Great ambiance, quick and friendly service, delicious appetizers, but lackluster mains. At its steeper price point, I expected the main dishes to be phenomenal - or, at least, not pasta I could cook myself at home. The sauce tasted like it was from a grocery store, the pasta soggy, the presentation soupy. The addition of shrimp was an extra $8 (merely 4 pieces) and tasted as if it was blow-dry-reheated from frozen. I expected more from the pasta dishes! (around $30 each) But from a place called Bruschetta, the bruschetta olive oil & tomato dish sure was delicious. If you choose to go, I can only confidently recommend the appetizers.

Back again to the gem. Hidden in a nondescript mall but spectacular food and service! Had the lasagna, huge and delicious, come hungry or it feeds two. Cioppino was excellent as was the Caesar salad. We ended the evening sharing the delightful tiramisu

New restaurant in south lake tahoe so we had to try. Best italian restaurant we've been to in the area. It is pricey but there are more expensive restaurants in the area. It's a small space so definitely make a rez. friendly staff. It's a mile from the casinos with limited sidewalks so not too walkable especially in the winter. We will definitely be back next visit to the area.

Perfect space for lunch or dinner!! Glad our friend who lives in the neighborhood knows where to go for a quality meal. Both dishes were exceptional and complimented by the very attentive service. An added plus met Erick one of the owners, who shared upcoming wine dinner events. The Dungeness pasta was amazing. Our only suggestion would be to increase the portion by a third. The 20 layer lasagna prepared w/veal&pork, bechamel sauce instead of ricotta, fresh pomodoro sauce, and Parmesan cheese. The size was so massive, it's perfect for four as an appetizer or just plan on having two great meals. Both dishes were complimented by the Nebbiolo, from the small but varied wine list. Wish I was a local to enjoy this place more often and explore its culinary magic. Kudos to Erick and Chef Victor!

Tahoe is a food desert where decent restaurants generally go extinct with little warning. This little Italian-food nook in an uninspiring commercial center up Kingsbury grade offers a change from the nearby casinos and bears. It has been around about a year and a half and replaced a former Italian shop - that had replaced a French one before that. I went there with a Italian food pro and an Englishman and even a German. I didn't mind the fare, but... If this spot were a British style pub called the 'Kingsbury Arms', then the traditional English cheese on toast they called 'bruschetta' would make more sense. Strong spaghetti - with grey meatballs. Some decent Italian red wine in wide proper bulbous glasses. Some uninspired plastic caprese with squeazy-bottle tasting balsemic. I liked the rich and complex Bolognese, but that wasn't unanimous. Nice service from a head guy who's at least 1/4 Sicilian I reckon, and the menu is not overpriced. A locals family hang. Last seating 8:45.

We walked in without a reservation on a busy Saturday night and we were able to sit at the bar. The service was great. The cocktails were beautiful and food amazing. The lasagna was a mountain, plenty to share and seriously so delicious. I can't wait to visit again.

Absolutely loved this spot! The food was incredible -- the mac & cheese croquettes and herb ricotta focaccia bread are must-tries. For dinner, we shared the filet mignon with crispy gnocchi and the maccheroncelli, and both were amazing! The ricotta on the maccheroncelli was such a perfect touch -- so creamy and flavorful. We also had a couple of mocktails, which were just as delicious as any cocktail. The restaurant itself is adorable and cozy, perfect for a date night or dinner with friends. Everything from the atmosphere to the service made the experience wonderful. Can't wait to come back!

Came here for an early Valentine's Day dinner and it was a great intimate spot. Great energy from walking in the door and that energy transferred to the food. The 20 layer lasagna was amazing and seemed to be a popular choice since we saw nearly every table have it. Mac n Cheese croquettes, focaccia, salmon, and tiramisu were all great. All within reasonable prices. SLAPS

We honestly were not impressed. We were recommended this restaurant because we were celebrating our anniversary and were told it was fine dining. It is not fine dining. The word "fine" is on their menu and it may refer to the food, but the atmosphere is not fine dining at all. My first impression was the TV with football on it. This is a very sports bar feel. My next impression was how loud it was. Fine dining is not that loud. My third impression was the table we were sitting at. The placement where our feet go was at the top of a base of the table and it was super uncomfortable. I noticed not all the tables had that. Wish we could have sat a different place, but I didn't see an empty table and that was due to it being a small space, which I see nothing wrong with having a small space. The food tasted delicious, but my 20 layer lasagna was huge! Normally I don't complain about a big portion, but our waitress said there were 2 entrees that were huge. Why are the portions not the same throughout the entire menu? It should be. And, I highly doubt that was 20 layers. It would be huge vertically instead of horizontally. My husband said his dish was good, too, but his portion was rather small and it was beef tips instead of steak. Because there were some highs & (mostly) lows, that's why I gave it a 3 out of 5 stars. I have nothing bad to say about our waitress. She was very nice and kept our drinks coming.

So starting with the ambiance. Once you walk in it's lively yet an intimate space. I loved the decor it felt very welcoming. Right away we were seated and greeted by the staff. They are friendly and know the menu well. We got calamari, cheesy bread, filet mignon, Spaghetti and meatballs, boar pasta, veal. Everything was well seasoned, great portions and good price.

Traveling with a child who is a year and half is not for the faint of heart. Some days they decide that being confined is something they want to reject with their whole soul. This was one of those days when I was super hungry and stopped in here. The waitress took pity on me and grabbed me a coloring book with pencils to try to stave off his wily ways. At one point she even put some beans in a plastic container for him to shake. She was an angel sent from heaven. I had thought I knew what I wanted going in based off pictures I saw, but I guess they change a lot of their menu options around. One thing that seems to be consistent is their lasagna as they are known for it, so I picked that. Lots of thin sheets of pasta, bechemel sauce, meat sauces, caramelized bottom all in a hug portion. She even accommodated me and percured some delicious bread that was off menu and an amazing herb dipping sauce for it. They have daily mocktail options and I chose a blueberry lavender spritzer. Refreshing, balanced, and not to sweet. Overall amazing compassionate service and mind blowing food make this truly a gem.

