain's finest aqua del grifo (tap water). read more

We came here at 8:30 AM our last breakfast in Barcelona. It pays to be early, because we definitely beat the crowd. Fast forward to 9 AM and there was a large gathering of people waiting outside to be seated! The menu had plenty to choose from, from the usual breakfast meals to more healthier options. I decided to order the Brekkie Board because I wanted a healthy option and the fruits were appealing. We originally came for the Matcha pancakes but were told that it wasn't on the menu anymore...darn! Anyways, the Brekkie Board was a big portion of food with fruits, grains, yogurt, nuts and orange juice. Everything tasted really healthy, which was a good detox for the end of the trip. I'll stress that the portion size here is really large, so I'd definitely recommend sharing your order with someone. Also, come here early! A cute place for lunch. The wait was 30 minutes on a Friday afternoon, as the place is small, with not a lot of tables inside. They do have a patio with a few tables as well. Our server was decent, not the friendliest, and wasn't always around when we needed him. We started with a couple glasses of Cava after our long wait--the Cava was outstanding. We ordered the Burger with Chips, and Breakfast Burrito. Preview of the menu items are a bit on the high side. The burger wasn't that good tasting, it had a funny taste to the meat. The chips that came with it were crispy and tasty. The breakfast burrito was the real winner here with the chicken, jalapeño peppers, egg, and many other goodies inside it. I loved this restaurant! So aesthetic, perfect view of La Sagrada Familia (also within walking distance), and amazing food and service! We were greeted by the host at the front and we requested to sit outside so she put us on the list and accommodated us. Super nice waiter and food came out so fast. One of my favorite eating experiences in Barcelona, and anywhere for that matter. My wife really hyped this place up after seeing the fun pics and good reviews so I had high expectations going in. Everything from the service, to the atmosphere and food surpassed my expectations. We arrived at about 750am, as we had our flight out of town in the afternoon. One of the servers, I wish I could remember her name, invited us in early and was so friendly and attentive to us. Our service was fast and she was helpful with deciding our drink and food options. At one point she noticed my wife and I trying to take a picture through the front window. Without us asking, she stopped what she was doing, ran outside and took a bunch of pics for us. For my drink I went with the fresh squeezed orange juice. It was so refreshing and flavorful. After that my meal came which was one of the most unique sandwiches I have ever had. I ordered the chicken supersandwich, which had pulled chicken, nacho chips, guac, and chipotle sauce. The kicker to this is the extra guacamole comes in a syringe. This not only looks cool, but was a nice easy way to add extra guacamole to the inside of the sandwich. The overall presentation of the sandwich was probably the best I have ever seen. On top of how great it looked, the taste was just as good. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, and was complimented perfectly by the chipotle sauce and guac. The bun was also amazingly fresh and of great quality to withstand all of the ingredients it was holding. Cannot day enough good things about this place. I would say it is a must stop for anyone in Barcelona. read more

This place was top of the list of breakfast places in Barcelona and it lived up to expectations! We didn't have to wait long either morning we went (we had to come back to try more) despite it being such an 'insta-worthy' brunch location I ordered the Brownie Pancakes, which were beautiful and delicious, but quite dense and more like cake than pancakes. I also got a glass of white wine. Everyone enjoyed their food but the presentation was more impressive than the taste. This is where I started my first meal in Barcelona! My flight arrived around 6am so by the time we got to the hotel and freshened up, we were ready to eat. This place was a 6-8 minute walk from our hotel, so my mom and I decided to check it out. When we got there, we actually got lucky time-wise. There weren't any tables but there wasn't a line either (I heard this place has crazy lines because it's popular amongst students, locals and tourists) Since this was our first meal, we weren't sure if we were to seat ourselves or wait for someone, because we were waiting outside. We actually saw one table outside clear up and my mom and I were down to sit there, but a group of 3 men took the seats while we were standing right there waiting for that table. The staff didn't say anything to them, but moved us inside. That was the only nuisance because we told the server we'd wait for that table. Anyways, we ordered lattes which were fabulous, and beautiful! We were sitting against the window - like how you'd sit at a bar, facing the alcohol, we were facing a beautiful building. It was actually great to see locals and tourists walking around, but it got a bit awkward when I'd be shoving food in my mouth and people would be staring lol I came hoping to order something I saw online - this Iberico ham ricotta and greens bagel with mushroom scrambled eggs but it wasn't on their menu anymore :( I got Brunch & Cake's take on eggs Benedict which includes: shrimp, poached eggs, rice, lobster hollandaise + salad on their classic charcoal corn sweet waffle. The waffle was pretty sweet but the flavors really complimented each other. It was a fancy dish and the presentation was beautiful! I wasn't a big fan of all the salad on it, because it was a fairly basic salad compared to the main dish! My mom got the breakfast burrito, which she wanted to eat with her hands but that was close to impossible because it was open ended! It was still really good, and half of it filled her up. I went to the Ramblas location but I figure all the branches are the same. Cute place, I like the decor. Service was fine. The actual food is mediocre at best, though "instagrammable". The bread in the scrambled eggs toast was sooo hard I couldn't cut it with a knife, and the flavor of the dish was meh. Beetroot latte lacked both art and flavor lol. My family didn't enjoy their meals either. We shared the smoked lemon pancakes and they were not good at all. Wouldn't come back or recommend. read more
While on vaction my wife and I came here for breakfast and we were not disappointed. We got their early so we didnt have to wait but if you got there after 0900 you'll probably have a decent wait. When we left around 0930 there was almost an hour wait. The food was awesome and everything is nice and fresh. I got the pancakes which were cooked perfectly and had some nice fresh fruit with it. Expresso was also good. Service was decent but the place is small and veryyyy busy. read more
This is one of the most well known brunch spots in Barcelona for a reason - it's really that good! There is just so much to love about this place: 1) The food menu is creative and will be unlike any brunch you've ever had. My favorite is the sandwich! 2) No matter which location you go to, the vibe is immaculate: light & airy, beachy, happy 3) The drinks are also up to snuff - I really liked their coffee specifically I would recommend coming on the earlier side if you are visiting on a weekend as it can definitely get quite crowded. We went to the new location and it took a few minutes to get seated despite the available tables. That being said, that was the only complaint. The aesthetic was great, flowers all over, very minimalist vibe. We got the vanilla latte, cortado, avocado benny added salmon, and the brekky burrito. All of these dishes were amazing. I wish I snapped a photo of the massive brekky burrito with a great presentation as it had "CAKE" spelled out on top with fruit, it also had curry mustard on the plate. The Benny had fresh salmon and the coffees were perfect. I look forward to returning! read more

