Waaayyyy over priced! It was bad enough that they charged me $45 on the receipt for one formal dress, one two-piece suit and one shirt for laundry, but when I picked them up the bill was $85! They said they miscalculated the price of the formal dress. They would not honor their original bill, despite my protests that I might not have left the garments if I had known it was going to be that much! I would have saved more by driving to Portland and back! read more

I second....I mean sixth the bad reviews here. Not that I even had our 5x8 rug cleaned there. I reluctantly did leave it after a quote of $120. It was around the cost of a new rug and while this one was probably in a higher price range (my wife remembers $170 maybe 10 years ago) it was still so much higher than J&J had charged us for cleaning it. But worse than that: I got a call the following day from them and they said they made a mistake in quoting it. At first I thought she was going to say "sorry, the person who quoted you was new and it will be lower"). No, she said it's going to be higher than the former quote! What the?! Barely keeping my calm after such bad customer service, and a longish drive each way, I said, "sorry, you just lost my business - I'm going to come pick it up". Unbelievable! read more

Monica M., I have no idea who you are, but I wish I'd read your review before trying this place. My husband had had good luck here when it was apparently run by other people. In April of 2014, I was very impressed by...by how unusually incompetent and clueless this place was. The one star is solely for the young woman who took in the party dress I needed cleaned; she was pleasant, attentive, and professional. I brought in a cute little out-of-character party dress to be cleaned on a Friday, and was told it would be ready the next Wednesday at 3pm. That seemed like a long time to me, but okay, it's the off-season. Went back Wednesday at 2:40pm. Guy who looked like he'd been hired to play "random incompetent schlub" on a bad northeastern-US sitcom finally emerged with the (untouched, or at least uncleaned) dress and sullenly slung it across the counter and mumbled something about how it had sequins (small embroidered patch across the front) and they didn't know whether it was okay to launder it. Or dry-clean it, maybe; I don't recall his exact words. I asked politely why they hadn't called me to ask. Seemed like a reasonable question, given that the dress was supposed to be ready that day. Nada. No apology, no offer of a quick cleaning, nothing. Yes, they had the correct phone number. No, they hadn't even tried. The guy even admitted that?!? But all was not lost. The dress said "Dry Clean Only", which is often...well, not entirely true. I told the "cleaner" that I'd try it myself and took it home. Spot-treated it and put it in the washer inside out on cold. Even put it in the dryer on delicate for a bit. Result? Nice clean dress. Went to the wedding. Looked good. Haven't been back to Brunswick Plaza Dry Cleaners since and intend never to do so. read more

Brunswick Maine is a great small town, sadly Brunswick now lacks a good drycleaner. Brunswick Plaza Drycleaner has new owners as of the summer of 2015. I had dropped of some heavy wool clothing here for cleaning and storage in December of 2014. Upon trying to pick the clothing up in early November 2015 I was informed that my wool cloths had been thrown out. The counter attendant informed me the new owners have no responsibility because Maine State Law only requires cloths to be kept for 90 days. I contacted the new owners by phone, who only repeatedly said they have no records from the old owners and have no responsibility for any clothing after 90 days. Further they had changed computer systems and there was no record of my wool cloths. The conversation was ended by the owner when he said he was too busy to discus it any more. Within 45 min of talking to the owner, the counter attended called me back to let me know that my wool clothing had been found. Upon picking up the clothing it was tagged with the original tag and the new computer system tag. I can only come to two possible conclusions form my experience. The new Owners and Staff are incompetent and can't use their own computer system. Or perhaps they are thieves. Give them some of your clothing and and decide for yourself. read more

I recently moved to Brunswick from Boston, MA, where there are several dry-cleaning services to choose from. I didn't expect to find too many options here in Brunswick but was happy to find Brunswick Plaza Dry Cleaning close to my house...or so I thought. After dropping off a couple suits, a few shirts and a pair of pants with an attendant, I asked her to give me an estimate on the price. What she told me was a little higher than I expected but I figured I'd wait and see what the final product looked like before commenting on the price. When I went to pick up, a different attendant told me that the first attendant hadn't gotten the price right, and in fact, it was almost $20 more than what I had anticipated. All in all, I paid over $50. After living in Boston for over 10 years and using several different dry cleaning services, I have never paid anything close to $50 for the amount of dry cleaning I dropped off at Brunswick Plaza Dry Cleaning. I won't be using their service again. read more

We have used Brunswick Plaza Dry Cleaners for 2 1/2 years and have been extremely satisfied with their service. When an accident happened to my parka zipper while being cleaned, they replaced it (the zipper) promptly and expertly. Perhaps these are new owners, because we have never had cause for complaint. read more

I've taken plenty of clothes here over the past several years. Never had a problem- the items are ready when promised, perfectly cleaned. They've even managed to get out a few stains I'd thought were hopeless. read more

Don't go here. They do not clean your clothes but they still charge you full price. Even when I said "I'm in a hurry and must have this back by Friday morning," they did not clean it nor did they call me. Yet they charged full price. I should have listened to the other reviewers and stayed away. Learn from my sad experience. read more

Stay away. We have had a few minor issues in the past with things not being cleaned properly. However, they were all corrected or compensated for. This time, not so. They ruined a very expensive pair of ladies wool slacks by apparently washing them instead of dry-cleaning. When we pointed out that they could no longer be worn by my wife and thus we should be compensated to buy a replacement. The owner stonewalled with every imaginable excuse. The final offer was to reimburse us for the $7.50 cleaning charge and not the $395 cost of the slacks! The owner should not be in business. read more
