I brought in a simple gown to be hemmed. She charged me $180, which is twice as much as I paid for the dress. She only pinned the hem up in one place. The shop is not just cluttered, it is filthy. She advertises a two-day turnaround. She told me my dress would be ready in a week. The dress was ready, when promised. However, when I went to pick-up the dress, she would not let me try it on. Upon arriving home, I found that the dress was too long. Because she is a cash-only business, I could not stop payment. Expensive. Shoddy alterations. Filthy environment. Sketchy pick-up. I dropped off something to be altered shortly before she closed. I then changed my mind about what i wanted. I tried to call but the phone was disconnected. Fortunately I didn't have a morning meeting so I was able to drive over and pick it up before she started. When I told her her phone was disconnected she knew it. I read some good reviews for Jung's and decided to have her hem a pair of pants. She did a good job. I returned with two dress shirts and asked to have them shortened because I like to wear them untucked. The stitching was sloppy, the sides were uneven, and shirttails were still long. She tried telling me it was the style of the shirt that made them look the way they do. I gave her one more chance and brought two pairs of jeans to hem and two more shirts. This time I brought another shirt that I wanted her to use as a guide, and she still made mistakes. The back of one shirt is longer than the front, and she didn't adjust the buttons, so it looks ridiculous. One pair of jeans was hemmed correctly, and the other had one leg 1/2 inch longer than the other. People make mistakes, but repeat mistakes on simple tasks are unacceptable. If you ruin people's clothes, there's no coming back from that. There is a language barrier and every time I explained what I wanted to be done, she rushed me and said "don't worry" "I know, "I know" without letting me finish and still messed up my clothes. I addressed this with her and her giggles and acted like it's a joke. Seriously?! She never apologized or took responsibility for the damage and mistakes. When I told her I wasn't coming back and planned to write a review, she said "no problem." Please be careful and think twice about bringing your clothes here. I have used Jung's several times for alterations and repairs. The work is top quality and dependable and always completed when promised.

Best tailor in the state of Maine. Very reasonable with prices and not only that, she has a two day turnaround policy but she usually only takes one day! For that service and for her prices, you cannot beat. Her English isn't the best but produces the best work. Best tailor ever. And if you're a regular she remembers who you are and has your stuff ready up in front. Tip: she's cash only so make sure you have cash on your hands! But you don't have to pay right away, you can pay when you pick up the work! Or pay before, which ever is more convenient for you. read more

I needed to have the waist of a tailored pair of pants taken in with a 2-1/2 week deadline. Several other businesses I called were too busy, but Jung told me to come right in. She not only did a professional job on my pants but they fit perfectly, were finished in only 4 days, and she charged less than half what I expected. THIS REVIEW IS FOR JUNG's IN SOUTH PORTLAND, ME (Jung got this review removed once before claiming it was a review for another shop) Avoid at all costs! She messed up my wedding suit. After 3 tries with Jung and each fitting worse than the one before, I was baffled by how she could be so talent-less and unqualified yet stay in business. I brought my nearly ruined suit to The Sewing Shop on Stevens Ave in Portland. The wonderfully skilled and true professional tailor there told me he gets at least one correction job per month from someone coming in after a horrible experience with Jung. If you care about your clothes do not try to save money by going here it will only cost you money and time in the long run. I try to love and forgive everyone, but I can't bring myself to forgive Jung for her horrible work on my suit. I have never hated a business as much as I hate this place. read more

Brought in a suit to have tailored for a wedding. Pants, sleeves, and back needed talioring. She said price was $55. Came back when she said it was ready and she didn't talior the sleeves and said that would be another $30. I went to Pratt Abbott and they tailored the sleeves perfectly in less than 24 hrs for $14. This is cash only establishment so plan on having a couple hundred dollars in cash on you if you plan on having a couple suits tailored. What a headache! read more

Worst service ever. The lady lied to me, wanted 170.00 up front to hem my wedding dress. A month and a half later I go to get it and she hasn't even touched my dress. She says she'll do it that night. I go and pick it up, she lied didn't do it, it's still 5 inches too long and she was supposed to remove the train and make it one length, she did none of it. This place is a steal. Mrs. Jung does great work and is super fast. It is also far cheaper than any place around. I took my wedding suit there and it looks great. I have also had a few pairs of pants brought in there and they fit better than ever and look fantastic. They are cash only which is a little inconvenient but there is an ATM across the street. If you're looking for a quick, cheap, and quality tailor look no further than Jung! I know the location is a bit off putting and it doesn't look like much inside OR outside but Jung knows what she's doing and does it well. I get my pants tailored, specifically any good pair of jeans I have, and for $10 and 1 day turn around (THAT'S RIGHT 1 DAY!) Jung's can't be beat. She doesn't really speak English and it's cash only but I love spots like this. You go in, she takes measurements within seconds, and tells you to pick up tomorrow. It's definitely a diamond in the rough but you'll see cops, lawyers, and soccer moms coming in and out of this place so she must be doing something right. It's right on Route 1 in SoPo next to the Edible Arrangements. If you're looking to try a new spot to get those designer jeans or suit pants fitted to you give Jung a try.