5 stars for amazing food, selection, service, value, and location. I love how cute this place is. There's a long wait but they whip right through their line. They're efficient and well organized. The menu offer some unique selections with a twist to the classics. For example, my Benny... which was only a Benny because of the hollandaise and poached eggs. Nonetheless, a great twist to my ever favorite Benny. Their juices and smoothies are fresh and not overly laced with sugar. Their price point is also great, especially because the plate is huge! Overall, this place is fantastic! read more

It's Sunday here in Barcelona, a lot of restaurants are close. I saw this place on Yelp that was closest to our hotel that was open at that moment. This place is a hidden gem. Our foods and drink are very well presented. The restaurant is very cute and trendy with outside seating. I had tropical smoothie which is super good and refreshing. My husband had an Iced vanilla latte, but it wasn't the typical latte you would expect. It's different but delicious. We also tried beetroot latte it was okay and did not taste beets at all, taste more coffee. We loved our drinks! We ordered our entrees, I got banana matcha pancakes with a whole pear, oatmeal and slice fruits. My food was nicely prepared and taste better than it looks. My husband got their style of eggs Benedict , it comes with shrimp, lobster hollandaise and on top of a corn flakes waffle and salad on side which was really good and filling. I would definitely come back the nextime We visit Barcelona or some place that has Brunch and Cake Price was very reasonable read more

We waited outside for a few minutes. We were seated at the half inside half outside table. The carrot cupcake topped with cream cheese frosting was a morning treat with a large latte and cortado. Plus two iced vanilla lattes. Everything was excellent . It was a great start to our brunch. We had the big shredded pork burrito- Delicious! We also enjoyed the shredded pork sandwich- the bread was soft and the coleslaw and guacamole lifted the taste of the flavorful pork. Another addition was the cinnamon rolls not just one but around 5 per serving . They were topped with vanilla ice cream with small fruit alongside them. They were a feast for the eyes and stomach. Not too sweet but so good it was hard to stop eating them! A delightful treat! The portions are large and worth splitting. The decor is fresh and inviting. Service could have been more attentive with a few more employees. The owner( I'm assuming) wears all of the hats and stays busy. Overall, a fantastic brunch with exceptional attention to detail in the food as well as the plating.. I would highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Food came out really fast but the actual service was not good. We barely saw our server and had to ask others for items. He also did not bring out water until the middle of our meal and we were parched. The ambiance is very nice and cute, although there was an extra fee to sit outside we were not made aware about. The food itself was pretty good and filling. I got the avocado toast and added poached eggs. Coming from a person who loves avocado, I thought there was too much and not the right ratio of bread to avocado. Overall not a bad experience but would not go again. read more

My favorite bunch place when in Barcelona. Their menu is very diverse and has so many great things to try from breakfast burritos to pancakes, cakes and waffles. I highly recommend their burrito you won't regret it and u will thank me, it's so pretty to look at and it's packed with flavors. The guys working here are super friendly and nice. Tye lobster black waffle was good but needed more sauce as the bread & meat ratio was way off. So stick to the breakfast burrito. Their juices are all fresh and healthy dont forget get some. So don't forget to be nice and leave them some tips. They will greatly appreciate it. read more
This place was right by our Airbnb and we came on our last day. Everyday we'd walk past it and there was always a crowd. The line got long but we were seated within 15 minutes. The food came out even faster and it was one of the lightest eggs Benedict's I've ever eaten. I didn't feel heavy at all after eating it. 10/10 food and 10/10 service read more
Brunch & Cake is an extremely popular brunch spot that will peek anyone's interest just by gazing upon one single Instagram photo of a dish. The restaurant is cute and trendy, while boasting the most beautiful food I've ever seen before noon. They are affiliated with a few other shops in Barcelona and seem to be pillars of the food scene. The inclement weather wasn't ideal for us travelers, so the 30-minute wait (without coffee) seemed lengthier than it should have. Once seated, the server quickly placed our coffee order. The Cocoa Cappuccino, which is something I would never order unless traveling, was nutty, rich and soothing. But seriously, thank gawd for this cawfee! Here's my issue with Brunch & Cake: I didn't love the food. Salmon? Avocados? Bagels? These are my favorite things. So when my eyes are more satisfied then my stomach, I begin to question if this is just a place specializing in world class presentation as opposed to deep flavor profiles. Eggs were creamy, yet bland and the avocados weren't seasoned. There were unique accouterments, but they weren't enough to elevate the dish into a home run. Overall, the faces were friendly and the dishes were ideal to show off once we returned home. Ultimately, it seems to be a hot spot for tourists and the staff might not be able to keep up with the high demand. A little disappointed, but certainly a fine establishment. read more
