The last time we were in to have our winter tires turned over for summer tires, Tire Warehouse did the work. However they gave us the wrong tires when they returned our winter set. So when we went to put the snow tires back on this fall, they said these tires don't fit. I said these were the tires you gave me so you need to make this right. The store manager said he can't do anything about it. "Call corporate." I spent the next month, everyone other day speaking to their call center, caught in a loop of "we'll call you back." Finally I reached out to the CEO on LinkedIn. He never wrote me back. But he did view my profile so I know he received the letter. At long last, after more than a dozen calls begging Tire Warehouse to do what was right, they finally said they have tires but I'd have to pay to have them installed. I picked up the tires and decided to take them elsewhere to be installed. There's absolutely no way this company should be in business. There's integrity and there's not. And it either starts at the top or it doesn't. Clearly at Tire Warehouse (Monro), Michael Broderick has set the example.

A most egregious sequence of events…read more Agreed upon full day drop off for battery replacement; car did not start up right upon pick up, had faith, and it was dead upon morning. Had to Uber kids to school, call roadside assistance for jump. Was not told until back in person that the reason was THEY NEVER REPLACED THE BATTERY BECAUSE THEY DIDNT SEE IT ON THE PAPERWORK. This was the sole issue that had been discussed for 2 days prior. I'm still pleasant at this point; walk home. Receive call ACCUSING me of not giving them my keys; they strongly believe this because "I gave them the car running". I'm like duh, the battery's dead, that was a convenience TO YOU. At this point, I say "you already didn't render services upon payment in full and now you're telling me you lost my keys, why would I believe you?" I hung up, I'm on my way. On the way on my child's scooter, I get a VM, of course they found the keys. Pete(?) meets me outside, hands me keys, tries to show me "what happened". As I'm already getting in my car, he says "I don't appreciate you hollering at my guy". Well, I don't like the false security of being sent off for paid services not rendered and then getting accused of lying and the possible stress of lost keys on top! Wow! Mr Grimmel, the owner, said he can install 4 used tires for $200 and I agreed. He told me to come back in an hour or wait in the waiting room. I left and came back after 2 hours. He handed me a bill of $475 plus tax! He said his worker noticed the brakes needed work and they went ahead and did it. I told him I agreed to get 4 tires replaced for $200 and did not authorize for him to do any additional work, therefore that I was not going to pay for the brakes. He threatened that he will call the police if I didn't pay and that he will keep the car until I paid the full $475 plus tax. He also tried to appeal to pity by saying that he needed to pay his workers. He admitted that his worker was wrong and should've asked before fixing it. But since work was done that he will lose money if he charged me $200. I tried to negotiate with him to give me a discount or meet me in the middle but he wouldn't budge. So I ended up paying the full amount, but decided to not ever step a foot in his garage!

Unlike last time, I could lock/unlock her from the fob just fine, but when I turned the key in the ignition all I heard was CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK. My dashboard was lit up with every anxiety-inducing icon, the console info display flashing with endless warnings... but my lights worked, my radio worked, my key worked. I called a tow truck assuming - based on my research and a quick call to my mechanically-savvy dad - that this time it was my starter or alternator (she's not a new car, friends, but I love her so much and she only recently hit 50K miles). The tow truck guy came, took a look under the hood, and told me there was something wrong with my battery. I called Meineke and word dumped on them about what the problem was. They - effortlessly calm, cool, and collected like always - told me to "come on by". A half hour later I had a(nother) brand new battery. No charge, no fuss, no real wait. Apparently the first battery I got was defective (no fault of Meineke or mine). They use Interstate here and it looks like the performance warranty for most passenger vehicle batteries is like a year. I called my dad back to tell him, and apparently this exact thing had just happened to him a couple months ago - the big difference being that he brought his truck to a garage and they spent a week trying to diagnose the problem, never thinking it could be his brand new battery. The long winded story? Yeah, okay, I trust these guys. I like their friendly dogs, I like the way they interact with each other, and I like the way they talk to their customers. I'd also like to not have to see them again anytime soon, but for now: THANKS, FELLAS.
