Had breakfast here this morning. Nice servers. Nice restaurant. Average food. Just had a ham and cheese omelette with potatoes. It was good, but basically just like any ham and cheese omelette. Potatoes were lacking flavor. My real gripe with this restaurant is how they bill. It says on the menu... a 20% service charge is added and that is kept by the restaurant but that servers are paid a commission. Tips are not expected, but greatly appreciated. So, how much does the server get? I tip well for good service. Normally, I know that is going to the server and the other wait staff. That's what I want. They are generally paid a low wage and tips make up the bulk of their salary. So, to the restaurant management that came up with this ridiculous plan... are you keeping the bulk of that 20% and not taking care of your people? Consumers like simple. I want to come to your establishment and have excellent food and an excellent experience. I don't want to sit there and try to figure out how to properly compensate the server. My career is 100% travel, both domestically and internationally. You have not come up with some cutting edge business strategy. You came up with a $50 omelette and cup of coffee that can be found anywhere. Just keep it simple. Get rid of the games. I'm sure the goal is to have customers tip the server 20% on top of your 20% while thinking they had reasonably priced food. Unfortunately, that math doesn't work well when a customer is one and done. read more

For the price of the dishes I expected a lot better and this is on top of the 20% service fee. First up were the oysters. Very fresh and very good. Then came the Roasted Black Cod which had a very strong fish smell and was over cooked. Not great. Also tried the Dry Aged New York which was okay but over priced for the amount of food. We've been to the Lakehouse a few times already and have tried their brunch, lunch and dinner menus. They are one of our favorite spots to visit now. We like their brunch menu because they offer some good choices that we like. The only complaint is that their brunch menu doesn't change much or maybe mostly stays the same that we did not notice the difference between our visits. We recently went for their dinner which was fantastic, especially if you choose their deals, such as Date Night Package, which can be quite good because they throw in a bottle of wine. We also went there for the Valentine's Day dinner and it was also very good. The Lakehouse is on the more expensive side but the experience and the quality of food you get there justifies the price tag. read more

I got the cronut benedict and afterwards could hear the waiter explain to the other table that it wasn't actually a cronut -- it's just a croissant. I wished he explained that when I ordered it because it would've changed my selection . . . plus when I got my order, it indeed was a flat croissant and had A BLONDE HAIR in it which I promptly pointed it out to the waiter. He apologized and brought me a replacement and I thought as a courtesy he would comp the dish or bring a complimentary glass of mimosa or something to make up for it. The manager also stopped by and asked how things were towards the end of the meal and made no mention of the hair in my food, etc. At $25-30 per entree, I would appreciate no hair in my food. It comes out to be about $216/person after tax and 20% service charge. Our servers were really nice, but the food was meh as usual. The first few appetizers and salad were joke. We would have eaten at home if we knew we were getting potato chips and goat cheese that tastes nothing special. The chia seed salad was the worst creation ever! Nothing went well together. I'm keeping 3 stars only because of the nice staff and the location. We still had a good time, but do not recommend this place for good food. It's very unfortunate because this place used to taste way better when they first opened. Now every time we go back whether for dinner or for brunch, we go home disappointed. Went around 5:30pm on a Thursday and there weren't that many people. Had a reservation for around 10 people. The service was okay, but the waiter did not have the greatest attitude when attending to our table. I had the spicy margarita as a drink and it was not spicy or that good. I asked for some jalapeños to add in my drink. For appetizers, we had oysters, truffle fries, the miso mushrooms, Brussels sprouts and the bread. The bread was delicious. The truffle fries were pretty good as well. The oysters were okay, but the sauce accompanying it had no flavor. The Brussels sprouts were very yummy, but when we ordered the second time it was overly salty. The fried mushrooms were just alright as well it was on the sweeter side. For my entree I ordered one of their handmade pastas. This was a 0/5 for me. The presentation itself looks like dogfood. There was absolutely no taste to the pasta. It was so plain. We got out from a dinner that lasted hours!! Literally! Reservation was at 5.30pm and we got out at 7.45pm. No restauranteur would like to jeep people for that long except for those 10 course menus. There were 2 waiters and another later came out later on to help them. Two cooks in the middle were just hanging the first 45 minutes... while we waited to have our order taken. They were all nice, ad friendly but one person in my party noticed that that shouldn't be affecting Customers. It took a while to recieve drinks first. Food was just OK. Nothing memorable. Duck was hard. I understand is tricky to cook. It can get harder if overcooked but this one wasn't the case. Pork was beautifully cooked. Drinks were OK, nothing special. They forgot our coffees. Don't know if they charged them, but we wanted to leave as soon as possible. Restrooms...they were an experience for everyone coming inside. Neither males nor females were expecting it. No changing tables by the way. They are mixed women and men. Good for the bar next door but not for kids, babies, granny, lactation, etc. Definitely not family friendly!
