A most egregious sequence of events…read more Agreed upon full day drop off for battery replacement; car did not start up right upon pick up, had faith, and it was dead upon morning. Had to Uber kids to school, call roadside assistance for jump. Was not told until back in person that the reason was THEY NEVER REPLACED THE BATTERY BECAUSE THEY DIDNT SEE IT ON THE PAPERWORK. This was the sole issue that had been discussed for 2 days prior. I'm still pleasant at this point; walk home. Receive call ACCUSING me of not giving them my keys; they strongly believe this because "I gave them the car running". I'm like duh, the battery's dead, that was a convenience TO YOU. At this point, I say "you already didn't render services upon payment in full and now you're telling me you lost my keys, why would I believe you?" I hung up, I'm on my way. On the way on my child's scooter, I get a VM, of course they found the keys. Pete(?) meets me outside, hands me keys, tries to show me "what happened". As I'm already getting in my car, he says "I don't appreciate you hollering at my guy". Well, I don't like the false security of being sent off for paid services not rendered and then getting accused of lying and the possible stress of lost keys on top! Wow! My car was overdue for a state inspection and the possibility of needing new tires. I called Duval's Service Center on May 2nd to schedule an appointment. They scheduled me for May 13th, which gave me plenty of time to reschedule more important things. I dropped my car off at the agreed upon time and was told that they would look at it that afternoon. One guy was nice and the other was not. Oh, to be pretty and young again. I never received an update from them. I called and it went unanswered. I left two voicemails and haven't gotten a response. I emailed the address listed on their website and haven't gotten a response. They are closed on Saturdays and Sundays which means I will not make it to my medical appointments this weekend and will probably miss my appointment on Monday. Had they told me that they weren't even going to look at my car at the appointment I had made well ahead of time, I would have never left my car with them. They have my car and my keys, so I have no way to get to anything I need to get to since hiring an Uber would be way too expensive and I cannot afford a rental right now. Scumbags, all of them. This is why I hate ever needing anything automobile related done. I wanted to reach out via Twitter, but their account has been suspended for violating Twitter's rules. They were able to fit us in within the hour and gave us recommendations on what to do until then. Turns out there was nothing visibly wrong with the tire, no holes or anything, so they couldn't do anything on the spot. They didn't charge for the inspection and filling up the tire. We very much appreciated their help and are glad to know we can wait until we get back to deal with the tire instead of worry all weekend. I was referred to Autometrics from a guy that worked at Advanced Auto Parts who noticed I had a frayed transmission belt when replacing my headlight. Autometrics works only on foreign vehicles and these shops are well-known in the area for doing exceptional work. Both Ray (Pleasant Street) and Teddy (Bath Road) are amazing. Ray is the original owner of the Pleasant St. location and Teddy is his daughter who runs the Bath Rd. location. Both of them know their stuff and are the most personable shop owners I've ever met. My first time going in, Ray took a peek under my hood and was honest about the fact that I could wait a little bit before getting a belt replaced. He also advised me on how to save on labor with other maintenance things I know I needed done down the line. When it was time to do the work, I needed a great deal of work done on my Subaru and was expecting to pay big bucks for it (head gaskets, new tires, timing belt, etc.).. I was pleasantly surprised when I was told the amount for the service! Finally, when I was ready to part ways with the Forester, I took the vehicle I was looking at in to get it looked over at the Pleasant St. location. Ray gave me some free advice that ended up saving me money in the long run. He looked up what my trade-in value of the Subaru would be and the NADA value of the Honda CRV I was looking at and advised me on what would be a good deal for me. I will continue to be a loyal Autometrics customer- they are the best!
