The croissants here are not very traditional. I'd say they are heavier, less flaky, and the ham and cheese croissant for example was huge and reminded me more of a high end hot pocket than a traditional croissant. The fresh hot croissant dough was delicious however, and really satisfying. Probably not something I would order if not fresh baked though. The guava cream cheese bear claw however was absolutely stellar. The perfect balance of savory and fruity/tangy from the guava. But I digress...Royal Bakehouse has ample seating and validated parking in the building. We ordered from a kind and welcoming woman then proceeded to sit down at a semi clean table when she immediately brought over our drinks and insisted that she clean the table before we sat down, then apologized for not having gotten to it sooner. It was big though, flavors were good, just not flaky. This time I got an almond Chocolate croissant. This was definitely delicious. Love that it wasn't too sweet as well and the crunch is from the almonds. My only complaint is that there's never much left I when I go, and it's not that late. I came at 930!the second time around and there was barely anything left. People are nice though and the place only have a couple of seatings, it's mostly for takeout which makes sense cause parking sucks. A true hidden gem within the heart of downtown Bellevue, I'm so glad that there's another bakery in the area that is significantly less crowded than the more popular Farine Bakery nearby. I visit this spot sometimes on weekend mornings and it's never too busy - maybe there will be the occasional small line to order, but nothing too bad. My default always is either the plain or chocolate croissants, which are so incredibly light and airy with a delicate crunch on the exterior - exactly how I want it. I've also tried the Nutella cruffin which was also delicious - the cruffin itself wasn't overly sweet, and the texture was an in-between between soft and crunchy (as you'd expect with cruffins in general). And the Nutella stuffed inside of out just makes it so decadent. The interior is extremely casual, with several tables that are good for groups of around 4. There's also a small bar with a few seats facing the window. Pricing is reasonable and comparable to other bakeries in the area. This spot is located in the building with HaiDiLao and the old 24 Hour Fitness, so there's garage parking, a parking lot outside right next to the bakery, and street parking right in front. I've never had issues finding parking, but as the office building across from it (I think it's an Amazon building) gets completed and starts to be utilized, I'm sure this area of downtown will get a lot more busy. A fantastic option for a quick bite in the mornings when you need it. Highly recommend! read more

The employees here are also so nice -- we were greeted with a smile and they were patient while we were trying to figure out which pastries to order. I'm not a huge fan of pastries, but I decided to try the Lemon Blueberry Muffin and the Guava Cream Cheese Strudel to share with two other friends. They were DELICIOUS. I thought I wouldn't enjoy the strudel, but it was soooo good. It had a perfect balance of the fruity flavor with the cream cheese, and the texture of the strudel was literally perfect. We ordered a quiche Lorraine, a tomato brie and pesto croissant and a London fog. The pastries are a little bit pricey, but they are definitely worth it. Both of the items were outstanding. The tomato croissant was so savory and perfectly seasoned. I could only eat half, but I loved every bite. The kiss rain was tiny, but it packed a flavorful punch. I am really impressed with the quality of their baked goods. I can't wait to go back to try more of their sweeter croissants, and baked goods. The London fog was really well-made. We met the owner, who took our order and was the loveliest lady. We heard she bakes everything herself every morning. I got a strawberry croissant. They offered to warm it up which may have impacted the texture. I prefer my croissants a bit crispy but soft and this was mostly soft. The strawberry is just jam. Probably didn't choose the best pastry to make a review but I was feeling strawberry. It was pleasantly given to me on a plate with utensils since I decided to dine in. I tend to prefer unique offerings in a bake house and this one seems to mostly have more classic offerings. That's my self reasoning on why most of the pastries weren't that enticing to me. Just not my cup of tea. There is a lot of construction around this bakery so the view is construction. The bakery itself is very clean and modern. They did ask for my vaccine card. The sizing of the pastries is pretty big for the price and it can still meet your need for a pastry and coffee; but I'd say the pastries are pretty mediocre. They are very bready, less the true texture and style of an actual croissant or pastry. It veered more towards bready than croissant texture where the croissant reminded me of a Costco large sized croissant (which are still good of course!). If you're looking for a true croissant and pastry experience, I recommend Baked Flours in Beacon Hill, L'Experience Paris on Mercer (though they're kind of expensive), or Bakery Nouveau in Burien or West Seattle locations. Bakery Nouveau has the best croissants, small eats, pastries, desserts, and coffee imo. read more

We heard about this place a couple weeks ago and decided to give it a try. We live 2 1/2 hours away and frequently come to the Bellevue/Seattle area for fun, and cultural gastronomical experiences. I could tell, this was not your average pastry/coffee shop. They have a whole selection of sandwiches (including grilled varieties), as well as salads and other delicious items. Today I ordered the Vietnamese coffee. It was made in a latte style fashion, and was absolutely perfect. My wife ordered the oat milk chai latte, sweet but not overly sweet. I ordered a chocolate filled almond croissant which was sweet and buttery with just the right amount of chocolate, so as to not be overpowering. I also ordered a lemon - blueberry muffin. It came with a tasty streusel topping and was not overly sweet. For the main course, my wife ordered the bacon, cheddar and egg croissant. I ordered the smoked ham, cheddar, and egg croissant.
