Took my sister-in-law her for her birthday brunch and loved all the cute details in the decorations and space. Our server Sunny was amazing and he made sure we had everything we needed. The food was a little cold when we received it, but overall we had a great time. Our favorite were the oysters.

It doesn't matter what fish you order, all will be amazing - even if you aren't a fish eater like me

If you aren't in a rush, you will be treated with a first-class meal where you can tell the chef puts his heart and soul into the food. Everything was amazing and the service was very good. The funny thing is that despite being in the mall, we felt a world away inside. It was quiet and laid back, so we really enjoyed our date night here. For those who appreciate quality ingredients, this is the place to go. Even the butter was authentic high-end butter like you'd find in France.

We came here to celebrate our baby arriving in a couple weeks. It was a little staycation for us and I needed to hit my Marriott spend for ambassador status. 10 out of 10 would do it again. The breakfast was good. The service was prompt and we enjoyed the latte.

Not only was the atmosphere and food amazing, but the staff... wow. 11/10 experience. Across the board the staff was courteous, helpful, kind, and even funny! We had an excellent time. I wish I knew the name of our server he was great :) ps not pictured was the most delicious focaccia bread we've ever had (we still think about it to this day)

Had dinner here for a friend's birthday. Very friendly staff and the place looked clean and inviting. I had high hopes for the food based on the menu, but it was a mix of good and okay. For the price of the dishes I expected a lot better and this is on top of the 20% service fee. First up were the oysters. Very fresh and very good. Then came the Roasted Black Cod which had a very strong fish smell and was over cooked. Not great. Also tried the Dry Aged New York which was okay but over priced for the amount of food. Overall, based on the high price points and a mix of good and bad, and the fish being suspect, this was a real three star experience.

Wow, amazing service and the food was so good and yet classic with an innovative twist! I love being excited by a great Chef's food presentation, I am now a new fan of this friendly and welcoming restaurant!

Challenging to find, especially for someone new to the city. BUT SO WORTH IT! I arrived just as they opened. Service was exceptional, ambiance was chill, and the FOOD! It tasted fresh and homemade. I ordered a green tea with honey, the mushroom scramble and a croissant. Pricey for one person, but I wanted something made, not just pre made and to go. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. (A 20% service charge is built into the bill)

Beautiful atmosphere!! Had an amazing waiter...Martin Medina! Hopefully I spelt it right!? He was so friendly, quick, and knowledgeable! We came in with a crowd maybe a bit obnoxious but Martin made us feel comfortable and cracked some jokes with us! Hopefully he gets recognized! He was just fantastic! Also what was fantastic was their amazing delicious food! The 3 lamb chops were cooked beautifully and served with Brussels sprouts. I usually don't care for lamb chops because it tastes gamey but these chops were over the top delicious!! Also their beef short ribs was also an amazing dish. I can't say enough about this restaurant! The staff, food, ambiance, just everything about this place exceeded my expectations!!

Loved the location and the cozy, welcoming vibe -- definitely a spot with charm. The decor feels inviting without trying too hard, and the service was genuinely friendly and quick. The food was good, just not quite at the level you'd expect ; tasty, but not a "wow" moment. Still, it's a great place to unwind with a drink and enjoy the atmosphere. Solid choice for a casual night out!

We've been to the Lakehouse a few times already and have tried their brunch, lunch and dinner menus. They are one of our favorite spots to visit now. We like their brunch menu because they offer some good choices that we like. The only complaint is that their brunch menu doesn't change much or maybe mostly stays the same that we did not notice the difference between our visits. We recently went for their dinner which was fantastic, especially if you choose their deals, such as Date Night Package, which can be quite good because they throw in a bottle of wine. We also went there for the Valentine's Day dinner and it was also very good. The Lakehouse is on the more expensive side but the experience and the quality of food you get there justifies the price tag.

Came here for happy hour. I always get the dozen oysters for $2 each. Also tried out one of the cocktails which was decent. Steak frites are the second decent option on the menu. I like the aioli that it comes with. Service is always friendly and quick. Ambiance is upscale.

came on thanksgiving and they served it family style. started out with individual squash soup that was a bit watery. salad was refreshing and sourdough roll was so yummy! for the mains: turkey was dry, brussel sprouts super flavorful, mashed potatoes, candied yams a bit too sweet, brioche stuffing was super nice! dessert was pumpkin pie bread super moist and apple crumble which was very sweet. had a great time.

I'm not sure who needs to hear this feedback - but, the chairs need to be replaced in the restaurant for the prices and esthetic. I was like what in the shipwreck is going on in here. The restaurant has a pretty vibe but that decor...ew. We walked in on a Sunday mid-afternoon & were seated quickly. The waiter was really nice and did an overall good job. The bartender was slow as molasses getting out drink orders. We got our food in a somewhat reasonable time & one of our guests order was forgotten to be placed. We had 6 ppl and our bill was right under $700 + tip. Im not fully on board with saying my meal or drink (sangria) was worth almost $100. I ordered the Steak & eggs on the brunch menu & the steak was cook ok. Medium & everything else was fine. Nothing to send over folks to try. But, it served its purpose.

Server: "No. All our oyster sauces pre-mixed with horseradish, and they cant make a new sauce just for you" Us: "Could we just have an order of the oysters with your migonette?" Server returns with the sushi: "I went ahead and told the kitchen to take out the cilantro from the roll for you too. Did you guys want to take this to-go?" Us: "Why would we want the cilantro taken out? We just asked for the horseradish to be removed." Server: "You guys told me you cant handle spice and cilantro is pretty spicy to some people." Us: "We just wanted the wasabi left out. Everything else was fine." Server: "You know what, I'll just bring you some cilantro stalks, so you can decorate it yourself." Server comes back and drops a ramekin of micro greens in the middle of the table. I've waited tables myself for over 10 years, from diners to fine dining, and I wouldn't have dreamed of ever acting like that with a guest. At this point I spoke to the manager and he took the server off our table. The manager was very understanding and acted quickly to switch us to a new server, and they let us order the oysters with just the migonette. Even though the manager comped the oysters, and was trying to salvage our experience, our visit was pretty much ruined by that server. I've never been openly disrespected by a waiter like that before, and I've played the interaction out in my mind multiple times, and I still have no idea what made him crash out like that. Servers are the face and the personality of any restaurant. And to see a waiter get so openly hostile when someone is trying to I ever encountered a server who was even a fraction as rude as this guy was - he went from zero to hostile in a matter of seconds, and I still have absolutely no idea why.

You worked at steakhouse, and you should know what medium rare look like. The rest of the steaks were more medium than medium rare, but we were hungry already. With the leftover, the server put in on the floor?? It's food, the carpet is dirty and they've stepped on by many ppl from wherever they came from. We moved it to the table, and they moved it again to the floor. That drove all of us crazy. Other side notes: We noticed, they don't clean up the crumbs etc in between from the table anymore. And we saw when they cleaned up other tables, they just sweeped them to the floor, we saw old napkins on the floor when new guests arrived. We do not expect these from John Howie Steakhouse, and especially when you paid $1000 in one sitting. Btw, we told the manager about not putting leftover food on the floor.
