Some of the entrees can be hit or miss - sometimes lacking flavor, a little too greasy, etc. Service can also be somewhat slow, a lot of young servers who seem to be easily distracted. This review is based on an average of several trips to this restaurant. I enjoy coming to the Grove and my husband and I love the fact that they have outdoor seating with heat lamps. The service is pretty good and food usually comes out quickly. This time I opted for the mac and cheese with short rib (a dish I have ordered a couple of times). This particular visit I found that the dish was very cheesy, to the point that it resembled a soup. Brunswick Grove is a local sports bar that offers your standard American dishes and bar apps, but everything about this place is just average. The ambiance was what you would expect for a sports bar. They do have an outdoor patio where they have additional seating when it's warmer. The service was unfriendly and inattentive...the waitress that took our order seemed so disinterested to the point where I think she would rather watch paint dry. As for the food, their wings were decent, however my fish tacos did not taste like fish tacos at all. They had these weird clumps of batter in them, and it seemed like there were so many onions, tomatoes and lettuce to the point where I felt like I was just eating a salad over a tortilla. 5 stars for one of the best thin, perfectly prepared pizza in the area (besides Mancini's which is obviously a pizza joint and specializes in pizza). Ordered a large white pizza with sausage and garlic and the inside was perfectly baked with ricotta cheese. Highly recommend ordering this even as a bar bite. It's sooooo good. Ordered the French dip sandwich too - was pretty solid and decent fries but nothing special. Now - the item that I would dock stars is the zeppole bites. This was ordered back in the winter of 2021. I didn't want to write a terrible review since I wanted to give them a chance with other foods. It tasted like pizza dough with powdered sugar and a side of chocolate dipping sauce. So disappointing. Absolutely the worst burger I've ever had in a restaurant, including fast food places. Ordered it med rare and somehow the thin dry patty wound up still being slightly pink but absolutely horrible. The "onion straws" that were supposed to come on top were ice cold, slimy, and probably fried hours ago and set aside for when someone ordered this burger. It was absolutely disgusting. The fries were stale and terrible. My husbands boli was small, mostly dough, and flavorless. The server was nice, and the beer was cold. The only saving grace. But I will never be back. Here is the Yelp review I'm sure this place was expecting when our party left the Brunswick Grove last Saturday afternoon 9/12/2020. I waited a few days to post because I didn't want to be accused of posting a review hastily. I assure you this is an actual review of my visit as part of a larger group to this location. We came here because we wanted to celebrate a special occasion. Everyone in our party has been here before except 2 people. I have always come here vowing to never to order mixed drinks from the bar based on their previous practice many years ago of refilling empty premium bottles with non-premium brand liquor. We were accomodated with little issue. Everyone in our party seemed to like their patio set up and tvs but sadly after this there was no other pleasant experience about this place. As far as the Brunswick Grove overall goes - it's a dump. Food was horrible, service was horrible and management was pathetic. If there is any way to give some of these places negative stars so they begin to take notice, this is a place that would certainly deserve it. We walked in at before 1pm to watch tables around us be served their food and pay their bill before we even got our appetizers. We had people in our party not get the food they had ordered. And the food that came out was cold and disgusting. The "manager" came out and then disappeared like he was Harry Houdini all the while our server was non-existent until the very end when she comes out and says "I wasn't aware of any issues with your party." It took them 2 hour ticket times (!!!!) to make pierogies, and steak sandwiches and chicken wings, french onion soup, pasta and meatballs but their mea culpa was that they were short staffed. Funny how the other tables got service and left before we even got our food. 2 people in our party didn't even get their order and left with only drinking water. The only comp they gave us for the disaster and their negligence was popcorn. Definitely would not reccomend. read more

It's on this uneven footing for a pretty even keeled review. I went here with my mother tonight after a pretty long day. We both got a chicken and broccoli Stromboli and shared a bar-sized regular pie. The food took a bit longer than expected to get to us, but when it did, we weren't blown away. The Strombolis we had looked more like baked ciabatta bread with filling than an actual Stromboli. While it did taste good (it also comes with honey mustard), I felt there was much room for improvement. The bar pie was actually really good. Then again, most pizza joints are better than anything I've really tried down South. It comes with the territory. Again, prices were high. But then again my mother did have two sangrias so that might've been the reason the bill was pushed northward. I'd come back here but only for the pizza. read more
