Stopped by at 4 with the family and the vibe was not welcoming. At no point did anyone smile at our group and in fact I could feel the tension from the two female employees. I went with the veggie sandwich and my brunch buddy went with some sort of omelet. Table timing was awful! He got his meal about 10 min. before I did. The sandwich was really good! The only real complaint I have about it is that the tofu pieces were very small for the sandwich so there were a lot of bites that didn't have any. We went to Brunchbar this morning around 9am. We were promptly greeted and seated by the server. I wish I had caught her name. She was GREAT, excellent customer service. The food did not disappoint. This place has been on our radar for a while but because of the long wait on the weekends opted out until now. We came for lunch on a Tuesday and it was still busy but not too bad. The place is small but lively. Our waitress was friendly and nice. We ordered: Steak and eggs: 5/5 for the price, the portion was really good. It came with eggs, steak, a salad, hash browns, and bread. The steak was so tender I was surprised. They had salt on the side and it was a perfect compliment. We asked for scrambled eggs so our kids can have some and they were fine. The hash browns was really good as well, subtle crunch on the outside but soft on the inside. Chicken and waffles 3/5: this was supposedly the most popular dish but I was slightly disappointed. The waffles has a velvety texture that I'm not a fond of and it's a little dry. I was hoping for some crisps. The syrup has a very strong scent (alcoholic??) that I can only have a little of at a time. The chicken was fine, it was tender, but I'm not sure why it's KFC chicken. Wow, we've been meaning to stop into this place and finally made it happen. It was exciting for us to find somewhere that was open at after 2 o'clock. I found that a lot of restaurants close between the lunch and dinner hour so by the time we wanted to leave the house, we would've had 45 minutes to eat if we went somewhere else. Upon sitting down, my son pointed out there was pink Himalayan sea salt on the table, and also the ketchup was organic. We were very pleased. We realize there was barely any chicken on the sandwich. Our server was very gracious in rectifying this situation right away . The different plates that they use were impactful and exciting. The balsamic dressing on the spring salad was really good! Not just any straightforward balsamic dressing and the salad had some mandarin oranges on it. Very fun. The crinkle cut fries on the plate were plentiful. We tried the B&B breakfast. The bacon was very floppy and chewy. The sourdough was tasty. The hashbrowns were plentiful and delicious very buttery and crispy on the outside the hashbrowns and the salad had a generous serving. The eggs were done to perfection. How very impressive that the lobster eggs Benedict had the lobster tail right on the plate! My son really enjoyed this and looking at it was a feast for the eyes very colorful and enticing. Chicken and waffles was good and it helps that they provide all sorts of sauces on the side if you're looking to spicen up your chicken. Don't remember getting too much syrup but they give a nice fruit jam to add on top. Brunchbar's a nice place to grab food but there is a long line outside and lots of other great restaurants to pick from. The (standard, vegetarian) burrito was excellent in portion and ingredient combination (the bland in cheese is significant in feeling this way)! A slight draw back is thy it was oily, but I did overlook that as this con was outweigh by the pros mentioned. The dressing on the salad was probably the second highlight. Such a simple part of the dish, but packed with flavor! The waffle in any of the waffle combos would not satisfy cravings if the expectation is fluffy, buttermilk or bouncy batter. The waffle deflate when it's cut into leading me to believe that the batter either has a portion of corn meal or a ratio of mixed flour keeping it from its potential. Basically disguised as a (Belgium looking) waffle, but a sad deflated balloon. Verdict, 3rd string option and overall would not consider returning unless it truly was open and I didn't opt for FF. The hash brown was smaller but it was just a thin layer, so it was super crispy and good. I also like the English muffin more as the garlic baguette doesn't have much garlic sauce/taste. The name of my dish is a bit misleading as the chicken wasn't spicy at all. Overall we enjoyed the food here and took about 1/3 of each plate home as we can't finish.