My experience at Bruschetta had some highs and lows, so a 3-star rating seems appropriate. The good: The namesake bruschetta appetizer is incredible, crunchy bread with a layer of melted cheese and an abundance of halved tomatoes. I also loved the mussels and sausage -- the broth is especially memorable. The bad: We ordered the squid ink pasta with prawns, but got shrimp that were definitely smaller than expected. Compare the picture we have with what other people on Yelp have received. My best guess is that they ran out of the regular prawns, since we ate later in the evening. But it would have been nice if they had just told us to get something else. And there were a couple minor issues: we made a reservation but still had to wait a while, and there were spots of what looked like dried food on the menu and the napkin. Other groups around us seemed to be having a great time though, so your mileage may vary.

Omg, Omg, Omg Bruschetta is a must!!!( just getting right to the point) Let me start off that Sean our waiter was super fantastic. He guided us through the menu and gave us some great recommendations. We started off with a round of wonderful drinks from the old fashioned to the blackberry limoncello spritz. For appetizers we had the Mac & cheese croquettes ($15) in a three cheese sauce Each was amazing, the mussels with fennel sausage $17 in a butter white wine and shallot sauce, unbelievable and the roasted cherry & plum tomato bruschetta which was over the top!!! For dinner, another OMG!!!!! We had the yellow Chantetelle mushroom Botti with their home made house ricotta cheese, ricotta, garlic, thyme and nutmeg with some added shrimp as a protein. The pasta was so smooth and creamy and the sauce so delicious. My cousin and I shared the 20 layer lasagna ($33) and the veal Parmesan ($48). The lasagna is their signature dish and let me tell you, it is so friggin huge, loaded up with meats and cheese ( veal, pork, pancetta, bechemel, sauce Parmesan and basil. This dish was huge and delicious!!!! Get this!!! The veal parm I will be honest. I always order veal parm when it is on There menu but When I saw the price, I just thought I am not going to pay that much. Sean came over and enthusiastically told me about the veal parm and goes huge the portion was, so I decided to get it. Let me tell you, I was 110% amazed and satisfied by this dish. The portion was the largest I ever saw and the veal thick, but pounded tender and delicious!!!!! I loved this dish. I highly recommend Bruschetta. Their food and service is over the top! Sean's service and personality were amazing.

The food was pretty solid overall. We ordered the Cajun shrimp salad, Tavern burger, buffalo cauliflower, and fish and chips. The fish and chips came with deep-fried salmon, which unfortunately was a bit dry. We arrived for an early dinner around 5pm. The place was mostly empty at the time. We were seated promptly and ordered some drinks. The cocktails were good. The espresso martini was especially delicious. We put in our order for food. I was impressed by the menu. Many things looked good and there were many classic dishes as well as traditional dishes with a twist. Our food came and the two burgers were good as well as the side of onion rings for an extra charge. One of our burgers was ordered with a side salad and there is an extra charge for that too. The birria dip was interesting and had great flavor. The fried chicken sandwich was tasty but we couldn't quite decide what was "Korean" about it. The restaurant is nicely decorated with plenty of tables. I suspect this was not always a restaurant based on the massive mirrored wall. But maybe it's just a unique design choice. Why not five stars? Nothing was amazing. The portions were a bit small, especially the proteins. The chicken patty was very slim and I do think the dip could have had more meat. The burgers were ok, but nothing out of this world. The prices are also high. For four entrees and two cocktails the bill was about $150 before tip. Seems a bit steep, but it is Tahoe. I'll visit Tahoe Tavern again because I'd like to try some other menu items. Overall it's a cool spot. I'd recommend it if you're looking for somewhere around stateline that is not in the hustle and bustle of the casinos. Cheers!

We got to see him put the toppings in the dough, wrap it up and place in the oven for about 5 minutes. So essentially their Italian Burrito is just a different shaped Calzone. As we ate it, I noticed the filling worked it's way to the bottom of the burrito. So the first couple of bites were essentially just dough. Once I finally got some filling, it was ok. Maybe it was an off day. But for me, I shouldn't have let my curiosity of "what is an Italian Burrito" get to me haha.

After looking around, I decided to try Scusa. We've driven by it so many times, I figured why not? We made a rezzie, but I don't know if one is really needed. It's a pretty good sized resto. We were seated at a booth by the window. I enjoyed the creamy ravioli. Good amount of lobster flavor. The salad I adored cuz of the anchovies. I loved the creamy, salty, briny dressing with the crisp lettuce. The escargots were tasty. Tho I prefer to soak up the delicious butter with a crusty french bread vs the focaccia like one we got here. But it's an italian spot, so understandable. My seafood pasta, I enjoyed the flavors, but it was sandy. Not overly so, but enough to affect the texture of the sauce a bit. Maybe I should have complained, but I didn't. The hubs seemed to enjoy his calamari steak. Seemed very standard with a citrus caper sauce. Service was good. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The decor is kinda mixed. There is a section that has that white table cloth vibe. Well, they actually have white tablecloths. And then a row of booths along the window without tablecloths. I prefered where we were sitting since it was roomier, but it seemed almost like two different spaces. An enjoyable italian meal. Tho I'd watch out for anything with shellfish. Your dish could be a little sandy. REVIEW #4030
